Jordan considered the question. "If you can be discreet about it," he decided. "The cafeteria is a good place to watch people coming and going, and it doesn't look weird for people to be just hanging out at a table for a while, so catch me at lunch sometime. Meanwhile, pay attention to the ways you react to various things. Not just emotionally, but what your body and face do in response to that."

"What am I hoping to do with my face exactly? Completely unreadable or?..." At this point it was safe to say Jordan was tinkering with the brainless design of Rep's minion quite effectively. No, Al was never truly brainless or stupid, but... well, he wasn't a master at his practice either.

"Don't try anything unusual yet. You're just figuring out what you do naturally. You have to know that first before you can start doing anything with it. Anyway, if you suddenly change your behavior it'll look suspicious and weird to people around you." Jordan set his empty cup on the counter. "Being sneaky is mostly about knowing how not to be noticed, and that means knowing what's normal and what's out of the ordinary -- because if something's out of place, it's way more likely to be noticed."

"Okay!" Al bobbed his head as his thoughts swarmed around the concept and seized it hungrily. This was brilliant and though now he was a lot more self-conscious, he allowed the corner of his lips to curl upwards into a tight little smile as the rest of him began to sway side to side rapidly with excitement.

Jordan eyed Al assessingly. He'd do all right. At the least, the kid would learn a few self-preservation skills; important in a division where your division lead was nearly as much a hazard as the creatures you faced on mission. "Good," he said with a nod, and smiled. "Thank you for the card. Very thoughtful of you."

Al finally settled down and lowered his gaze again with a light blush, "I'm glad you like it. I'm still working on one for Harrison. He likes unicorns right?" He looked hopeful.

Jordan laughed. "He does. You've been paying attention, huh?"

He nodded, "Mostly just people I like." He looked away and cleared his throat. "But um, yeah. I uh... you have a sink right for washing mugs?" He was looking around to wash his own.

"Oh, yeah." Jordan moved away from the counter; he'd been standing mostly in front of the small sink. "You can rinse it out there." He smiled approvingly; Al got points for being willing to clean up after himself.

Al knew better. He scurried over to scrub and wash his own mug then set it aside to dry. "I gotta get going though man. I will be taking you up on that offer though."

"Yes sir," he moved towards the door. He turned, smiled, then slipped out to go learn some things about himself.
