One! Two! Th-!
A heartbeat away from failure, Salem subconsciously bucked a shoulder up defiantly to break the count and spare himself a few more moments to turn things around. The audience erupted at the near-fall, urging the Freshman Phenom to keep fighting as the lad lay prone on the canvas, still not having recovered from the killer slam.

Jarel wasn't exactly surprised. He'd instinctively gone for the pin, and it was a close one. But the fight would continue and Jarel loved a challenge. He stands again and attempts to pull Salem to his feet as well, then irish whip him to the corner. From here the Dragon would charge in with a splash against the turnbuckle

Jarel wasn't letting up, even as he pulled the rookie Salem back up to his feet in attempt to throw him towards the nearest turnbuckle. The crowd now on their feet as well, they chanted and cheered for the Charismatic One to regain his footing as he stumbled recklessly into the corner, The Dragon charging forth to swoop in for the kill. But just as Jarel jumped, Salem's legs sprang into action, lifting him up to bounce off the middle rung and towards Damone, directly - looking to intercept the veteran with a flying clothesline!

charging in, Jarel finds himself caught in a manuever he loves to use himself. His own momentum works against him as Salem takes him down with a flying clothesline, momentarily leaving him down on the mat again

The crowd popped as Salem soared into his opponent and leveled The Dragon with his mid-air lariat, Jarel landing on his back while Salem bellyflopped to the mat. Still, he'd managed to land nearby the downed Damone, and draping his arm across the vet's chest Salem tried to attempt another opportunistic cover!

Jarel actually sits straight up to break this pin and the crowd cheers. The Dragon turns his head to the side to look at the newcomer, watching him as he pushes himself to his feet

Salem didn't see it as he lay face-down on the mat, but he could feel the strength of Jarel sitting up to break the count, rising up from a clothesline Croft swore decapitated The Dragon. Instead, the hardcore legend only gazed blankly over at the rookie, who'd rolled shoulder over shoulder across the ring, resting on his forearms. For an instant, a flash of frustration burst through the Freshman Phenom's features as he suddenly slammed his taped fists into the mat with an irritated grunt. 'What will it take to keep this guy down?' he must've thought as he pushed himself back to a vertical base.

Jarel has a small smile on his face now. he'd seen that tiny bit of frustration. It only took that one thing to show him what he needed to know. Meanwhile, he still had to keep bringing the fight to the rookie. So as Salem rises to his feet, Jarel looks to meet him with a stiff right to the jaw

As they both reached their feet, the fans' cheering reached a climax as it was the veteran throwing the first punch, looking to take the rookie to the School of Hard Knocks. But the fearless freshman didn't back down, not even stepping back as the hook hit him in the jaw. His anger numbed the impact, but that didn't keep his head from snapping to the side before he fired back with a counter cross of his own!

This time, Jarel reaches up to block the shot and looks to throw a few more of his own, repayment for the shots he'd left himself open for earlier in the match

Salem was getting tired, and his senses weren't as sharp as they had been prior to the match beginning. This time, Jarel deflected the freshman's fist and rocked the rookie with more hard shots, stunning him and forcing the rookie back a couple steps. Against the ropes, Salem pulled his forearms up and in, trying to weather through the storm of strikes long enough to find his footing again!

Jarel pauses in his strikes, just long enough for Salem to let down his guard, and then throws a hard shot at his ribs, trying to knock the wind from him

Jarel's hesitation gave Salem a second to collect himself and act on instinct, reflexively catching Jarel's low-hanging hook by the wrist to reverse their positions by using a slight boost from the ropes he was propped against. In the process, the M.W. Deuce would try turning the tables by taking a shot at Jarel's jaw - trying a turnaround European Uppercut that Croft coyly called the "One-Hitter Quitter!"

(let me know if i interpreted this right)
Jarel finds the roles reversed again, putting the Dragon's back against the ropes. Almost immediately, an uppercut strikes him and the Dragon flips backwards out over the top rop. He lands on his feet but stumbles back and leans against the barricade, a tad dizzy from all the turnaround involved in the latest exchange
