Taiyou

Taiyou quickly ran out of the way but the serpent was hot on his tail, the creature's title appeared above it in red letters which described it as a 'Desert Basilisk', red letters were not good, if these were the types of monsters that appeared with red lettered names and titles then Taiyou was in trouble. He hated standing idly by and watching Soushi attack the large monster, but surely the android couldn't do this alone. Taiyou reached into his little pocket holster and grabbed his talisman's. He threw a few of them at the serpent's head but they quickly sizzled away without effect, forgetting they didn't work in this world mostly because nothing in this world was a spirit.

Taiyou cursed but after a few minutes the android seemed he had the hang of things, watching him kill the original serpent, until a second head popped up from the sand and he knew Soushi was most definitely in trouble. Taiyou knew he had to help and staying on the sidelines was almost torturous, the anxiety was unbearable especially watching Soushi have trouble dodging the second and slightly faster serpent which seemed to be attached to the original body. Taiyou's heart skipped a beat when he noticed Soushi wasn't quite fast enough, he was just a hair behind the serpent, and it was about to be noticeable as the second serpent reared toward the man with its mouth agape. "Soushi watch out!!" he screamed.

The anxiety and stress was simply too much for him to bear, and soon his chest began to burn something terrible. The burning brought Taiyou to his knees, vision blurring, head pounding, as he felt his head splitting apart there was a bright light coming from his chest where his heart settled. Taiyou took off his shirt and looked down to see his birthmark that had always resembled something that looked like a shield. His birthmark was glowing brightly, enveloping his whole body in the glowing light which was starting to feel like it was burning straight through his chest. Something took over his body, like an alternate personality, standing up and turning his body toward the serpent. His eyes went white as he gave a sharp shriek of pain. "Soushi move!!!" he screamed as he extended his hand, palm facing the serpent as a surge of bright yellow light shot from his palm and created a rather large hole in the second serpent's head, causing it to explode and killing it right away.

Taiyou gave a sigh relief and hit the ground, panting rapidly as his heart began to slow but the darkness began to creep over his eyes as his body lost all energy and the bright yellow light that emitted from his birthmark slowly died but the skin around it appeared as though it were singed a bit. The large serpent slowly turned black and little by little the data that formed the large beast disintigrated, leaving nothing but solid bones but soon the data that made up the bones also disappeared.

Taiyou

Taiyou woke up an hour later with his chest still hurting and still laying on the ground. He looked around his surroundings and concluded that he was still in the desert. Taiyou tried to sit up a bit but his chest still felt like it was burning a little, like an ember in a fire. He clutched his chest and hissed in pain but forced himself to sit upright. "What happened...?" he asked softly, thinking Soushi had to be somewhere nearby, keeping watch over him. Taiyou hoped there weren't anymore enemies around while he was passed out, but whatever had happened was enough to knock him off his feet for a while. "I don't remember much.....I remember watching you fight the serpent and then after the second snake appeared.....there's nothing." he said softly.

Taiyou

Taiyou listened but it just seemed like the more Soushi explained everything, the more confusing it seemed. He understood the fact that the DATA FLOWER wasn't necessarily a "thing", more like a cluster of data that likes to travel. But why were there so many portals like the one he found that led nowhere? Something didn't make sense. "Maybe you're right, I suppose it is better we travel during the night. I'm going to need more time to rest anyways. I can barely sit up without my chest hurting." he said softly, looking down at his birthmark and noticing the slight burnt edge around the mark. "My skin is burned...." he said softly, though the thing he should be pondering over is how that power emerged from his birthmark in the first place. His siblings always told him that because his birthmark was oddly shaped that it held a powerful energy, but they always said things like that, they pretty much worshiped the earth. Most pagans did. "I didn't even know I had that power within me......I don't think I could even make it happen again if I tried." Of course Taiyou wasn't really speaking directly to Soushi, but rather thinking out loud, whenever Taiyou asked Soushi questions like these the man was always vague with his answers and Taiyou had had enough of that for one day.

Taiyou

Taiyou lay back down on the sand, unable to move without being in pain but soon the heat and exhaustion got to him, putting him to sleep within just a couple hours. Taiyou awoke earlier than Soushi the next morning, seeing a cloth ceiling above him and blushing a bit. Soushi had actually made sure Taiyou was sheltered from the elements, and here he thought Soushi didn't like or care about him. And what was even more surprising was his chest didn't burn anymore, when Taiyou looked down at the mark he noticed the edges of the birthmark weren't singed anymore. He smiled a bit as he looked over at Soushi, knowing the android helped him. Taiyou waved his hand over the blanket where his legs were, a plate of the curry Soushi liked appeared. "Soushi....time to wake up..." he said softly, gently shaking the android awake and wondering if Soushi would wake up or if the android could only be awoken by his internal alarm clock.

Taiyou

Taiyou couldn't help but give a small laugh when Soushi woke up and seemed more interested in the food than anything else. "Well good morning to you too." he said with a smile. It was strange to wake up at night time to travel, it was messing with his biological time clock but it was to keep them safe. Taiyou waved his hand over his blanket for a plate of rather thick pancakes with syrup on them to appear in front of him. The pancakes were just a little gooey on the inside but even when Taiyou made them himself they always turned out like that, so it didn't taste much different to him. "Which direction are we to travel in?" he asked softly, though he knew this would only encourage a very short lived conversation, if any conversation emitted from this question at all. Taiyou should be used to it by now, but it was very lonely not being able to talk to someone who probably wouldn't talk back.

Taiyou

Taiyou nodded and continued to eat his slightly gooey pancakes until they were gone, waving his hand over the plate to send it back before summoning his cloak which was very similar to Soushi's except for the color which was a very dark blue. He gave a soft sigh when the tent disappeared, it was really nice of Soushi to provide them both with a shelter and a shared blanket. Maybe Soushi wasn't entirely dead inside. "Well....I guess we should head out. Why exactly are we going toward a dungeon though? Aren't those usually places we would avoid?" he asked curiously, not knowing if dungeons mean something different in this world than they did in his own world. But that wasn't the only thing he was pondering. "Why did you create a blanket for the both of us? You could have easily summoned up two sleeping bags, I'm sure." he said softly as he pulled the hood over his head and veil over his face, pulling it close and shivering at the bitter cold. Taiyou always found night time to be peculiar in a desert, he expected it to be somewhat warm during night time since it would get so hot during the day but instead it was always freezing at night. Some things about this world weren't that much different from his own world.

Taiyou

Taiyou grumbled a little at the lack of answers to his questions, still shivering, though also managing to listen. "I never knew there were places where even Mother couldn't touch. If Mother Computer is the God that created Digital, you'd think she would be able to control just about everything." Taiyou thought out loud as they continued to walk through the cold desert. He gave Soushi a bit of a glare when he was told to focus on the warm sand underneath him. "Easy for you to say, you're a machine, it's easier for you to focus your attention on only one thing at a time." he mumbled, pulling the hood of his cloak closer to his cheeks to try and keep warm but it was almost in vein; a few of his facial features were already starting to go numb. "How do you know that we're even going in he right direction anyways?? It's pitch black out here!" he exclaimed, stopping in his tracks to give his legs a break but also to listen to what Soushi's answer would be.
