She gave a happy nod, running her fingers along it's wooden frame "of course I still have it, it's my good luck charm" Ruby smiled lightly, watching him look at all the stickers. She was shocked he actually remembered some of them to be fair. "Well I have been buying a sticker in whatever town I'm in to gig" she explained, pointing to her most recent one for the town they were now leaving. It was a sticker of a pirate ducky. There was no real theme to her stickers, some were cute and some were rock looking. A mixture of her personality.
"I have some new material on this pad yeah, I have one song I'm going to try out at tonight's show, it's going to be my first solo so I have no idea how it's going to be or with anyone will like it"

Josh smiled and softly touched her cheek. "Hey, you've got a beautiful voice. I think everyone will love it." he cooed softly trying to encourage her the way he used to do. Meeting her eyes his smile grew a little as a faint blush fell upon his cheeks.
"I know I can't wait. I haven't heard you sing..in a very long time." he said removing his hand from her cheek and returning to his seat across from her. "Knowing you, I bet you've got a cute outfit to go with your theme. You did that all the time when you would sing." he chuckled.
It probably hadn't changed much either. Ruby was sort of predictable at times. As the van drove on, they stopped at a fast food joint for lunch. Josh and Ruby were sort of left in the van as the other members dashed off into the resturant.
He chuckled at that, sort of remembering a few of them when they were younger. Looking at Ruby he smiled. "Are you and your tummy alright with this food? I could just pop into one of those 24 hour stores and make you a sandwich or something." he asked quietly with concern to her.

His had felt a little cold on her cheek as she blushed, but luckily her make-up hid the colour somewhat. "Hey, my voice might of gotten worse over the years with all the screaming and shouting I've been doing" she chuckled "all the greats train their voices to scream and it cuts up your throat!.. I'm too much of a chicken to do that.. I don't really want to cough up blood.."
The guys would always say she was a chicken for not building up her voice like that, but it was tougher on a woman's vocal cords then it was for males. "Actually my outfits are usually torn up things clothes and things like that" she admitted.
As they stopped, she rolled her eyes and stayed put in the van, not wanting to eat anything in there. It was then Josh mentioned her child and if they could handle the type of food being offered. "No, yummy greasy things don't really agree with me right now.. which sucks, cause you me.. I love a big fat cheeseburger!" Ruby sighed, rubbing a crease out of her dress. "You don't need to do that by the way.. I can wait till dinner or something.. or after the show"

Josh chuckled taking a seat next to her. "Oh I know! I remember when we both first got jobs, greasy fat cheeseburgers were all you wanted to eat." he laughed smiling at her. Wrapping an arm around her shoulder he cherished the small time they were having together.
Looking at her stomach, which wasn't really showing, he wondered just what she would look like later? Looking up into her eyes he smiled and his blush deepened. "Are you sure? We could get something else? I remember seeing a sub place. I mean you have to eat something, you're carrying life now. It's important." he said with concern not realizing he absentmindedly placed his hand on her stomach.
Staring into her eyes he kissed her cheek. "I'm just looking out for you..that's all." removing his hand he laughed nervously. "S-Sorry Ruby I don't know what's come over me!"

The thought of a big, fat, juicy cheeseburger sounded both amazing and gave a queasy feeling in her stomach. She wished so much for the day when she could eat yummy things again. "Well of course I did. They both tasted amazing and were cheap! We were students on a short budget you know." she then realised she was still kinda living off change in her pockets day by day, which was a little depressing.
As Josh talked about the importance of eating in her 'condition', she didn't realise where his hand had wondered to. He was gentle so it wasn't easy to feel his touch. "I guess we could go eat something.. I can tell you won't quit.. I remember what you're like" Ruby teased till a bright colour flushed her cheeks as he kissed her skin. "No no.. it's fine!" she said slightly stuttering. "That's what friends do right?..."

Standing he held his hand out to her. "Let's get something to eat before it's too late then." he smiled happily staring down at her. "You look very pretty actually. I always liked it when you dressed up. Not that your punk outfits are ugly or anything, some of them are cute as well." he blushed shyly.
Man he was just Mr. Awkward today wasn't he?

She took Josh's hand before sliding the doors open so they could both hop out. Once the door was shut, she waved to the window of the fast food joint so her band mates could see she was leaving the van. It looked as though they were tucking into something greasy which made her look away quick in fear of puking. On Josh's comment about her appearance made her laugh. "This is actually the only dress I have really these days.. but yeah.. I had to look all nice and pretty for the people I had to go see and all that junk"

"Well I think you look lovely." he happily commented as they headed for the little sandwich store down the block. "How are you going to cope with a big belly later thought?" he asked as they entered.
There weren't a lot of people in the place tonight, so they both could be alone and talk. "I don't mean to sound rude Ruby, I was just curious." he shyly blushed. "Order whatever you want first."
He waited for her to order and her response. Josh always thought she looked lovely in dresses.
(sorry for the derpy reply xP)

(lol, it's not derpy.. shh! x)
When asked the question about her stomach, Ruby almost froze in the doorway of the sandwich shop. It was a really strange question to ask which is why it hit her full on in the face like a dead fish. As she was about to answer, Josh spoke first, saying she should order something before they discussed anything or have his question answered. There were so many yummy fillings but she had to think logically and figure out what she could handle "umm I think I'll play it safe with chicken salad filling" she said out loud in a mumble while still reading the menu. "what about you? see anything you fancy?"

