Well, this was just the most splendiferous example of what her new life would be like. Abbi stared after the monster for a while, managing to right herself on the beach just before the sirens started. She flinched, more startled that they were sounding at all rather than over how loud they were. It was good to know that the Island had such a wonderful communication system. With a start she followed after the little group on the beach as they hustled over to where the real action was.
A mournful wave was given to Ripley and her sort of new friends, the teen terribly reluctant to leave them especially when it meant she had to let go of Ripley's arm. But Abbi was good and focused herself on her new task as she tripped her way over to the other Moonies. Before she got there, she watched the monster hack up something that looked a lot like--
"FINN! OHMIGOSH YOU'RE ALIIIIIVE!" Flailing and jumping the teen totally disregarded her duties for a moment to instead run over toward the now goo covered Finn. For a moment she considered hugging him, but instead just smiled at him a lot.
"Ohmigooosshhhh I was so so worried! I almost cried for you!" But she hadn't, which turned out well since he was alive. That meant Nevada too!
The teen gave the girl an excited wave before she jumped around Finn.
"Ok we gotta go kill this thing so c'mon c'mon c'moooonnn!" It was super difficult not to drag him over, so instead Abbi just ran laps around him similar to an overexcited puppy.
Finally they made it over, Abbi rushing to an empty place and with a determined set of her mouth she stared down at the machine.
Wait... Where was the instruction manual on this thing?!
The teen took a deep breath and began to haphazardly poke the machine, fingers digging and pulling and basically hoping to luck her way into getting it right. Her dad had been a mechanic and had shown her bits of car parts, so this wasn't that much different was it?
Apparently it was, but random poking finally got herself somewhere. When a crank was lightly pushed, the whole machine made a sudden motion accompanied by a loud clicking noise that caused the girl to jump back with a small shriek.
But it was glowing now and that was an awesome sign.
"Sweeeet."
