"That'd do it." Segare chuckled at Zen's mention of life or death being his motivation, but beyond that chose not to interrupt as the younger man continued to speak. He could understand the kid's apprehension about being a teacher. He hadn't particularly wanted to try teaching when it was first suggested to him either, and his first few attempts had been disasters. Then again, any attempt at teaching chakra theory to ten year olds out of a scroll was pretty much guaranteed to be that. Luckily he'd managed to fine tune his teaching style before the kids stopped listening to him entirely.
Segare returned the grin and chuckled again at Zen suggested he might still cause slight trauma. "Well, if they aren't at least a little traumatized they're not really ninja yet are they?" he replied with a shrug. He laughed about it, and said it in a joking tone, but really he wasn't even joking. It seemed to him that any ninja he'd met, be it a skilled warrior on the field of battle, or a new student signing up for class, they all had some traumatic back story, and most couldn't resist telling you about it at the first opportunity. So really, if they were going to end up partially traumatized anyways, at least it could happen in a safe controlled environment right? Hm... Maybe he should be a bit more concerned about his student's mental health? Nah. "Just so long as it's nothing major." he added, completing both his internal thoughts and his previous statement.

Our definition of "major" are quite different from each other," Z responded. The two of them had completely different views on what a ninja is, how they should act, and how they should be trained. However, if there is one thing that they had in common is that they both wanted what was best for the village. It was this common ground that Z would partner with Segare, respect him, and be civil with him. It wasn't that he wasn't fond of him, but that they were two opposite sides of a coin.
"Well if there's nothing else, I guess I should head to the academy now shouldn't I? Since Rin is apparently out and about, I guess I'll have to catch her later for my report," he mentioned as he felt that this was the end of their conversation. "What are you going to do now?" he asked him as he turned his body to start walking out the door, his side towards Segare.
(Lol, they just have different views on how training should go...but no I don't think the two would get along for too long of a period of time)

Segare paused as Zen said he would head to the academy. That didn't seem to make any sense, seeing as the classes were all done for the day and even the latest working of teachers and students alike would be headed home for the night by now. But the young man continued on as if he hadn't just said the oddest thing Segare had heard all day, and then asked what Segare himself would be doing. Blinking in his slight confusion, Segare resisted the urge to simply stare at Zen.
"Why would you go to the academy?" he finally asked, composing himself.
"Classes ended hours ago, and genjutsu classes are still a few lessons away anyways. We need to get them used to using their chakra at all before we jump to that level of control. Plus, I think Rin was looking forward to teaching the first genjutsu class. She's mentioned some of her ideas." Segare's lips twitched into a slight smile again as he recalled some of those, "Ideas". The kids would never know what they were getting into.
"I was going to head home for the night, get an early start tomorrow." he continued, deciding to push right on to the other half of Zen's statements.
"I'd suggest you do the same. I expect you've had a tiring week. Get some rest, recharge, and try not to worry too much about the academy just yet. Maybe check out some of the kids in the meantime if you're still worried about it. Some of them are pretty interesting."
[Edit] "Well," Segare spoke again after the pause stretched a bit too long, suppressing a yawn. It really had been an absurdly long day, and starting with a spar with Luo, well rested afterwards or not, was an excellent way to leave him a bit tired for the rest of it. "I'm going to head home for the night. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow." he finished with an offhand wave as he turned and headed for the exit, intent on returning to his bed for a nights sleep.