"I'll probably have the same. I usually order something with meat, but I don't want to make you sick." he softly replied. As their orders were placed, they picked a table to sit at.
"I hope my question didn't frighten you earlier. I was just curious, because I doubt you'd want your bare belly to be seen on the stage while you perform." he said looking down at her small bump. She probably wouldn't want to be caught with it uncovered at all honestly.
Ruby was a shy one and he knew that she would be so embarassed if the world saw her bump later in months. Of course it would be hard to hide later, hopefully she would be done touring when it was time to birth her child.
Man he had baby on the brain tonight. Looking out the window he bit his lip. "Ruby..are you going to give up your baby for adoption?" he quietly asked her, "There are only a few times when you wear dresses, during something fancy and when you're doing something professional that requires formal wear." he stated.

She smiled at Josh's kindness of eating something that wouldn't make her stomach churn with the smells radiating off it. Luckily there was hardly anyone around to order anything unhealthy and full of fats. "Thanks, you didn't have to that you know. You can have some greasy bacon and sausage sandwich or something like that if you want.."
Ruby took her seat in a nice booth, she liked them for their soft seats and you could always sneakily put your feet up without anyone noticing. "Nah, you didn't frighten me. It's a good question actually. Well I have a tank top thing for tonight so my tummy won't be showing. And black is a good colour to hide it a little anyway. Then I might resort to big leather jackets further along. I mean, who wants to see a fat person waddle around on stage? I doubt it would be entertaining.." she shrugged lightly, knowing most people going wouldn't want to see that.
As their sandwiches arrived, Josh seemed a little distant and quiet. She didn't want to pester him about it, so just started to eat before he blurted out something she didn't expect. Her eyes looked every scared at the question, almost as if she was caught for doing something bad. Ruby didn't think anyone would suss what was going on, but Josh clearly did. He knew her too well, more then anyone even after all those years. "How did you..... know?"

"I just know you." he softly replied taking her hand. "Carrying a man's child, who just used you, has to be rough. You're too sweet to think of abortion, plus I know you don't just do things without putting a lot of thought into it." he softly stated with a kind smile.
"They looked like nice people too. I'm sure your child will be happy. Don't worry, I won't stop you, it's your life after all and your baby." he said giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
"Like I said, you don't get dressed up for nothing. I bet you didn't even plan on me showing up huh? It's not my child...but the option of me being here to help raise your baby is also there. We will be traveling together for a while, perhaps through your whole pregnancy as well. You have plenty of time to think about what you really want to do, but I will support you no matter what you choose. That's..what friends do...plus I love you. If I could go back in time I would have knocked you up first." he shyly blushed.
Letting go of her hand he began to eat. "Are you afraid? Being pregnant and everything?" he asked tenderly.

She listened to what Josh had to say, looking very pale and worried he would shout at her for even considering giving her child up like that. In movies and TV shows, the woman would be shunned and always told to change her mind, which is what scared her about Josh knowing.
But he didn't shout or curse of judge her from what she could tell. Even Ruby blushed too at one of his final comments on him wishing he was the one to put her in the situation. She thought the same way since she found out, wishing they had gotten together all those years ago. But it was too late.. wasn't it?
After all of that, Ruby didn't feel like eating but knew she had to if she was going to do her show that need. She needed to energy for the little one atleast. "It's not so much being afraid.. it's more of the fact that I don't think I can give them the life they deserve.." Rudy sighed, tucking into her sandwich that was actually quite tasty. "I'm single, no home, a job tha'ts actually a hobby and doesn't pay enough to support myself, let alone a child.."

Josh saw her point and quietly nodded as she spoke. Eating as well he wouldn't say another word about it. Maybe during the later months she would have a change of heart, but it would ultimately be her decision. Nothing was set into stone until the end after all. Once they finished eating and made their way back to the bus he draped an arm over her shoulder. "Ruby, I'm here for you. Anytime you need a shoulder or someone to talk to I'll be here." he softly said with a smile before letting her go and allowing her some time alone on the bus. They had some traveling to do after all and Ruby needed to have her mind focused on her work. (hmmm...would you like to time skip some? )

(sure we can do a time skip.. preferably a few days.. cause i think it might be cool if Josh sees her perform for the first time in so many years.. hope that's okay lol I just thought it is probably a big point.. considering he is following the band and having to document them lol)
Her sandwich was rather nice and hit the spot perfect, considering they were talking about a very heated subject. How did he even know? She could've been visiting family or something, how did he guess? Was it obvious to the whole world or something? She didn't know. Either way she didn't want to talk about it.
As they got into their van, Josh was still voicing his concern and care for her. She didn't get it, why was he being so nice? Josh then moved away from her, which she knew was done in the nicest way possible to give her some space. She sat in her little bean bag and continued to strum her guitar and take down notes for a song she was going to perform solo for the first time.
