Jamal ate hungrily, not so much worrying about manners; he was in a cage for christsake with nothing to eat since before he was stuck in it, and listened to Antony talk. The mention of two baggies of pot make him pause in mid bite.

"How'd ya get it?" he inquired after swallowing, putting his fork and knife down for moment.

"Asked for it," she shrugged, as if it were no big deal, "I talked to a Dr. Duvert and I got a bunch of toiletries, clothing catalogs for new clothes, and the pot." It didn't seem to bother her that she got free stuff from the exact people who had put him in the cage.

Then again, where else would she get it from?

Jamal grunted and lifted another piece of steak to his maw with his fingers, annoyed somewhat that she had gone to the staff to get whatever it was she wanted. Then again, he'd done the same before. The mere fact he detested the staff at this moment was more the reason for his irritation.

"Someday I'mma ********' grow ma own. Ain't no reason not to," he grumbled through a mouthful of meat, then licked his fingers of steak juice. "********' docs did enough...I ain't trustin' them no mo'."

The tattooed woman wasn't about to give up the lovelies of being able to call for free s**t from the doctors just because Jamal actually got punished. As close as she was to him, he had tried to kill a doctor and Antony would have been surprised if he hadn't been punished.

"I'm too lazy to grow my own," she admitted as she eyed the darkening skies. Like hell she'd be out of her duplex this late with Billy going withdrawl crazy. "I should go... Don't want to run into Billy again..."

"Hate ta give dat ******** anotha' reason fo' me ta kill him," he growled, his expression regaining a murderous shadow for a moment before he sighed and pushed his plate away. The thought of growing his own pot was a silly one to dwell on right now, considering he was stuck in a cage. At least he had a little bit of pot and his bedding...that would make this more tolerable for sure.

He did look a bit glum though when she said she was going to leave, after a time. She'd just gotten there, afterall (or so it seemed). Jamal would forgo the tiger's displeasure of being social if it meant he didn't have to sit outside in a cage alone. He didn't expect her to stay indefinately anyway; he -did- earn this on his own, afterall.

"Thanks fo' da goods," rumbled the tiger man from the casted shadows that the bars of his cage and the roof were now projected thanks to the setting sun.

Antony smiled weakly before moving to stand, tails helping with balance as she did so. "I'll try and visit again, but just drop by if they release you soon," she stated, trying not to instigate his anger while giving it to him straight.

Turning, she waved and gave him a grin only she could pull off before she disappeared into the distance and undoubtedly into her duplex soon after.

It was Moreau's Freak Show Island, and she felt helpless.

Jamal tried not to feel bitter towards her as she walked away over the mere fact that she COULD go home and he couldn't and turned to sit on his 'bed', digging for a joint and a lighter. A good buzz would kill this shitty mood, at least for awhile.

Unfortunately, Jamal never got to light it.

Somewhere in the labs, someone on camera duty had seen him with his new goods and made sure he wasn't to enjoy any of it for long. Before the paper stick reached his lips, a sharp, -familiar- electrical twinge flew down his spine and once again he found himself embraced by darkness against his will.

(from a PM delivered to this account)
Island of Moreau
When Jamal awoke, his cage would be, once again, completely empty. A bowl of water would be added, but this food would be cleared, and his pockets cleaned of everything Antony had given him earlier.

When Jamal woke, he had a terrible aching pain radiating from the side upon which he was lying. An arm was twisted underneath at an odd angle thanks to his abrupt black-out and it didn't help that cold metal was directly beneath that either. He felt disoriented, as he was last time, and struggled to sit up, not realizing at first that the cold metal below shouldn't be there. Rather, he should be feeling at least the comforting softness of his blankets.

"What da ******** was dat fo'," he hissed and rubbed a rough palm over his face to try and shake the sleepy, woozy feeling, his whiskers twinging painfully at the roots as he did so too roughly. "I didn't do nuthin' dat time."

Jamal's other hand groped the flat floor absently, looking for his lighter so he could light that joint that he had remembered trying to smoke earlier, but then he realized it was no where to be found. A quick glance down also made him realize that his blankets and pillow were gone as well. What. The. HELL.

The man clumsily got to his feet, whirling in a circle frantically in search of his personal items and found that none were there. Not a sign of fabric from his bedding nor a crumb of the food he had partially eaten last night. Not a damn thing. His pockets were completely void of their earlier contents as well. The only thing he saw was a bowl of water placed in the corner...almost as a silent mockery of his situation.

Rage spiked at a remarkably quick pace and Jamal gave a gutteral shout, mixing horribly between a roar and a scream, and lashed out to kick the bowl forcefully against the metal bars. He was rewarded with a series of loud clangs at it rattle against the walls. After wobbling about, it landed upside down, the remains of the contents spilling down the bars and onto the earthen floor to the outside and the metal floor on the inside. He didn't care as he slumped back to the floor of the cage, hands gripping his face and claws pricking the skin of his forehead, trying to calm down. Getting angry wasn't going to help; that's what got him in this situation. However, everything suddenly seemed much more bleak.

They were going to deprive him of EVERYTHING. No liquor, no pot, no bedding, no sex, no food, no freedom, very little company, little protection from the elements...they were going to break this man's spirit by the time they were done. No one could bring him anything because it would just be taken. Jamal was not used to doing without like he was back in Detriot, and even then, he had the comforts of housing, some food, and freedom to go where he wanted. None of that was afforded him now.

The jungle... the tiger lamented in the back of Jamal's mind, a needy feeling of having foliage pressed about his body surging over his paniced thoughts. Jamal could see it from his box, could smell the scents of rotting wood and sweet flower perfume, but couldn't touch it. That's what he wanted now more than anything. Give me the jungle.

