"You're GROWING it?!" Who was this person?! What was Rin doing growing drugs?! "Why are you even growing it? How long? Do you know what sort of trouble you could get into if they find out?" He couldn't believe she was doing something like this!

"Uh, try none?" Rin hiked her brow even higher up her forehead. "It's an herb with medicinal properties. It is a good subject for research and study. I'm just careful with whoever receives it and for what purpose since I'm fairly certain we don't want mishaps caused by being intoxicated in any manner while on-duty." Needless to say, she did not partake herself.

"It's a drug, and I don't think it's something any one higher up would be happy you are researching. They'd probably think you were...were...I don't now - making Halloween-pumped weed." This was just something he could ignore. "I don't want you to get thrown in a pod over something stupid like this. There are eyes everywhere, and who knows what some hunter would do to you to get some weed. Just imagine someone like Jerry starting a fight because he needs a fix." He did not want her to get hurt.

"Christ Melvin, it's just weed and the ******** infirmary is full of harder drugs that they just... hand to you." She shook her head. "And my research specifically stated no fear-experiments with plants. They could kill people. I've not been tempted anyway. Normal plants are amazing enough on their own."

He breathed out. At least Rep wouldn't try to kill her - well, not for something like not giving him drugs. From what Melvin could tell, Rep was a business man with issues like that.
"So you are planning to expand your little business?" He ran a hand through his hair, feeling worked up over this new revelation.

He gave a heavy sigh as he regarded the issue and then Rin. "Alright. Just....be careful. I don't get it, but - I just can't be thinking about this right now." He didn't need to be addressing issues of drug dealing when he was just happy Rin was alive and was tired from not sleeping and felt like his skin was crawling every minute.
Breathing out again, he looked over at her. "I don't want to talk about this. I'm going to ignore it. Okay." He didn't approve, but he didn't have it in him to fight with her on this. They were alive, and she needed to recover. "You should get some sleep or something. You're still healing." He gestured at the piles of snack foods he brought. "And eat something."

Rin nodded her head before settling right back down, "Okay."
"I'm not very hungry right now," she admitted finally. "But I will as soon as I am. I promise." She eyed him over thoughtfully. "All I need right now is a Melvin."

"I'm not going anywhere." He told her, moving off the bed to clear the snacks and drinks and set them on the nightstand. He unscrewed the cap to the water and left it open for her to grab and drink if she became thirsty in the middle of the night. Once he was sure everything was cleared away, he left to wash his hands...and arms....and face.
He returned after, leaving on the bathroom light as he did with the light in this room, and went to the chair next to her. "You go and sleep, okay. I'll be right here."

Rin sighed lightly and shifted to watch Melvin. She slid her arm out and offered her hand once he seemed comfortable. "I'll be fine to go by tomorrow I'm sure."

He set a hand down on the bed to rest his head on, and used the other to hold her hand. "Don't push yourself. Okay?" He gave her hand a little squeeze to further his point.
