Jay would reach over and take the card, the result being her eyebrow raising while a rather delighted smile followed. So Tres was in the tournament after all..... She wondered if he knew she was here, they weren't exactly on the best of terms after all. It would make for a somewhat explosive reunion if either of them survived long enough to meet again.

"Oh he ain't a prissy little ********, he is an a-grade a*****e in my eyes. Wont be an easy match, but I would love to see you hurt him... And I mean hurt him good."

Oh that smile was to die for, Jay's eyes lit up in a way that would make any man blush as she leaned over the table.

"I'll make it worth your while if you make it happen."

She of course was referring to money..... Because she was married. Happily married.

sitting back down she tried to push the thoughts from her mind to calm down, since the first round would no doubt start soon. The bottle they had shared was all but gone...Even if he hadn't accepted her offer for work yet.... She had made an impression, a very good one since he was interested.

"None of us know how it will turn out, it is why we go into each match ready to spill as much blood as we can. But either way you should look me up after this, I'll show you a good time in Sigil...."

And blush he did, even if his darker skin-tone made the act less obvious.

"I'll bring you a trophy, then...You can just think of it as my resume, regardless of how this thing turns out."

In many ways, this was preferable to just winning; though he certainly wanted that, as well. Eric had been without any even remotely close to a family for a while now, and...after what he'd been through...his solidarity had only served to make him more susceptible to the power within.

Only a few minutes in Jay's company, and his hatred had vanished.

It was just the facts.

"Beyond that, I can at least come and see what you've got going on. It's not like I'm doing anything particularly useful with my time, as is..."

Per the norm, it was a very noncommittal response from a very fickle man.

But he was already completely on-board; even if he didn't know it yet.

Oh yes he would fit in just fine, maybe he would be the one to rip Tres's crystal arm off..... Maybe. If not him then her, since she wanted him to know what it felt like to have something you love stripped away from you. Of course he had suffered loss, he knew the pain of having nothing and struggling.... But he had also helped greatly in ruining Jay's life. Her good will and loyalty repaid with blatant disrespect.

But Eric didn't need to know all of that just yet, it would be evident that Jay was more than pleased with the offer.

The wicked smile grew as her lips parted to reveal those pearly whites of hers, they were very alike, except Jay was far more vocal about her choices, letting her emotions run rampant. Which oddly enough gave her a killer edge in battle, that rage was used to spur her on and add power to her moves with absolute control. Only ever losing that hold when pushed too far...That was when she made mistakes...

Maybe she could see how much of an animal Eric was? If she could slip away after her match she might be able to see both his and Heita's. Second best thing to fighting was watching them.

"Always a place at my table for another brawler. Besides need more people who can keep up ya' know? Drinking gets the better of me, but it feels so good to get down and dirty with that nice warm fuzzy feeling."

The woman stood up from the table, grabbing her bag and 'saluting' her new comrade.

"See you here after?"

He remained seated, but returned the gesture; raising his right hand, and flashing his index and middle-finger her way. But his smile, genuine and not simply a mock reflection of mirth bathed in blood, was the real remark on his position.

"I'll be there...Boss."

Jay had collared the Tiger, and the beast was content.

For now.

It was a great match, but now the time had come to return to the hotel to lick her wounds. Jay was still covered in blood and now walked with her arms wrapped tightly around her stomach, the pain made it hard to move and there was a lack of medical staff... not that she would ever of allowed someone other than her husband carry her out of the arena. Or anywhere for that matter.
Groaning as she made it to the elevator and thus began the trip up to their room... Wolf pelt wrapped about her shoulders as the trophy/ gift from her fight.

Reaching the room the woman slipped in through the door, heading straight for the bathroom while removing the bloodied clothing along the way. Leaving a trail as she vanished to go and wash off the blood, sweat and dirt.

Of course as soon as he water began to run red at her feet she looked down at her stomach and saw the swollen purple flesh where he had punched her into the earth. Without the rush of adrenaline masking the pain it had become so bad she was nearly crippled. Leaning out she grabbed the small container that had her medical pills in them. Taking one to ensure that she would be healed over night... Maybe she would be able to hide it from Heita...if he was still mad enough to leave her alone for a night that is.

Exiting the shower with a fresh towel covering the worst of her injuries she would then go about trying to reset her nose in the bathroom mirror....

