When no one seemed have any further questions, she quietly bowed and turned, leaving the room. A scientist came in, dragging a bunch of chairs.

I snagged one and took a seat right up close to the glass, wondering what all this was about. Hopefully these rituals would be done before I had to head to work, even if I was working sleepless-- Hard enough to explain to my father why I didn't show up up at home, impossible if I didn't show up for work either.

After about 5 minutes I detected movements on the roof and there was Finita. She had removed her lab coat and clothes and had wrapped herself in a large white sheet. She had a large pair of bull horns under her arm as she was messing with something next to her. Seemed to be a winch of some kind; what looked like a coil of rope on a spool, ad the spool was connected to a machine that unwound it and wound it as per direction.

She had the rope in her hands and carefully lowered herself so she was dangling by the rope connected to the winch. She reached up and pressed a button, and it lowered her the rest of the way.

I watched her decend and smiled. I hoped nothing would harm that gentle scientist. She was clearly nervous, but she wanted to reassure us all, didn't she? It took guts. I respected that.

Once her bare feet hit the ground she let go of the rope and walked towards the forge, holding the horn in her hands. She looked at it as she reached the forge, looked hard at the horn and at the hammer and anvil.

Walking over to the supplies she grabbed a grill lighter from the various tool and lit the charcoal. She watched as it slowly spread, and she pulled out a can of flammable oils and started spreading it onto the fire, hoping to make the flames rise faster. Soon she had the whole thing going, and she picked up the hammer.

((Let the ritual begin! And now, for some appropriate music to go with it!))

Setting down the bull horn onto the anvil, she smashed it with the hammer, pounding it over and over again until the horn had been reduced to small chunks. She then turned and threw the pieces of horn into the fire.

Taking the steel rods she stuck them into the fire as well. Something was odd about the way Finita moved now. I only knew her for a about an hour at most, but the way she was moving was different. She moved with more confidence as she looked at the metals and she seemed to snort in disapproval. She waited patiently as the rods started to heat up, glowing orange, before grabbing a pair of tongs.

Pulling a piece of steel out of the fire she laid it against the anvil and started to pound it hard with the hammer. I could hear the ping of hammer against anvil from here, through the thick glass. She continued to work, refining that piece of metal and then the others. This continued on a while, and eventually she started shaping the refined steel into something wide and flat...

Cecelia sat in one of the seats provided. She was unsure what was going to happen. She watched curiously, if a bit stunned as the young scientist was lowered into the ground behind the thick glass wearing nothing more than a sheet. The woman worked diligently on the fire until it was blazing hot. It must be sweltering in there now.
As the metal thrown into the blaze, she became riveted. She watched as the metal started to glow with the heat around it. She felt like she was watching something from back in time. Like those medieval books she liked to read in the library about the smiths that forged weapons and armor.
Cecelia waited patiently to see what was going to happen. For a moment she glanced at the other woman around her. But she couldn't gauge there emotions from their faces.
Her attention turned back to the scene before her as the Finita began pounding the metal into a flat sheet.

I continued to watch intently as Finita worked. She was still pounding away diligently at the metal.

The object was starting to take shape now; it was starting to look like, I recognized, a pole-arm; I think it was a halberd? The handle was long and seemed to be thick; hard to tell at this distance. The head of the weapon had a rather large curved axe head, a spike at the very tip, and on the other edge a blade like you would find on a dagger.

Around this time Finita's skin started to go red... it could be considered a case of heat rash, but why would heat-rash make one look like a bright red boiled lobster? She was also sweating a great deal, probably from the hard work. She wiped her forehead and got up, the halberd leaning against the anvil. There was a very large 10 gallon jug of water nearby which she hefted surprisingly easily and started to drink from. She drank about 1/3rd of it in one go before sitting back down at the anvil again and sticking the head of the halberd back into the fire. She had an incredible focus on this task; almost like she was in a trance.

As the head heated up she started pulling out other tools. Tweezers, smaller hammers, tiny ceramic scissors, even a pair of jeweler's glasses. She left the halberd head in there for a while, before pulling it back out and starting to add flourishes to the weapon's blade.

Her hands as she worked became a flurry of activity, and it was hard to tell what the details were at this distance. One thing I did notice though... the pole-arm was massive compared to the tiny woman. The thing had to be at least 20 feet long... to her tiny 5'5".

