Fujin stood rigid on a ridge away from the other students. Her hair rippled and waved in the wind. She only moved to brush the hair out of her eye when the wind caused it to block her vision. Her explesion was flat and her eye twitched and watered. Her gaze lay apon the Garden, damaged in places, but still it sparkled with glory. She though she could faintly hear the bells ringing, carried on the wind. Steadily her eye grew red, her head lowered away from the sight and she shook with growing violence. She sliced the air with hand and belowed apon the lands below.
"OURS!"

Raijin sat on a rock next to Fujin with his head in his hands. "It's no use. We gave it our all you know. We can talk about going to take it back all we want, but the truth is we are so wounded we may never get it back, ya know? All we can do now is stand by Seifer and the what is left of the students."

Fujin trembled with anger. "NO!" she screamed with biting rage. She turned to Raijin and kicked him hard in the knee. She quickly turned away from him and lowered her head. She began to speak in a diferent voice than usual, softer and more personal sounding,
"We must never give up"

"A team should already be there right now, I don't think Cid would just sit around and wait, he knows what too do..." Zell moved slowly along with Delan as he spoke, the entire event had changed him dramaticly, he wasent as full of energy as usual, almost like the entire event had drained him of his energy.
"I think we are safe up here for now, we can take our time ..." Zell looked around as he walked upward through the dirt, grit and many rocks towards the hidden cavern where most of the SeeDs and Students had taken refuge. His eyes scanned the area slowly but he turned after awhile and sat down to look at the Garden, once there proud home, so amazing yet now it was almost like Trabia from back then, blasted, bombed and bruised badly ... yet it still eminated that pride, glory and beauty of SeeD.
" ... We'll get you back " Zell's hand clenched into another tight fist as he whispered those words, they finally knew how it was, not only to lose there Home but to lose so much more, all at once.

Thin brows furrowing as she stopped to watch Zell for a moment, one of Delan's own set of fingers curled up securely. Hurrying two steps towards the SeeD, the girl with the loose black hair brushed the other fighter's shoulder with her knuckles, pacing around to leer down at him. "Don't say it that way! If you're solemn like that, you'll never get Garden back! You have to be a positive thinker or you'll fail for sure!" Breathing heavily before softening her face, the teenager’s hand crept closer to her face. Did I really just say that? Delan asked herself, a bit shocked at her little sermon.
"I mean... Don't you..." Making a muffled sound in her throat, Delan knelt down to where she balanced on her feet, making a confused but concerned face. "You'll do better smiling than getting all serious, you know. Those Galbadian idiots will get intimidated once they lay their eyes on your happy mug, and once they witness your strength they won't know what hit 'em!" Closing an eyelid a bit, Delan gave Zell a sly look, and instantly shot her thumbs out to his mouth where she pinched the sides of his lips and folded them into a distorted smile.

Chris sits on a rock at one of the higher mountains in the range on the north end of Balamb Isle, staring off boredly into the distance. He's not worried about being seen by the Galbadians; various rock formations block the Garden from his line of sight behind him.
"Why did you come here?"
He smiles lightly upon hearing the gentle, soothing voice of his GF speaking inside his mind.
So you do recognize the spot. This is exactly where I was sitting when you found me.
It's unnecessary for him to use vocal speech to communicate with her. He could just think and she'd hear him, but it's his personal preference to actually speak.
"I remember. I don't like it here. There's a lingering residue of pain and regret everywhere."
I'm sorry, Sis... This has been my thinking spot for years. I always came here, way before I met you.
"I know. All of the pain here is yours. Your regrets, even though they're old, still cry out to me..."
He frowns, and immediately stands up, moving back toward the trail away from the clearing.
I... You never said anything..
"I knew that you liked to come here. The times that you came here, was when you were the most open with me. When I learned the most about you. And I want to know everything about you."
He smiles lightly, walking back down the path toward the main caverns where the others are gathered.
You're too sweet, El..

In the darkness, he lays alone outside the system of caverns being used as the gathering point for the survivors, gazing up into the heavens.
Sighing softly, he reaches up his left hand toward the sky, as though reaching out to someone to take his hand and pull him from the brink of his own mortality. He closes his eyes as his fingers begin to close upon nothing, sighing heavily in the dark.
Suddenly, he feels a feminine hand entangle its fingers with his and softly yet tightly squeeze his hand. He slowly opens his eyes, staring up into the worried grey eyes of Ele'sear, who had summoned herself so that he had a hand to hold.
"Please... Don't think about her. It only makes you hurt more."
He looks up into her caring eyes as he pulls their connected hands down to his side, trying to shove away the painful and bitter memories.
I.. I can't help it. It feels like it was only yesterday...
"I know, Chris. I know. But everything's going to be okay."
As she spoke, she slides over to lay down beside him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders in a warm hug.
"As long as I'm with you, everything will be okay. And I doubt I will ever have need to leave your side."
He brings up his other hand to hold onto her arm and closes his eyes, all the better to keep the tears at bay.
I.. Thank you...