Time travel: Before Match

XXXXXXInadvertently, Heita found that he had jogged all the way to the arena a full three hours prior to his fight. Worked up and unwilling to see the state Jay was more then likely getting herself into at the bar, he stayed at the arena and simply wandered about.

XXXXXXDuring which time, He took in the sights of the other fights from the stands. Cataloging his opponents as he did so, not for advantage sake but to get the lay of the land so to speak. To see where he stood amongst them. He was also gauging for his wife. Jay had the spirit of an amazon and much of their skill but a warrior woman was still a woman.

I take offense to that...
Shut up...

XXXXXXWoman were ultimately frail and constantly needed protecting. They were masses of emotion and structured chaos. Slaves to fancy and opposition even though they convinced themselves that men were such beast. No women were the ones who fell prey to indulgence. Not men.

XXXXXXMen only seek to protect them. Indulging and procuring their needs so that they would not hurt themselves trying to get those things themselves. Men are just tools. Tools for women to use.

XXXXXXHeita understood this early and accepted it. He had to be Jay's tool. He had to make her understand that. He had to show her why she needed him to do everything while she remains safe at home. He had to.

Nierro entered the restaurant and bar not even half as triumphantly as before, wearing a grim scowl to match the bandages adorning the left half of his face and all of his throat. No jubilant fan girl accompanied him this time. He turned them all away, or those few who offered right after he left the arena despite the grotesque form of his formerly attractive face.

The bandages covered the unsightly burns now, blocking vision out of his left eye. He could still feel the sting of the flames and he grit his teeth to keep himself from wincing. He allowed the medics only the time it took to apply the ointment and the bandages before he immediately stormed away. He refused magical treatment on pride rather than principle, leaving his body to do the rest naturally. Let it be a reminder to himself and to his next opponent. After the state he left the succubus in and the insult he suffered for the match, Nierro would not accept defeat.

Unfortunately, the matter remained up to the judges.

Nierro plopped unceremoniously into an empty booth, frowning at the empty seat across the table. A waitress soon approached with an all too cheerful smile and Nierro placed his order before she could speak.

"Meat. Bloody."

"Would you like anything to dri--" The waitress had the kindness to try and offer.

"Bloody," Nierro repeated with more than a subtle hint of irritation in his voice. She wisely took her cue and went to put in his order, whatever the hell it meant.

As he sat, his wolfish ear--the one that had not suffered the burns--twitched idly as he picked up little pieces of even the quietest conversations all around the entire room.

"--and then ********' Bojuka grabs the hammer out of, like, NOWHERE, and throws it right back at her!"

"Whaaaat? You said that thing weighed, like, 30 pounds dude!"

"Nah, b***h. I said it looked like it did, but she swings it around like it only weighs like 10 pounds. Or maybe, like, 5 pounds. I don't know numbers so good, anyway... So she swings it right at him, like right at his leg, right? And I'm like 'oh ********!' but THEN it just bounces off, like, a force field! Like magnets, yo!"

"Damn it, you're drunk again..."

"No, no, no, I'm serious."

"That's not even possible!"

"b***h, it's velocity! He's a number one elite velocity user, you ********' moron! Isn't it obvious? That's Bojuka Style, baby!"

At this point Nierro could not help but grimace, rubbing his good temple as he started to grind his teeth. More and more inane babble about the fights trickled into his consciousness despite his best attempts to filter them out.

"--had me feeling kind of weird, you know? That dude was like a smoke monster and here he's manhandling this little girl. I'm pretty sure it was pornography."

"--can't believe he took the dude's scalp AFTER, like, getting disemboweled. It was sooo goddamn brutal, I threw up a little in my mouth!"

"--think it was a great match, but then they were just standing there talking for like an hour. I was pretty confused. I threw up a little in my mouth."

"--least it wasn't a ********' staring contest. I swear to god, it's like half these matches didn't even happen..."

"I want me one of those beam katanas!"

"I think I saw some in the gift shop. That's probably where the fighter got his."

Nierro growled, suffering a much deeper agony than the burns that kissed his cheek. Sometimes acute hearing really sucked.

After their first round fight; both Eric, and Tres, had been carried out of the Arena...Relocated to the infirmary for a quick patch-up that would, hopefully, keep them alive until the results were posted.

Turned out, Bishop only offered full-body reconstruction to winners. Cheap-a** gangster!

Regardless, as the Tiger lay there; contemplating his future, and waiting for the pain medication to -really- kick in...his mind wandered back to the bar.

To his new boss, Jay.

