God of the gays The same reason they make any pokemon I imagine, because they can. I am not arguing that he can not be a dragon or that he should not be a lizard. I am just telling you the logic behind him being a flying type instead of a dragon. He is a fire lizard, then a fire lizard, and then he gains wings, therefore becoming a fire lizard who can fly. Kecleon is irrelevant as they made Charizard before they even knew Pokemon would be big enough to warrant more Pokemon. That is my two cents as to why Charizard might be a flying type originally instead of a dragon. Nintendo has made questionable type combinations though. Why make Gyarados both a water AND a flying type? And then why change is to water and dark when he mega-evolves? And most recently, why make the mega-evolution of Ampharos an electric AND dragon-type? In the first generation, Charizard couldn't even learn flying techniques but he could learn Dragon Rage through the use of a TM. It just feels like they flipped a coin and it landed on the side that would make them label his second type as flying.

I think they just burn sacks of money, get high from it and make pokemon up at this point.

Well of course they are, they've made over 600 at this point and it's obvious they're running out of ideas for each new clone they come up with. Only now they're pissing their pants because sales for the 3DS and WiiU were terrible and they might go the way of Sega, no longer making consoles but pimping their titles out to other companies for use.
