"Sorry," Laurence apologized when he noticed Magnolia's reaction. "I-- er-- stepped in something."
Despite the awkward situation, Laurence felt more relieved than embarrassed. He was glad that Magnolia was not alone, after all; of course she had not been the only trainer foolish enough to enter an unknown cave without the proper equipment nor backup (though Laurence had been foolish enough to follow with the same lack of preparation).
"What are you doing in here?" he asked; his tone was slightly accusatory, now that his relief had washed away. "It could be dangerous."

"I was interested," Magnolia responded, her tone a bit airy due to the refusal of releasing her pinched nose. A frown creased on her lips because of the direct tone the man was taking with her. "I can go where I please, Mr. Laurence, even with the dangers ahead -- I've survived contact with a legendary, I am sure I can brave a cavern."
Of course, said legendary happened to have to have the attitude of a child, but Magnolia never made that clear. Their reputation was all she cared for and she squandered it as a means to make her appear brave. Despite being fourteen, Magnolia did think highly of herself.

"Your Welcome Zak! Now lets see what this cave is all about!" He said with joy

Laurence frowned, but he did not press his point. "All right," he surrendered. He paused to scrape the feces off his shoe more thoroughly.
Kili spotted Rho from her perch on Laurence's shoulder. "(Your eyes are better than mine in the dark. Is there anything interesting in here?)" she queried.

Magnolia sidestepped away from Laurence's cleaning. She hoped no one came into contact with it as they were combing the walls.

Fifi dismounted, keeping a hand on Alastyn's saddle in case she tripped. Strange noises echoed off the walls and odd blasts of wind whistled through the cave as she stayed close to the group. Some people were clearly less bothered by this than Fifi was. "It's creepy in here..." she complained softly. Alastyn gave a large sigh, apparently unimpressed.
Cara wandered into the cave with Spirit still sitting atop her head. It was dark and dank and everything a cave should be. She caught up to Zak and Remmy quickly. "What the bloody hell made the two of you want to come in here?" She half-shouted in irritation. "I mean we're already in danger and suddenly a dark dangerous looking cave pops up and you say 'OH! Lets go look in there!'...brilliant!"
Spirit chittered in laughter. Cara was getting snippy. That tended to happen when Pokemon/people were in trouble.
Zak gave a small smile towards Remmy, "Your two optimistic some times," He turned to Cara as she arrived, "Well it is a cave in the middle of no where so why not, plus I could hold some clues to these mutated pokemon we keep seeing. We saw a Zubat not to long ago that had some interesting accessories with it." Zak explained.

At the roll of a die, Magnolia was positive something magical was going to happen.
The ground was slippery from sand that had blown its way into the cave. You took a tumble and find yourself caught in another spider web. Great. But what was this caught in the web as well?

Never mind the fact Magnolia explained she could take care of herself. The fall flung her straight into the center of a neatly spun spiderweb. The fourteen year old shrieked in terror as she tried to unravel the sticky thread from her face and hair, grabbing handfuls by the fistfuls and throwing them to the cave floor. During one of these moments, Magnolia crumbled something in her hand and threw it to the ground. Pausing at the sound, she strode forward and grabbed up the parchment again to read its contents.
The piece of paper didn't reveal much to her. Something about land? Buneary? B-Barbaric? The girl's eyes aligned to the the darkness of the cave that seemed to stretch into oblivion. Is that what they were hearing deep down into the cave? A Buneary? Or was it . . . She gulped at the sound of another high-pitched shriek. A victim of the Buneary? The girl showed the piece of paper around before pocketing it, figuring it would have some use later.
Cara sighed at Zak. "Because it could be a trap put here by whoever is mutating the Pokemon, in order to catch interlopers. D'uh." She moved forward slowly, not wanting to hurt herself or anyone else.
Cai followed Anise inside of the cave, the air did in fact grow cooler inside, but the echoing chatter of their companions grated on his ears. Something else, an eerie wariness made the small hairs on the nape of his neck stand on end. He rubbed them absently.
A girl ahead shrieked, and Fifi nearly leaped out of her skin. "S-stop that! It's creepy enough in here without people yelling!" Fifi said, clearly quite nervous and more than a little scared.

"Magnolia!" Laurence exclaimed, reaching out to help her back to her feet. He saw the ominous note and swallowed. Perhaps they really should turn around and leave before something worse happened.
He helped remove the sticky threads from Magnolia's clothing. "Are you hurt?" he asked with concern.