I then noticed something else. The sheet around her was starting to stir, billowing as if the wind was blowing hard around her. I then looked at her more closely, and I saw that her skin was starting to... mist? No-- she was emitting steam! And she hadn't noticed at all, with how into her work she was. I watched as the stem started to billow outward and away from her, eventually obscuring her and the forge from view...

Well, I said. That ain't normal.

Celeste looked down but looked up again. She was very interested now. She wondered if each one of them had to do it the exact same way. She also wondered what the outcome would be. She waited for the steam to disappear. She also hopped that Finita was okay.

Ratchet blushed at his older college's comment. They would start soon though whatever the reason was something didn't feel right about this. Like maybe they shouldn't even be tampering with anything at all. It was too late for that anyway and soon he watched as Finita got to work. Though what the heck was she doing?

Watching her begin to forge something he crossed his arms. Here he thought this was going to be something completely different. Not everyone getting a lesson in how medieval weapons was being created. Though the more he watched, the more he grew worried for Finita. Just what the heck was happening?

Ratchet couldn't believe his eyes, was steam pouring out of her body!? When the room was completely engulfed in the steam the sounds of the metal could still be heard. His heart was pounding..just what was going on here?

After a while, the sounds of metalworking stopped. I leaned closer towards the glass. What was going on in there?

~~~
Finita slowly came out of her trance and she looked down at the weapon she had created. It was hard to see through the steam that had filled the massive pit, but she has the end of it in her lap and looked at the detail of it; it looked like the end of a highly decorated weapon. Picking it up, she registered mentally that it was rather heavy... yet she picked it up with ease.
She stood from where she had been sitting on the ground and held it up, looking over it carefully. It was at least a good foot taller then her... wait... when did she get so tall?
She looked down at herself then, and she blinked at what she saw; a tall, wide and heavily muscled body covered in a bright red layer of fur the color of her hair. Her legs changed below the waist, and now had a pair of snowy white cloven hooves. Her hands still looked the save, other then being bigger and covered in fine bright red fur.
Reaching up to her face she felt that she had a bit of a snout now... Her nose had changed shape slightly... Her guess was that it was still fairly humanoid in shape... Reaching upward even further she felt that she had bull horns. Her ears had turned long and floopy, and her hair was now a long, thick mane. In the steam it was wet and it stuck to her.
Well, she thought to herself. That explains why the book recommended not to wear clothes during this one. Looking around, she realized that this was the half-way point-- where the book left off.
Finita scratched her head, before reaching down and wrapping the sheet around her again, this time more securely like a toga to keep her modesty. Now that she was bigger it fit more like a toga on her and she didn't feel like she was wearing a tent. She then noticed that the sheet was billowing around her like a wind coming from below. She realized... the steam was coming from her!
She hurriedly stepped over to where she clearly remembered the jug to be, and picked it up effortlessly, before starting to down the whole bottle. When she finished she wiped her mouth.
She looked at her hands and at her well muscled arms. The muscles were like that of a very well exercised female athlete; not so over the top to be like a bodybuilder.
The rituals must have transformative effects. She said quietly to herself.
{Indeed.} Said a voice in the mist. It spoke in a different language she was not familiar with, yet she understood it perfectly. {Come to me through the steam, New Young Child of Minos. I am here to give you your final test to keep this form.}
She blinked at the seam in-front of her, before picking up the halberd and carefully stepped through through the swirling steam. She realized she remembered the whole room with fine detail, enough so she could pinpoint the voice's location perfectly. Stepping towards it she came to another Minotaur. He stood tall and proud, with deep brown fur and deep brown eyes. He wore a glowing purple crystalline armor and had his arms crossed over his chest. He had a big claymore on his back.
He stepped forward and offered a hand to shake. {Welcome, Finita, your name was? It has been ages since this world bore a worthy Minos.}
~~~

I peered through the mist. I heard Finita say something quietly, probably to herself, before another voice cut through the misty room. I could hear it, but couldn't understand it; the language was strange, but it seemed to roll off the tounge of the speaker, kind of like listening to waves on a beach. It was very deep, and I couldn't tell where in the mist it was coming from...

Cecelia stood as the mist rose. It obscured the little scientist and what she was doing, only sound remained. She was confused and fascinated. Briefly she has glimpsed redskin on the woman, but it could have been due to the heat.
Now the girl, pressed her hands on the glass.It was warm against her hands. She was anxious and insanely curious. There was so much steam. Was the woman suffocating from the heat and heavy air? Was she okay? Did someone need to go in there? She frowned, squinting to try and see something. Anything.
Then she heard the voices. Faintly, but there. One was deep and rough, obviously male and a little ominous. She could understand a word he spoke, but the voice sent nervous butterflies to flutter around her stomach.
"S-should we help her?" Cecelia asked. Yet see couldn't seem to make her voice more than a whisper.

