I'd interact with you, but I'm stuck until something else occurs where I am. I intended my last post to be the catalyst for some stuff happening that would allow everyone to post, but I guess that's not what happened. Please, by all menas, keep posting. xD

Dead. crying

"Where am I?" Marie questioned in fear.

She cringed at the sound of a screeching noise.

"Whoever you are, go away! I'm not scared of you!"

The screeching suddenly stopped. Marie rubbed her temples, trying to regain her thoughts after the blow. She didn't want to stay here, either, so she searched the new room for an exit. All she could see was a wooden desk--the type that contained a large quantity amount of files, and a crimson red carpet covering the floor. Unfortunately, this room did not have any windows.

There must be more than this. Wait, what's that? She squinted at the ceiling, making out what seemed like a vent.

"Parfait!" She shouted in joy, quickly topping her mouth with her hands.

How am I going to get up there, though? She thought.

With all her strength, she pushed the heavy desk under the vent. What seemed like forever, she finally did her first task. Standing in her new elevation, she still was too short. She pouted, jumped to the floor, and grabbed the chair that was behind the desk. She made a second floor, and climbed on top of it. Now tall enough, she poked her fingers in the vent, and pushed the metal out the way.

When she pulled herself in the vent, she couldn't make out anything. It was sheer black. She crawled forward, and closed the vent behind her. She would have lost hope, but the slight drafts reassured her that there was an opening somewhere. After stumbling, and bumping her head on walls, she sees a faint glow in the distance.

She arrives at her destination, and peaks through the slits of the metal.

"It's a pretty steep fall from here. Wait, those are the two doors I was about to open," she said.

She slid the vent's door open, and emerged her legs, trying to get as close to the ground as she could to decrease the height of the fall. Soon, she was just hanging by her hands, and with one release, she plopped to the floor.

"Ouch," she moaned.

"D'accord, c'est le temps pour à découvrir quoi c'est derrière de la porte," said Marie.

She twisted the knob, and fell through.

She screamed, "what is up with this place?!"

Finally, she hit the ground, landing on what seemed to be hay.

"I do not want to be here anymore. There are ghosts, and my butler is nowhere to be found," she said. "Is anybody here?!"

She continued to stomp forward in irritation, and soon she spotted three humanoid silhouettes ahead. She walked towards the three figures and introduced herself, "Bonjour. Je m'appelle Marie. Et vous?"

Simultaneously, they all turned, cocking their heads in confusion.

"Oh, vous ne pouvez pas parler français, " she said awkwardly. "Hello. I'm Marie, and you?"

He turned his head to Marie and said, quickly, "Forgive me, but this may not be the best time for introductions."

"What do you mea-," Zuri cut herself off as she glanced in the boy's direction. She scowled, searching, then soon realized what his eyes were focused on. She then had a shocked expression on her face, gradually turning into glare.

"That's the stupid monster that knocked me out!" She spat in anger.

The shadow faced Zuri, and started to hover towards her. She stepped backwards, wondering if she could outrun the ghoul. Then, in an instant, what appeared to be the shadow's face was burning in a blitz of flames. The demon turned to its attacker, and leaped at him. The second ghoul followed its partner to aid in the onslaught.

"Isn't anyone going to help him?!" She shouted in desperation. When no response came, she wondered where the two others were. Apparently they fled. Zuri, unknown boy, and two evil spirits. Even though the battle field was even now, was it still a fair play? Who knew what these ghouls could possess, what powers they were capable of, or if even more of them were lurking in the shadows. Then on side B, two humans. One who has magical capabilities, and Zuri, what could she do? Anything could suffice in this moment.

She clutched one of the torches with both hands that were placed on the walls of the tunnel. Gathering her courage, she ran to the second spirit in a dicey attempt to fight it off.

*a small reptilian humanoid peeked her head through the front door of the entrance, she hated knowing that the room was so big and wide open with only one obvious exit, the front door, but the elders of her tribe had commanded her to seek this place out for some reason or another.
so she shook her head to get rid of the overwhelming size of the room, and she cautiously stepped inside and stayed near the wall, and in what little shadows the room had to offer, so not to accidentally provoke anyone or anything that might have latent hostility toward her or her kind. she slowly started making her way towards the other end of the room where she heard sounds coming from, and just hoped whatever was there, is friendly*
