"Why do you have to be so cold?" he asked, getting sick and tired of the man constantly telling him to obey the rules or be hurt. "Anyways...I don't want to control them...I want them to stop. I'll find a way somehow...I'm so sick of seeing people die." he said softly, staring off into space as his brain replayed his two latest visions over and over again. Demitri didn't even give JJ a chance to reply, he just went into the baths and tried to take his mind off of it.

JJ shrugged as he walked past the boy. if he was cold, it did little to bother him. in fact, it probably made people leave him alone, which was exactly what he wanted most, so it was a good thing he was cold. he went into his room where hot food was waiting and changed into sleep clothing before eating. he went straight to bed once the tray had been cleared away, giving his body the rest it needed, even if his mind had no desire for it.

Demitri quickly finished his bath, he didn't feel like staying in the bath for very long; he left for his room, unable to get those visions out of his head and the tears threatening to well up once again. He couldn't take it, he needed to get away from here; his visions were never as bad as they were now. Demitri put on a fresh set of clothes and grabbed a spare jacket that was left for him in the room, he didn't care if JJ forbade him to leave. Demitri managed to slip out of his room once again and trick the guards into letting him past the gate. All he wanted was to go to the one place where he felt the most comfortable, in his old bed where him and his father lay when he was a child. He was sure JJ wouldn't find him here. The smell of the old and condemned house filled his senses, the feeling of the wood beneath his hands were welcoming; he had missed this place dearly. Demitri found his old bed, just a mattress with a blanket on the floor next to it, but to him it was the best bed in the world. He laid down on top of the mattress which only had a very thin layer of dust, he would often come here when he worked on the farm. It was the only place he felt at home. Flashbacks of him and his parents playing together filled lulled him into a tearful sleep.

JJ woke an hour before sunrise, a habit he had retained since his childhood, and got himself put together. he shaved, for once, and checked the time. there was enough to get some work done before breakfast and he went to his lab, happy to have it to himself again. he worked until the maid knocked for him and then ate his breakfast. at eight, he went to the hallway, but the boy wasn't there. he frowned, but waited. at fave after, he knocked on the boy's door. no answer. his temper flared and he opened the door, ready to beat the boy for his tardiness, only to find him gone. he stood very, very, still for a long moment before shutting the door and going back towards his lab. it was better for him that the idiot was gone. he never wanted to train a snot nosed brat to begin with...he stopped out in the courtyard and sighed. however, the king would be displeased to find he'd run the boy off after a single day. he turned to the gates and questioned the guards. they had let the boy out that night and his frown deepened, but he'd never given orders to keep him here. he searched for half an hour, talking to people and asking around. finally he came to a house he knew all too well. all this time his anger had just grown until he was to the point where he was no longer in control. he opened the door and found the boy in a bedroom, sleeping on some s**t of pad. he lifted his hand and the mattress with it, slamming it up again the wall, pancaking the boy between the pad and the wood. "Good morning," he said softly, his voice deadly calm.

Demitri was in such a deep sleep that he didn't hear the door slam open, but he most definitely felt the wall and woke up instantly. His thoughts were in a million places at once, he was still trying to get it in his head that he was possibly awake now since he was disturbed from his dream world. Demitri scrambled to get to his feet but only got as far as sitting on his bottom on the floor; once he looked up and saw who it was Demitri began to tremble with fear. He knew he was in major trouble now, but how could the man find him so easily? Sure the village knew about this place but they didn't speak of it much for some reason. "I..I'm sorry..." was all he could muster up for words.

"You are sorry?" JJ asked, in that same voice, his eyes snapping with with fury. "You are sorry?" he lifted the boy and slammed him back against the wall, face first, "sorry for running away in the dead of the night like a coward?" a twist of his fingers had the back of the boy's shirt ripping away. "sorry that you hide from me?" he extended his hand and a riding crop formed, "or sorry that you chose this place of all places to hide? did you see it in your vision, is that why you came here?" he used his full strength when he brought the crop down across the boy's back, satisfied with the angry red welt left behind. "it is no coincidence you came to this man's home after seeing those visions," he brought the crop down again and again, lacing the boy's back with red, "did you think it a joke? what that man did? did you think me too weak to return to this place?"

Demitri tried to brace himself for what he was sure to be a painful reunion with the man, but it did no good; he cried out in pain as he was slammed, shaking even harder now. One thing Demitri was certain of, he underestimated the man's strength, he never would have guessed JJ could inflict so much pain but then again the man wasn't finished. He tried to push himself off the wall but JJ had such a strong grip on him that he wouldn't even budge. "Please..stop---!" he cried softly as warm tears stung his hot cheeks, and then he felt the sting of the crop and let out a painful scream. He was so confused, what JJ was saying didn't make any sense. "No....you don't understand....that man didn't live here!!" he cried, letting out scream after ear shattering scream as the crop carved more slashed across his back. There was no fighting him off, it was a painful conclusion Demitri had to come to. The boy's body went limp as did his thoughts, but the sorcerer kept talking despite Demitri's attempts to interrupt him. "I LIVED HERE!!!" He screamed, using almost the last of his energy to do so but it was the only way he could say something without being drowned in the man's constant questioning.