Emma looked through the steam but could see nothing. She wondered what was going on. One of the girls had started to panic. Emma then heard the voice and it seemed to calm her. "I think she is okay. Something tells me she is." She stood up as she waited for her own turn which would be next. It would probably take a few minutes since Finita was not done in there.

(wait everyone has to make a weapon right for the transformation to happen?)

Lara wasn't easily fooled. She could tell that there must have been some type of sound system in the other room to fool all those girls who were weak. They were going to freak out and run home to their mommys and daddys. The woman pushed her hair back and continued to watch and see what happened.

Alexis frowned when the voice came out of nowhere. There shouldn't have been anyone else in there. The man stepped in front of the chamber door. He was going to go in, but stopped. He didn't know what was in there an if he opened the door then whatever was in there could get out. He couldn't risk the lives of everyone for just one. He stood in front of the door and waited. When the room cleared up so they could see then he would open the door.

Slowly the steam started to evaporate. As this happened, they were greeted by two large figures that, as the steam wafted away, were revealed to be two minotaurs!

My eyebrows went up as I looked on; one was female and had blood red fur and green eyes. She held the Halberd Finita had been forging in her hand. She was standing in-front of another, this one male, wearing glowing and royal looking bright purple armor, with dark brown fur and brown eyes. They appeared to be talking.