Jamal exhaled, face contorting as if the action was painful, and hauled himself to his feet, eyes focused on the greenery that he could see not too far away. It was right there. The freedom that he and the tiger both yearned for was right now.

He started to pace.

Anjali had decided to slip out for a walk... tentatively at first, poking her head out around the doorframe with some fear.

Fortunately, the odd hypersensitivity to the 'song' of the plants that had made her cringe as she entered the village after the months in the wild had disappated somewhat, and she no longer felt the outrage of the clear-cut jungle seething around her. Oh, it was still there, as much a part of background noise as the other sounds of the village, but no longer overwhelming.

After reassuring herself, Anjali stepped outside and stretched in the sun, the warmth that much nicer since her transformation. But as she turned, she caught sight of something out of the corner of her eye...

What's that? Some metallic object was near her benches, totally ruining any kind of calming effect... what was that monstrosity? How dare they quibble with her landscaping plans?

Anjali huffed her way over to the cage, then stopped, open-mouthed, as she realized what it was - and, furthermore, what was in it.

"Jamal?" she cried out, running up to the side of the cage, her eyes filled with concern. Out of sheer reflex, some of her hair tentacles snapped around the bars and held tight even as her hands did the same.

Jamal had spent the entire day pacing back and forth from wall to wall until finally he was too exhausted to continue to do so, curling up in a corner to catch an hour or so of sleep until his tiger instincts pulled him awake with their desire of the jungle. He hadn't eaten all day and his eyes were semi-bloodshot from the poor sleep and general crappiness of being cage-bound.

Anjali had approached while he was peering out the opposite side longingly at the foliage he could see around some of the buildings, claws rattling against the bars in a clearly aggitated tempo. Her voice made him growl in reflex and he turned, brow wrinkled into a sneering expression, though it dissolved for the most part when he saw who was there. Anjali was one of those people he considered to be one of the better people on the island; she was up there with Awen and Antony simply because she'd spent that time in the wilderness with him and helped their small group survive.

"Yeah, it's me," grunted the man bitterly, a sad note of loneliness and despair in his voice that he tried to hide ineffectively with a forced laugh as he crossed over towards the side she was clinging to. "Glad ta see ya made it outta da forest a'ight..."

"Jamal... I'm so sorry about.. the jungle, before the village opened... I kind of disappeared..." Anjali struggled with the words, tryign to articulate what had happened to her. "You have no idea about the jungle, none at all... the trees talk, in a way, and... I was one of them and... oh, I don't know." She shook her head in frustration.

Then, looking up at him, she realized something was different with a quick, indrawn breath. "Oh... you changed. I'm sorry..." She looked down. "I guess we were just late... or something."

Anjali bent to survey the cage, then stood up again with a frown. "Why on earth are you in this cage? Who did this?" She looked irritated.

"It's a'ight," he responded to her first stammered statement, understanding somewhat. The tiger in his head never shut up completely and right now certainly wasn't any exception. He tapped a claw to his temple, closing his eyes briefly. "We all get lost in our otha'sides, I think. At least I know I do. I used ta walk in da jungle all da time to relax...Dunno why, but da voice in ma head wanted it. I'd give almost anythin' ta get outta herr jus' so I kin be in there right now."

He sighed in a dejected manner, not commenting on her realization of his changed state, not wanting to get into that right then. Think happy thoughts. Right... He wrapped his hands about the bars and peered at Anjali through them, frowning so the tips of his fangs peeked just below his top lip.

"Got ma a** thrown in herr 'cause I went afta' Aubrey at da beach bar...tried ta choke her. She told me dat we spent all dat time in da woods 'cause it was a ********' experiment, not 'cause anyone was in trouble or da labs broke down. I was tired of bein' lied too 'n' somethin' inside snapped, I guess." He didn't look the least bit remorseful for his actions as he said this

Anjali let out a long, slow breath. "It was... an experiment? Aubrey's alive?" Her hands curled into fists, the sticky mucilage on the tips of her fingers sliding across her skin. "I... see," she said, finally. She hadn't thought to ask or do much of anything since finding herself back in civilization. "Thanks for telling me."

She frowned again at the cage, more deeply this time. "How long have you been in here? Do you need food? Water... in something a bit more dignified than a bowl? Anything? Do they take care of you, or....?" Anjali felt like she owed Jamal something for her absence in the jungle, and furthermore there was no way she could NOT help anyone in that situation...

"Aubrey's alive, but I did ma best ta fix dat," he chuckled darkly, though he still looked distinctly glum about the situation he was in. The urge to pace was again nagging at his thoughts and though Anjali had never done anything bad to him, he also felt the urge to snap at her and make her go away. It wasn't anything she did and he knew it, thus squashed the impulses away for now. "'pparently she 'n' Moreau left da island fo' a holiday o' somethin'. Nice dat they get dat luxury, ain't it? If Aubrey was thinkin' dat news like dat ain't gonna make peope mad, then she's stupider then I was thinkin." He growled and clenched the bars beneath his hands, imagining them to be a staff member's neck. He'd probably never get a chance to get his hands on any of them now.

Her other questions drew him away from his fantasy world, which was probably for the best anyway.

"Been in herr a coupla days. They don't give me nuthin' 'cept dat bowl ova there dat had wata in it," he said, pointinig at the overturned dish before continuing. "Antony brought me food, smokes, and beddin' last night but them bastards knocked me out again 'n' took all of it. I ain't eaten once yet today."
