Jerry hadn't understood. Then again, Jordan had been purposefully obscure in his phrasing, and he wasn't sure he understood fully himself. There'd been some kind of turning point, a loose hinge where intent and action met, and it felt less insecure now, somehow. Jordan met Jerry's eyes in the mirror, not gentling his look. "He will."
He'd never doubted that Rep loved him, and he didn't now.
"Where does the trouble usually come in?" he asked after a moment. Nothing further to discuss.

"Oh uh...." At least the other man was smart enough to pick up on a change of subject, "Usually when a turn or something is involved- like...um. Upper lip is sometimes tricky for me, and at the neck- that's more nerve wracking than anything ahahaha..." he babbled, "But um. Mostly where the skin er... isn't smooth." He moved the blade away to cough, using a cloth to rinse what he had done so far. "Sure no goatee? Last chance!" He turned his head so Jordan could appraise the state of fuzziness that remained.

"You take that slow, I assume?" Jordan asked. He was developing a mild suspicion about the difficulties Jerry was having with shaving, but he wasn't about to assume.
He gave the remaining fuzz a look, then angled an eyebrow at Jerry, not saying a word.

Jerry beamed. And then frowned with a sigh, "Fiiiine, alright." He licked his lips, moving along to the mustache and chin area slowly and carefully. He'd hiss occasionally as the blade would slip, but like he had mentioned, the Fear Shield generally took care of those feauxpas.
Finally, it was just the craggy area left. "Um. Yeah, this is the bit um. I'd always have Sasha do," He murmured quietly, turning his head to examine the puffs that remained. "It's the little choppy motions..." He held his breath, now finally feeling nervous with the audience, but had at it carefully and slowly.

"It's good to see you taking better care of yourself," Jordan said after a moment. "I'd been worried."

What was exposed of Jerry's face now under the remnant lather flushed a bit, "Yeah well... people complain when I fall behind ahahaha... besides," he took a moment to carefully navigate a series of scar pockets, "I don't want to be single the rest of my life."

Jordan fell silent, studying Jerry thoughtfully in the mirror. "Is staying clean only for other people?" he asked after a pause,

"Well, no, there's hygiene and stuff, don't get me wrong, I brush my teeth... OW! " He hissed and stopped talking while shaving, shoving his tongue against the inside of his cheek to try to stretch it flatter.

Jordan leaned back on his elbows on the counter, a small frown furrowing the spot between his eyebrows. "Possibly hypocritical of me after I encouraged you to shave the beard," he said, "but what about keeping yourself groomed and dressed well just because that's how you like it?"

"Oh, I know, I know," He wove a hand as he wiped off his blade, moving to finish up the tricky part under his chin, "I just... forget sometimes and lose track. Higher priorities I guess... I mean..." He took a moment to finish, standing from his chair to rinse his face off in the sink and nabbed his towel again, "The ladies on the island seem just as unimpressed by me either way, ahaha..."

"Higher priorities?" Jordan asked, puzzled. Then his eyebrows twitched up slightly at the next comment. "I know you'd forgotten," he said, "but it's self-evidently not impossible for people to be interested in you."

Jerry shrugged, wiping his damp hands in his hair quickly before snapping his towel and straightening up with a weak smile, "Well, how's that? Look human again?"

"As close as we ever get." Jordan straightened up. "I still harbor hopes of influencing your sartorial decisions someday, but for now, I'll settle for the shave part. If I have to start texting you reminders about personal cleanliness, dude ... "

Jerry laughed nervously, wiping the blade off one more time before offering it to Jordan to examine, "Hopefully not. But here- so that's er... more or less how to shave with a straight razor. I guess you can see why I don't er...keep up with it that often."

Jordan turned the razor over in his hands and tested the edge with his thumb. "Certainly looks nicer than hacking away at the underbrush with a disposable. Kind of like meditation, maybe. I'll have to try that sometime."