Is that red one... Finita? ... She's turned into a Minotaur! ... That's SO COOL! I wanna go 3rd! I said, eyes wide and sparkling.

~~~
She stepped a bit closer as the steam started to clear. she took his offered hand and shook it.
{Worthy Minos? Are you saying that Asterion, the minotaur of the Labaryth, wasn't a good example?}
He shook his head. {He could have been, but he was raised as a monster. That blasted king doesn't deserve the right to be called Minos.}
She blinked, her ears wiggling. {I see. So what is this test?}
{A simple test of strength.} He said, eying her up and down. {To help you get more comfortable in your new form.} He was starting to get a rather lecherous grin.
She blushed, though it was hard to tell through her crimson fur, and she covered her rather large bosom with her arms. {S-Skirt Chaser!}
He laughed, before his head suddenly jolted forward as if he got hit upside the head by something behind him. He glanced around before souring to nothing in particular, {Sorry honey!}
She raised an eyebrow at him.
{My wife....}
{Your Wife?}
{Give me a break! I haven't had a pulse in several thousand years!}
She blinked at him in confusion, with a slight shake and a tilt of her head, getting that iconic "WTF?" look.
{Anywho, but that's not important. The test! We can either spar or go for something like just a straight out push match...}
{And if I don't take it?} She asked.
{You'll keep steaming.} He said. {And then you'll die of dehydration. It's like sweating see, only your body ejects the heat though the water and hits the air as steam. Makes you practically immune to heatstroke, but it's nasty when you get to colder climates. I recommend furs. Lots of furs if you go somewhere cold.}
She blinked, her stance relaxing some as she looked at one of her bare arms, seeing steam still flowing from her skin. {... I will remember that.}
{Good!} He made his right hand into a fist before slamming it right into his chest-plate, causing it to ring loudly with a almost bell like chime, over his heart in a salute. Then he bowed.
She did the same (though the salute was done with considerably less force as she wasn't wearing armor). She then lifted her halberd and spun it on her fingers like a baton, before slamming it tip first into the soil next to her. They both got into a wide sturdy stance, and they locked fingers with each other.
{You ready?}
She nodded.
He nearly topped her over with his sheer strength. Her hooves left gouges in the soil as he started to push forward. Then her expression hardened into a focused look as her sliding stopped.
They both stood there, both starting to shake, locked seemingly into a stalemate. He grinned and took the opportunity to lower his head to look at her chest again...
This pissed off Finita, who lowered her head and headbuted him hard with a loud crack as their skulls met.
The Minos man laughed hard as she stepped back from the force of the blow, his ears wiggling and he let go of her hands.
{Well done! Well done! Ack!} He laughed hard, before another whack from nowhere sent his head jolting forward.
{You pass! You pass!} He bellowed, covering his head with his hands as three more whacks quickly followed it. {Coming my mistress!}
He turned and darted for the still steamy area of the courtyard pit, And Finita quickly followed.
{I didn't catch your name, Mr. Bull of Minos Spirit!} She cried out as she stepped through the steam, only to find that he was gone.
She looked about, ears wiggling, before looking down at herself in her toga dress. She smiled, before turning and putting her fingers to her lips and whistling very loudly.
Several men in construction clothes approached over the rooftop to look down at her.
CLEAR EVERYTHING OUT! She bellowed up at them, before running across the pit and grabbing her halberd on the way, and jumping straight up and onto the roof, and out of sight of the watchers.
The men in construction outfits quickly got to work, waving away the last of the steam and putting out the forge, before starting to haul everything out of the pit. This went on for about ten minutes before Finita approached the group. A gold pendent depicting a bull's head was dangling about her neck, and she wasn't holding her halberd; she had also somehow shrunk to a good 8 feet tall (just small enough that she had to duck a little to keep from hitting her horns on the top of the doorframes) She had a human's tool belt dangling over her shoulder, as there was no way it would fit on her, and she had a large book under her arm as well as a clipboard in her hand. She was flicking through the paperwork.
So... next we have Celeste yes? You wanted to go next? She glanced at the battered woman. Tucking the clipboard under her arm to started to flip through the book, as if looking for something specific...
"Y....Yes...... I'm ready." She walked towards Finita. She was a little nervous now that she saw what Finita had tuned into. "What exactly am I suppose to do. I guess I should get out of my clothes now before going in right? She was really reluctant to do so but if it was required then she would have to do it.
Well this was...interesting? Ratchet stared at her with disbelief in his eyes. Inside the chamber were two MINOTAURS! Not one..but two!? How? What? When? So many questions were flowing through his mind. Things just seemed to get even more strange when Finita left the chamber. She had horns, and hooves!
That short, and cute, little woman that used to hide behind her books had somehow changed into a tall bull woman!? Furrowing his brows the scientist was beginning to think that maybe this was a bad idea. Heck, he studied science not magical mumbo-jumbo!
"I think we should stop. That book is obviously too dangerous..it either should be burned or locked away never to see the light of day." he commented with slight fear in his voice.
"To think I'm helping subjugate innocent women into becoming monsters that shouldn't even exhist at all! This...is unnatural! I-I mean, l-look at yourself Finita! You've got horns, and hooves, and a snout...a-are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked obviously afraid now.
What if there was some dark magic involved? What if every woman exposed to this turned on the world in a plot to destory it or something? Ratchet wouldn't have that! He couldn't! Though maybe he was just worrying too much?
Right now he wasn't sure what he thought anymore. This was just all too weird.
As the scene unfolded before her, many emotions washed through Cecelia. Two Minotaurs stood before her inside the glass of the forge. They spoke in a language she could not understand, but the rumble of it gave her goose flesh.
She was filled with denial first. There was no way it could be real. Was this all an elaborate joke? Something to shock them all? Yet, something inside knew is was real. This filled her with a fear. Minotaurs weren't exactly friendly in the legends she read. She remembered the shy scientist as she was and wondered if she would became a monster now.
However, as the two creatures battled and the ritual came to an end, Cecelia felt a new emotion. Awe. Awe that the legends she imagined herself in could be real. That she might actually be a part of those stories, instead of waking up to wonder if she could find her next meal in the garbage or go hungry again.
Somehow, this whole thing became less scary, and a lot more exhilarating. She smiled a little, wondering at this whole situation. She really hoped she didn't wake up this time.
Cecelia blinked, realizing she had been distracted and there were now construction workers behind the glass. She blushed and turned around to see an eight foot tall minotaur woman. Her jaw opened. She had known she was bigger, but still.... She was huge!
About that time, she started getting the giggles. How often did one see a mythical creature with a clipboard asking for the next patient. Cecelia collapsed into a chair, laughing herself sick.
Alexis was amused as he watched the little show. He was going to have some fun with a few experiments that came to mind. He watched as his research teammate stared in disbelief and questioned what they were going. Those thoughts would never do. "Ratchet. We didn't force them to do this, they are coming willingly. What have you fallen in love with one of them. Have you lost your passion for science. Think of what we could do with our knowledge and there genes."
Lara looked at the woman. She was not the same as she was before. The girl pulled away. "I don't want to be ugly, I want to be a creature that is really cool and kick butt." she commented. She hoped she wasn't a centaur.