JJ froze, his crop held high, ready for another stroke. "you what?" he asked, his voice soft, unbelieving. "Lived-" his eyes widened as he released the magic holding the boy up, the crop vanishing. he'd heard the necromancer had a son, but hadn't been able to find the boy. not that he had searched hard, the child was young enough to not be tainted by his father's poison. he was willing to let him go rather than hunt him down and kill him as he'd been ordered. "you are his son," he shook his head and stepped back, "the gods have a sense of humor, that much is apparent. with you now as my apprentice you are safe. even the king will not fulfill his order to have you killed."

Demitri hit the ground with a sharp thud, he didn't bother moving much except to bring his knees to his chest and making himself as small as possible. "My mother died after giving birth to me...my father was all I had...." he said softly, trembling with fear and feeling his back throbbing in pain. "HE WAS MURDERED!!" he screamed at JJ, glaring at him intensely as though he were wanting to set fire to the man where he stood. "He was murdered by a Sorcerer! It was such a long time ago...I never got a good look at what the Sorcerer looked like....I swore to myself I would never agree to become anyone's apprentice. If being a Sorcerer means killing people then I don't want any part of it!!"

JJ looked down at the boy, he had been right. the child had no clue of his father's doings. "there is only one Sorcerer that can kill without punishment," he said softly, "and that is because he only acts upon the orders of the king himself." he knelt beside him and placed a hand over his back, healing the majority of the damage, but leaving a few to remind the boy to never try that again. "Your father was a Necromancer, the one from your vision. I killed him upon the orders of the kind because of his crimes against humanity."

Demitri shook his head as he allowed the man to heal him a bit. "You're lying....my father would never do such a heinous thing. My father was a good man, he fixed things for people!" Demitri's hatred for the man grew, he didn't even care that JJ was taking the blame for his father's death, Demitri wasn't sure who had killed his father but he didn't think it was JJ. He would have recognized the man if it was him.

JJ grabbed the boy's arm and stood, making him stand as well. "come, i will prove it to you." he let go and walked to the hidden set of stairs in the basement of the house. he had come here after killing the necromancer and searched for him lab to find the remains of the bodies he had taken. it had been easy for him, but he guessed that the stairs were well hiden from most people. he pushed the panel to open it and lead the way down, creating a ball of fire in his hand to light the way. once at the bottom of the steps he sent several balls floating to light the room. the only thing that had changed from when he left it was the amount of dust. the blood stains across the floors and on the tables were obvious. tanks filled with organs and human parts lined one wall and the tables had straps for the people he brought that needed to be alive at the beginning of the spells. "he was trying to bring your mother back to life," he said softly as he looked over the area. "this is where he worked. it is where he brought the maid's daughter and where i found her body after it had been apart for parts."

Demitri had practically no time to protest as he was forced to stand. "Your not going to find anything!" he said to JJ but much to his surprise the sorcerer managed to open a passage that even Demitri didn't know existed. His mind detached from his body, he knew he was walking but he couldn't feel his legs moving, it was almost as if he were floating behind JJ. What he saw next petrified him, he almost couldn't look anywhere without seeing a dark blood stain and for a moment he stopped breathing again but not because he was having a vision. Demitri could feel the blackened energy surrounding him and all he wanted was to get out of there, but instead his legs brought him toward his father's work desk where he found diagrams, recipes, and even pictures that were taken of his mother after she had died only in these pictures she was cut open like an autopsy case. Demitri's head felt like it was going to explode, it was all too much and he couldn't handle this all at one time; his hands began to tingle at his sides, and as he went to touch one of his mother's pictures there was a sharp shock between his hand and the picture. His other hand started flickering little shocks of electricity between his fingers. "How could he?" he whispered, trying desperately to keep the rage inside him quieted but the more he stifled his true reaction the more his body felt it was going to split in half. "Get me out of here.....I can't be here!" he begged.

JJ stepped away from the door, "you have two feet, use them. take yourself from here, boy." he wasn't going to carry the boy away, if he wasn't strong enough to walk away on his own, he would never be able to put this past him. "you can do it, put one foot in front of the other. turn around and never look back."

Demitri forced himself to take staggered breaths and quickly turned on his heel toward the door. He knew he could do this. One foot set forward, then another, and yet another step before Demitri tripped over something. He landed flat on his chin and he saw that he had tripped over a jar filled with a strange red liquid and some kind of an organ. Before he knew it Demitri's mind sent a million pictures through his mind, pictures of his father as he knew him and of the lab with all of its horrors. Objects in the room began to glow with static electricity and start flying across the room, circling around where Demitri lay. The boy stood up slowly and hung his head where he stood; he stretched his arms out in full length and every object crashed against the walls, managing to miss JJ and a picture on his fathers desk which had him, his father, and his mother in it. "Why did you show this to me?" he asked softly, tears streaming down his cheeks and his hands shaking from what he had done for the first time.