Everything in his life had led up to this, it would seem; a painful series of events that could've been coincidence, or just as likely might've been intended. Eric hardly allowed himself time to think like this anymore, and...when he did...it usually just made him angry.

But, with all this dope in his system, he couldn't feel anything other than the dull-ache of his many injuries...and of a heart broken beyond repair.

If she told him to rip Sigil's foundations apart, he would do it...If she told him to kill...He would happily do it...

For the chance to regain some measure of self-worth, and for a taste of what it meant to matter, the Tiger would do anything she wanted.

Anything.

Finishing up in the bathroom Jay would emerge with a white plastered across her nose, the only thing she could do to keep her reset nose in place...Well remind her of it being there more than anything. It wasn't an easy life that she had chosen, but it sure felt good when you could stand up at the end of the day and say you gave it everything you had. Assuming it didn't kill you that is. Which yet again some how thanks to luck and the kindness of her opponent Jay had managed to live through another brawl.

Sometimes she wondered how she had made it this far? The woman had an unnatural amount of luck in life.

Finding a nice dress and a pair of boots tucked away under her more revealing clothing she made a decision to dress up to maybe distract her husband from the horrific bruising on her body.
And maybe even score her some brownie points for looking like a 'wife' should for a change.

Donning the white and black dress along with the thigh high boots, slipping on some fresh gloves to replace the ones she had ruined during the fight.

Turning to the mirror and smiling warmly while trying her hair up, two pigtails towards the front while the rest of her hair fell free behind her shoulders. Silver streaks brushed to the front to make her fringe.

She looked very lady like.

It was more than a little disturbing.....

There was just one more thing she could do...Make up. A frown formed as she quickly did a little dark eye shadow, still not nearly enough to hide the red swollen flesh in the centre of her face though. Although a good few hours might make it go away...For the most part.

Now it was time to wait for her husband to return....Or maybe go in search of her newest recruit....

Although her new outfit was for Heita...

The Present

XXXXXXHe was annoyed. He was annoyed that she had willfully disobeyed his orderrequest and had even went under her maiden name. No doubt out of spite. Not to mention his fight had done nothing to help him relieve his anger. It had in fact, made him reach nuclear levels of aggression as he and Bishop's brother had simply stared at each other for the majority of their match. The crowd's displeasure still apparent on him as various stains ruined his clothing. He was running home, full speed, an attempt at tiring himself out so that when he got back he would be too tired to continue the day.

XXXXXXZipping through the lobby and charging up the stairs, by the time he reached the room he was panting heavily. Door was open however and it startled him, he would control his breathing and enter carefully. To his surprise, there stood Jay in a dress that accentuated her features in all the right ways. His eyes would follow the winding trail from her feet to her waist to her chest, pausing unintentionally, until they fell upon her face. He scowled instantly. His beautiful wife was beaten and bruised as he knew she would be.

XXXXXX"Goodnight Ms. Bourne" He proclaimed as he began to disrobe, revealing that there was not a scratch on him. He was using this to his advantage. Sending a clear message and hoping that she had not watched his fight. Inside he was a mixture of pissed and self-righteous. Pissed that she was even trying to bait him after everything she had done but feeling self-righteous over the fact that he had just solidified his win in the argu
ment.

She smiled warmly as she went to welcome her husband back into the room... But the look he had when seeing her face made her shrink back, he was still angry with her.... And of course he had every right to be. But to speak to her like that and then taunt her further by removing his clothes..... Had she not been covering worse injuries than her nose she might of done the same to try force him into acknowledging his love for her.

Instead... she hung her head, fighting back tears while trying to think of a way to ask him to forgive her... The fact he used her maiden name was a little odd, seeing as she had unintentionally entered under it. An honest mistake on her behalf, not that he would see it that way.

Fact was Jay would never go out of her way to upset her husband, tease him...Push the boundaries a bit. But never hurt.
However what he was doing right now was hurting her, and badly. It was a pain she couldn't block out...Because it was a pain that struck deep within her heart.
He was the only man she had opened herself up to, letting her guard down so much so that when ever he was around she found it hard to put the emotional wall back up again.

So without shedding a single tear in his presence Jay slowly walked out of the room.

"I'm sorry..."

Were the words whispered as she left.

"I'm sorry..."