Selphie leaned against the outside of the cave. She looked at the night sky sadly. Luckily she had gotten out of the garden with only a few scartches she mourned for those who had died. Anger filled her but she pushed it aside knowing it wasn't the time to be angry...it was the time to help the wounded.

Raijin grabbed his knee and yelped. He was about to yell at Fujin when she spoke. He lowered his head.
"Yeah I know. I want to go back too. Just don't go doing anything that'll get you killed. We've lost enough already"

Morrina didn't like this one bit. She was sitting in Hiro's lean-to..to get away from the stifling cavern atmosphere. The caves reminded her of D-District prison, and that's a memory she didn't want to have brought up now. She visibly fidgits around, though her eyes betray no nervousness like her body does..she's kept them hard and cold as ice as long as she can remember..but she left almost everything behind in Garden..all she managed to bring with her was her poster/painting..which she kept rolled up and in a protective tube..she'd die before she parted with it..that and the little bad she always kept with her.
"What nonsense..what made those barbarians attack a totally non hostile place..? That aura those men were giving off..it wasn't natural.."

Hiro had put out the call, late last night, to Squall. Whether the man had gotten it, he had no clue. It had been simple. Survivors in the mountain. Need for food, water, and ammo. Bring what he could, from Esthar. Seek them out, when he arrived on Balamb.
For now, he was resting against his lean-to, Morrina just inside, trying to catch some rest, before he prepared for the mild Garden invasion, come nightfall. It would take quite a bit, and probably lose a few soldiers. Those who had wanted to, had volunteered to come with him. No one was required to take on the army head on. But his rations had been spread too thin already, and the younger cadets had been complaining about hunger.
He didn't reply when she spoke, merely rose, and made his way away from the lean-to. He didn't have the answers she was seeking. And even if he did, he couldn't have given them to her without revealing his past. It was already starting to haunt him in a way he didn't like. He hefted the gun he kept just outside the leanto, closed his laptop, and made his way down the mountain. One by one, a few of the stragglers fell into step behind him. This was going to be one helluva fast raid. They had to manage to get in, get food, and get back out, without getting caught. It would be.. interesting.

( YAY ... ME BACK! ... >>; )
Zell's face was stuck in that rather strange smile for a short time before he shook his head and jumped up with his fists clenched tighter then ever, why hadent he thought of that? He gave Delan a grin and a small wink as he turned too the cave and took off running, the girl was right, serious was not something Zell was all for anyway, Galbadia would have to deal with the real Zell now.
Zell's feet hit the ground as he took of running and then with a jump he stopped inside the cave with a skidding halt and a small thud.
"Anyone miss me?" Zell looked around the cave for signs of anyone hurt but it seemed like most where simply hurt on the inside the out, Cure spells and all that may Cure wounds but this wound was on the inside ...

Delan followed the tattoo-wielding young man with her head in a mechanical way, but was smiling widely after him even as she rose up. Cheering someone up made her feel better about herself, like she had accomplished something that would greatly help with the current situation - especially someone as witty and silly as Zell. It made her feel...well, powerful, but in a helpful way.
We're going to win. As she thought this her attention was turned onto the raped Garden, just now finding that she cared a lot for the place. Each word held its own amount of confidence, and Delan was determined that she and everyone else from Balamb would make it happen exactly so. The best way to accomplish that would be to not lose anyone on their side, but that was always the inevitable thing in war.
Beginning to step more slowly in Zell's footsteps, Delan quietly grew closer to the cave full of kids, students and the faculty of Balamb Garden. The shadows and rushed movements of all the people gathered there saddened her, and again her mind traveled to what had gone down with her during the attack.
I still don't get it... Why would he do that? I thought he hated me so much... Who she was contemplating about was nearly impossible to name even for a telepath, but Delan couldn't rid herself from the young man's pressured voice, and her reflection in his red visor that all the Galbadians had attached to their helmets.

( -Encourages you with a large ... ... ... thumbs up?- )
Zell looked around slowly before his body moved forward and plopped down onto the floor too rest and talk about what would happen next, many people where already in conversations of running like hell or standing and fighting, Zell had decided fighting was the best but was sure others would leave, some people after this lose had given up everything. He shifted through the memories of what happened, the Galbadian forces had alot of troops and alot of mechanical help aswell, they had fought best they could but still lost, this time they wouldent get too caught off guard, they would fight too the best they could.
"Tch, we can still win ..." Zell's fists where still clenched tight as ever, he was becoming anxious for the discussions to begin, they had to keep fighting and decide what too do soon or they would be hunted down and killed before they even had a chance to fight back.
