Engines rumbled in yet another night, and there was Gin, just as if he belonged on the starting line, and the rumble of their finely tuned motorcycles filled the streets with a unique music that the member of Nyx could appreciate. "There might be nothing like that, but the feeling of victory can give you a pretty significant rush all the same. Don't think I'm going to go easy on you just because you're new around here, Nishijo." He wasn't sure that the Kirijo would approve of the way they were spending their nights, even if it was Mitsuru who'd set up these tracks, but it looked like the Irresponsible Temp wasn't going to be blowing the whistle on Gin's fun at least, and it was definitely one of the best ways to blow off steam. At least, for someone who liked to get into some of the rougher stuff, like Mishima did, although he made sure to take just as many precautions to avoid getting hurt as he did to make sure he knew how to race. His bike was as near and dear as his life...and that's why he'd have to claim another victory tonight, and offer up the v to his bike and it's pride once again.

"Couldn't resist again, eh Nix? Good...that's the sign of a true racer, willing to live and die by the second. If you can beat me tonight, maybe I'll even give you a something special as a reward." Gin put leather to metal and there was a roar as his motor revved up once again, a bit of fire spitting out the back as he issued the usual challenge to one of the race's biggest enthusiasts, a smirk spreading across his face. "But I'm not going to go easy, so you better give it your all!" The declaration was the last statement Gin would make, before focusing on his bike and checking for issues until the race started.

One-two-three challengers! That was exciting in and of itself, that he wouldn't be navigating the course on his own; that Nix had actually shown up and proven the rumors of her status as a Speed Queen of the tracks true, however, was certainly something that interested him much more than even the race itself. His lips curled into an easy, handsome smile as she wished everyone the best of luck, himself especially, and he turned his attention to the road, charging up the engine for the race that would begin any moment. He also noticed Gin had come, leading him to understand where he had been disappearing to lately...Mitsuru had set up the course, and they were of age, though, so she really couldn't say much, could she?

Either way, the bikes were humming, the race was set...and it was ON!

Gin crossed the starting line, one of the places he'd done the worst at before, and didn't even think about letting up on the gas as he began to build his speed and make a move for an early lead. This was a race with people he knew, one where he'd be feeling the effects of his racing skills for some time to come, and that meant he had to give it his all, and then be even better than ever. He might not have sent the group packing in their last race, but this time he was definitely going to teach them just what the meaning of the words Speed Demon was.

Kanade quietly got onto her bike, scooting up as she turned back.
"Well...Get on." she called quietly, starting go glance ahead to avoid meeting eyes with him. She sat for a bit, before feeling him get on the back.
"Can we please do a short race?" Jo(shu) pleaded, sitting on Kanade's bike, "This is a bit different than I..
"Alrighty then. Beginner Race. First to the end wins." she called out, starting to rev her engine. "Three.......Two.."
"Shu, you should....hold on." Kanade called back, quietly.
"Ah..? How fast are we.."
"One....."
VRRRRRRRRRRRROMMMMM
"Gooooooooooooooo!"
And like that, they were off! And Shu's question was quickly answered.

He wasn't running. Running implied that there was anything left for him to try and escape.

Most of his friends didn't even know him anymore; the ones who did, didn't really know him. They knew a version of him that was different from the current, and he felt the threat, omnipresent as it was, that he would somehow remind them of himself and relive that nightmare which chaos had forced unto them as a result of his innocent sin. They had survived that chaos once; he had been allowed to forget, allowed to return to the ruined place that he had once belonged...then chaos happened to him again, this time in the form of an old ally and the shadow of a new hero not too much different from himself. And after wreaking chaos outside of his own control, the memories of the deaths 'Hetero' wrought still fresh inside of his mind, there was nothing left for him except for his mission to protect. His mission to ensure that the worst never came to pass on his watch, on his account, ever again...that was what kept him moving forward. Still, the memories lingered...good and bad. Riding his bike helped to make them fade away, helped him to feel a sort of easy calm that was never quite content, but not fully enraptured by the darkness, either.

He wasn't running. He knew he could never escape his memories, even with the speed of his custom bike and the thrill of the race to distract him. He was merely letting it fade away...forgetting, for the few short moments in the thrill of competition. ...He loved this bike, but he knew it was an escape, nothing more. And he longed in his heart for the days of a beautiful blond who called him 'Chinyan', a punk rock friend who had seen him as a rival, an effeminate young man who had been his dearest friend, and that girl...the Deja Vu Girl...how he had missed her ever since that event, not so very long ago...yes, he longed for them. But he could not grasp it. This was the easiest answer...the easiest way to forget it all...and just ride. But he wasn't running...memories were always with you, and they were all he had left...you couldn't run from them. Only ride...

"Get set," the young man challenged, red biking suit zipped up and a helmet finding its way over his long hair...a determined focus spoke to his serious intentions on the race to come, "To Inaba...on my mark. If you're willing to accept the challenge."

The Expert Race would soon begin...

Saiga moved up as the mystery Rider drove up, giving them a goal, offering her up a challenge. Unlike the last guy, he seemed to be a bit more reserved...and yet, seemed quite a bit more badass than the number one guy.
"I could go for a Race, after Teaching Shu." she called, revving her engine up. "Anything to get out of teacher mode."
Plus, if he wanted lessons, Kanade was there. She could enjoy a race or two without him...

The green haired girl let out a small shaky breath as she curled her hands tightly around the handles. What was she doing? Nito did say these races were fun, but..she couldn't say she was an expert. Why was she even trusting him on this? Fun for him was sometimes different than what she was usually used to, but... well, he had looked so excited about it before. With a sigh, she lowered the visor and got in position.
Goodness...she just hoped she didn't kill herself in here.

The challenge was out and there were plenty of takers right from the outset; his eyes were calm as he turned them back towards the street now, ready to jet through the long course at a moment's notice. He had been looking forward to this challenge, testing the abilities of the people who came out here since the Kirijo had opened this course to the public. It was a great way to promote the area lately, to keep people's minds off of the tragedies and rumors that still swirled about the so-called Supernatural Hotbed. And here, he could ride freely...make a name for himself, perhaps. His bike was all tuned up, customized and ready...all that was left was to...

"In three, two, one..." he called out, raising an arm and lowering it all at once, a final signal for the race to begin.