XXXXXXAs he sat on the bed, back to her, he winced. Her being meek was not natural. It wasn't what he had expected. He thought they were gonna fight a bit then Jay would do what she usually does to win their fights and he would find himself holding his wife in the morning amazed by her flexibility. However, this was different, this time he was without fault right. She was admitting defeat which sucked. He didn't like winning with her but he also didn't like her coming back to him looking like a punching bag.

XXXXXXWhen they first met, he realized she was ...adventurous. Their first date involved a raid on a hobgoblin camp wherein Heita got electrocuted, a fight with a robot housing a city-leveling bomb wherein Heita fought a Red Sentai Ranger/Zoids hybrid and the next morning they boarded a football arena sized dragon and she wasn't even phased. She was a warrior and he did enjoy that side of her but with this... with this she didn't have him there to look after her.

That's what's bothering you... she's having fun without you.

XXXXXX"Jay..." She hadn't gotten far. He knew that much, hearing her footfall soften far to early. "Come to bed..."

The words would barely leave his lips before the woman came running back into the room. Making a beeline for her husband and skidding across the bed to embrace him from behind, sobbing quietly into his shoulder like some kind of fragile woman would.

He was very right in knowing that this was very unlike her, normally one to be stubborn and refuse to admit defeat... But with him she had become so accustomed to letting her softer side show that there was little left of the vicious adventure seeking psychopath left. He got to see the real woman behind the brawler.

And even though he wasn't there to 'protect' her.... He was still there for her. To some extent at least. In reality this was one of the first trips they had made as a couple, and even though he was angry with her for fighting he might soon come to realise that it could be a lot of fun for them to explore the ground around the arena and hotel? Like a romantic get away with a little blood shed on the side....

"You know.... I hate crying. It makes me look weak. Can we please stop fighting?.... I am so sorry that I upset you, but we are here now, there isn't any going back..."

Pausing to sit back and wipe away her tears with the back of a glove.

"I love you Iyam..."

Speaking softly while moving to undo the belt around her dress, letting it fall to the bed as she looked up in the hopes he had turned around...Stopping to think for a moment about how bad she looked under the clothes. Slipping off the bed she would close the door for starters then turn out the lights, casting just enough darkness over them to hide the bulk of her bruising as the woman returned to the bed, standing at the edge and beginning to remove that beautiful dress...

"Can you forgive me?...."

The love shack

Holy s**t she is fast!

XXXXXXHeita had barely gotten the words out before being tackled by his wife catching him off guard and turning him bright red. She didn't like crying because it made her look weak? There was no going back? His words had fallen on death ears but he took solace in the notion that it bothered her that he was upset. Even if she didn't care what he was upset about. He should've known better. This is who she was. The very definition of impulsive.

XXXXXXShe was his polar opposite, his compliment. "I love you too Mrs. Heita..." he mumbled. Not because of residual anger, although that was there but that because it was still difficult for him to be openly affectionate. His eyes would widen as the lights went out and the door was shut and locked. " Now wait a minute..." He stammered a bit flustered as he saw her dress fall to the ground.

XXXXXXA wisp of smoke, blended with the darkness, crept its way to the radio for some set the mood music.

The music started, his words made the brawler blush while climbing onto the bed next to her husband while covering her stomach with her left arm. Wearing naught but her undergarments, the nice black silken panties that hugged her smooth well rounded hips left little to the imagination much like the matching bra that was stretched over her ample bosom. Each standing out against her pale flesh and then of course the bruises...Which were shaded for the most part by the lack of light in the room...but never the less were still there.

Wincing as she brought her knees under her and sat back to allow him to look at her...His beautiful wife who was his and his alone. His to love and to hold, to cherish... and to protect above all else. Even if she refused to be protected on a daily basis, over all though she would do as he asked, not because she needed to be kept safe, but because he actually knew better. Heita wasn't going to fight every single time something bad happened... He knew when to walk away... Jay didn't, and probably never would.

She needed him more than he would ever know.

"I need you... I need you Iyam.."

Her lips parting to allow the soft words to flow freely off her tongue, those big brown eyes glistened in the dark as she leaned closer in order to press her lips to his in a gentle yet passionate kiss....

Pulling back with a pained yelp and clutching her stomach as the muscles tightened in protest to the movement, it really did suck being 'super punched' into the ground... And the pill had not taken effect yet, it was going to be an over night rest before her body was healed.
A growl followed the yelp as she let herself fall flat on the bed, face pressed into the pillow while wagging her hips and kicking her feet in a child like manner. Effectively packing a mini tantrum at the fact she had just failed at being 'seductive'.
