Crimson Mirath Agility: 0 HP: 56/59
Lia and Mirath watched the skies and waited. There seemed to be a good deal of waiting in the lowest wing, more of that than flaming. Which of course was a good thing, since it meant that the other wings were doing their job properly, but Lia found the periods of watchful waiting left her a little bit tense, and wished there was a bit more action. She'd probably worry less if she was acting more.
Mirath pointed out as she swerved toward another strand of Thread.
Lia found she'd been thinking too much and was momentarily startled, and fumbled with the flamethrower a bit before jetting out more fire than was strictly necessary and searing her target,

Jareth HP: - 36/47
It was just as well Jareth was a big blue, he had a little more stamina than most. Not as much as a brown, granted but perhaps almost, if he really stretched himself, which, Jareth was likely to do. He had plenty of get up and go left if he was honest, after a very short rest and some hurried chewing of some rather large chunks of firestone Jareth heeded the call from his Wingleader, and rose to meet the leading edge of the next wave of dreaded Thread.

Lia's preoccupation cost her further, because not a moment later Mirath felt a sharp stab of pain on her flank. She blinked between before Lia could even figure out where the Thread had come from.
she asked her dragon as they reappared in the sky, twisting in her straps to check.
Mirath responded, turning her eyes skyward once more.

[Z'radi and RotatonthHP: 28/35 Ag: +2 Zephyr wing] Rotatonth said, blasting flame at a particularly nasty clump. Said Z'radi, nudging her dragon away from a clump outside of their view. Rotatonth dodged the falling silver nicely and turned for more firestone.
Her dragon didn't respond, instead adjusting her course to remain in position. Z'radi shrugged at the dry heat of the air around her, toasted by the dragon's breath. Allright, fine. Don't take pride.
Well. That was a concession anyway.

S'aak and Anferth HP: 59 Agility: 0
And then the first wave was over, soon as it had begun. S'aak and Anferth hovered for a moment, the brownrider taking the opening to toss more firestone into his pale dragon's waiting mouth, but the reprieve was only brief. The second wave of Thread started seemingly instantly, after only the briefest of shift-switches. Anferth rumbled in enthusiastic delight, diving upwards, jaws stretching in a bellow of challenge at his old enemy.
S'aak, meanwhile, had his eyes fixed on the rest of the riders. It seemed that only a few greens had switched out - some of them ones he had already seen getting hit by Thread. S'aak worried, briefly, about some of the greens who weren't switching out. He recognized them - and there was T'arn, the smith...
If greens believe they can handle themselves, I'm not one to judge them, Anferth remarked calmly, twisting to flame a clump from the sky. S'aak nodded and sighed quietly.
Still, it feels...
You worry too much. They're all flying magnificently.

S'aak and Anferth HP: 59 - 5 = 54 Agility: 0
The sting of Thread on a wingtip brought another cry from Anferth's throat - this one a strangled noise of surprise and pain, but the brown flicked the spore away, coughing a gout of flame at it while S'aak attempted to assess the damage.
"Go between, idiot!" he called loudly to his dragon, but Anferth was already moving, already scouting for more Thread.
I'm fine. It was only a scratch.
"Only a scratch my a**," S'aak mumbled, but Anferth seemed quite fixed in his ways. S'aak sighed and pressed gamely on.

Jareth HP: - 36/47
After burning up a couple of smallish clumps Jareth had the time to look around quickly, His wingmates were lucky there was no showing off, Jareth had no time for that sort of nonsense in threadfall and if his Wingleader didn't say something to the offending pair you could be sure Jareth would. Though it seemed there'd be none of Jareth's grumping needed so far.
He snarled as G'nar made him dodge a tangle headed for his outstretched head and Jareth ducked in time to avoid it, twisting his head to flame at it.

Jareth HP: - 28/47
unfortunately he was too slow to avoid a tangle that blew in at him from the down draft of a wingmate's wingbeats headed for his rump, sadly neither Jareth nor his rider had eyes in the back of their heads and were distracted by the clump they'd missed in front of them. It was a large tangle and wrapped itself along Jareth's haunch and upper rear leg and he bellowed in pain before hopping Between to rid himself of the dread thing.
"Jareth, how bad is it?" asked G'nar of his blue while they hung Between freezing thread from the wound on his beloved Dragon.
"I'll live, i can keep going Mine, let's just char that menace from the skies" he snarled, his mental tone slightly strained, flying wasn't the problem, it would be landing that would prove how bad the wound really was since he often landed rear legs first, birdlike, before bringing his forequarters down.

Luka and Lophorinth // Burn Post
Better. Much better! Luka would never have imagined herself up here fighting Thread at any point in her life, even as she stood for the clutch that birthed Lophorinth it hadn't crossed her mind. She was far too focused on her own personal petty affairs. Not that she was feeling in any way altruistic. Fighting thread was still something only to be done to improve her own station in life.
Loph spared enough breath for another trumpet of triumph and flared his wings. Oh he was good! The best even! All these other dragons could be grim and serious but it was HE who was getting the ladies even now! Never fear dear Poecileth! Nothing could keep me from a promised afternoon in your company!
Except for death Loph.
Who's dying today? Not us!

[Malta and Poecileth HP: 32/35 Agility: +1 Zenith wing] said Poecileth back to Lophorinth, dodging Thread with ease- again a surprise. Hmm! That must have been a very auspicious herdbeast today! Poecileth hoped not. she said, sending another careful burst of flame at some falling thread, hitting it square on and torching a clump behind it as well. exclaimed Poecileth, surprised and pleased,
Malta, despite the stress, smiled weakly. Poecileth let out a low rumble. This fall was going well so far. <... Its not over yet...> said Poecileth, turning her attention back to Lophorinth, she asked, always happy to reinforce friendships. Malta needed lots of friends, indeed.

Ja'kki and Emerath // Burn Post
Emerath blinked, surprised by Poecileth's inquiry. She took a moment to burn through another patch of flame, careful to avoid any stray strands that slipped by before answering.
I'm alright. It stings some but my Ja'kki and I will get it taken care of when this wave clears. And you? Poecileth had only just taken a wound herself. It was sweet of the older green to be considering others even now.

Luka and Lophorinth // Damage Post
We WILL die if you don't pay attention Lophorinth! Luka seethed as they reappeared. Her heart raced with anger and fear as she checked both herself and her dragon for damage.
The grey of pain flickered in Loph's eyes. It wasn't bad, but a few more hits like that and he'd be out of the game. Sorry... came the surprisingly meek response as he turned his neck to accept more stone.
She was going to be furious when she discovered the burn on the back of her jacket. He'd been fast, but not quite fast enough.

T’arn and Tahmoth Agility: +3 HP: 35/35
One wave down with no difficulties. Tahmoth was flying in top form, smooth as glass. T'arn saw the greens switch out, some falling, others rising to replace them, but opted to hold position for now. There was no need to pull his girl out when there was still plenty of fire left to spit.
She turned her head, snapped up another load of firestone, then pulled up alongside Anferth. How do you fare? It looked as though he had just taken a score to one wingtip, but nothing too serious... Well, T'arn hoped nothing serious. Wing damage could never be entirely discounted.
