"A glamour, you say? Oh, what I'd give to learn that trick. You'll have to teach me sometime," he laughed. At Llyr's story of the iron flakes, Renaud shook his head, "Not to worry; quite understandable. Such an inhospitable wretch deserves whatever comes to him." His mood seemed to sour briefly until Llyr took a drink, and then the man perked right back up again, happy to see the spirit enjoy the rum (for clearly Llyr had).
With a broad grin, Renaud waved his assent to Soibhan, even as she drank the rum, amused by the Gael's comment. "A lady after my own heart, I see. I shall have to guard myself against your advances!" he winked at Soibhan. "Of course you're welcome to a drink. All of you are," he glanced around the group -- to Darcy and Rose and even the governess -- with an inviting nod.
Glastyn made happy little noises as Rose scratched in all the right spots. While he was being pampered, he stretched his nose out to meet Lochlan's, inquisitive of the larger animal. But when his scritches were interrupted, Glastyn immediately snorted and pressed up against Rose that there might be no room between them. Renaud chuckled. "I don't think he wants you to stop. Can't say I blame him; your touch was quite pleasing to the little fellow." It were almost as though the excitable fawn's delight had surged through the growing bond between Glastyn and Renaud.
The man finally gave Llyr some room to breath when a new face appeared and he had to shrink down to meet Livy eye-to-eye. "Pardon me, my dear. What did you say?" he asked kindly. Either he was pretending or Renaud really hadn't heard her chide him.
(Sorry this is a bit long. Trying to respond to everyone, lol. Will try to post a little more often to keep things shorter in the future.)

Rose blinked and tilted her head at Renaud rather in the manner of a confused terrier as she almost unconsciously resumed her fussing over the little buck. There was something about both what the rum-soaked sailor had said and the way he'd said it that made her think she was missing something, but she hadn't the faintest notion what it could be, and honestly the crowd around Llyr was a bit dizzying in its diversity.
The warrior-woman on the horse was fascinating in a terrifying sort of way, and Rose was quite sure she had no idea what to make of the young woman who was now glaring at Renaud. "Um. Thank you? I'm glad he's... enjoying it, yes," she said, nodding slightly at the end as if in the hopes that it wasn't a foolish thing to say.

The girl's frown turned perhaps a bit petulant. "I said, let Llyr go. You're being very rude." If she considered her own blunt words to be rude as well, she didn't let on. Instead, she gave her best impression of her governess when she was chiding Livy about something - the one that almost managed to make her squirm. It was generally known that if Livy were a lesser girl, it really would make her squirm.

Darcy watches the proceedings with a sort of amused half-smile as events continue to become more and more strange. Hardly the least of them being Livy's sudden reappearance. The girl certainly has a fire in her, that's for sure. A good thing, too, with what they might all expect of the future.
Considering which...
"I think I'll take a sip of that too, if you don't mind?" She holds out her hand to Soibhan, grins a bit, and then downs a healthy swallow, grimacing only faintly as it burns a path down her throat and warms her belly. It's not nearly as bad as some of her own potions, but it certainly does have a kick to it...
"I'm Darcy, by the way. I don't think I ever properly introduced myself. What an interesting lot we all are, wouldn't you say?"

Glastyn continued to nuzzle up against the young Rose. Renaud glanced over to the pair, grinning like the cat who caught the canary, but he said no more to Rose as Livy piped-up again.
"Oh, I do apologize, my dear. You wanted a drink, too?" he offered his second flask to the young girl with a smile. "This one's a bit more on the mellow side; I'm afraid you'll have to wait if you wanted something stronger," he nodded toward the first flask, which was still being passed around.
As Darcy introduced herself, the man straightened to a stand and left Livy with his second flask, if she was so inclined. "Introductions, of course! You are right, dear girl, I have been rude." He patted the observant child on the head and turned toward the group. With a flourish and a bow, the well-dressed man gave his name, "Renaud Gadsby, at your humble service. And that little scamp over there would be the ever-affectionate Glastyn."
