Akeem had already known this fight was going to be bad for him. He was but a simple Djinnzerker, unable to use the elements to his advantage and having only the force to aid him. So as he flew towards Kaminae with his arm cocked back and ready to strike, a momentary terror filled him with the sudden flash of ice. There were too many to dodge. Akeem gritted his teeth and waited for the inevitable, but it never came. Bastion increased in size rapidly, first denying the closet shards from impaling his friend and then the rest. He created an awkward shape for Akeem to have a foothold and push off of, knowing the Djinn was not out of the game just yet.

Inside of the barrier Akeem turned his body so he wouldn't make contact with his punch. Through it he could see Kaminae slipping down the ice and knew he had to get down there fast. He used his arm to hold himself at an angle against the barrier and propped his feet onto the back of it. As he pushed off Bastion morphed around him. He would keep changing the shape of his barrier instead of making a new one, so as to better protect Akeem. The Djinn landed on the ice with a roll and came to a stop, sliding forward a bit on the surface. From where he was he could see Maria and feel the stranger who had apparently come from the heavens to aid them in this battle. Bastion formed a second skin around Akeem, covering from head to toe with about an inch between the two of them. The Djinn waited then, ready to react in an instant.

                                                    Energy 750/900
                                                    Stats 10/9
                                                    Summoningt Bastion - 1450/1800
                                                    Passives

                                                        • Three Wishes
Up to three times per fight, the djinn may manipulate the force around an attack to redirect it for two ranks less in energy. This can only be done on skills of one rank higher than them. This is an extremely powerful passive of the djinn, an intelligent djinn capable of using it to largely make up for their vulnerability to ranged magic. It can also help to leave an enemy open in close-quarters combat.

                                                        • Mind Games
The djinn have a permanent 'force' around their skin that will reduce incoming damage by a rank (excluding holy and unholy magic). This puts them on the same level of base defensibility as a werewolf, although they can't regenerate, so... At adept rank, this force can become amplified by the djinn's mind, psychomanually controlling the level of force in the layer of magic. They can apply energy to it to block all manner of attacks, meaning they don't really have to learn defensive abilities. It is really no more potent than any other defense of its rank, though.

                                                        • Chi Sense
This is required for all Dim Mak techniques. It allows the user to see the flow of chi within any surrounding enemies in an area, making hiding from them quite useless as they pop up in their vision just as easily as infrared. This vision will last for five posts at a time, and requires a cool down of one post after usage. Once Stage 4 is learned, the negative effects of this technique disappear and becomes a passive ability of the user.

                                                    Technique

                                                        • Stay Out D-SS
Bastion can create a barrier of any shape he wishes, hollow or not, around any object(s) or person(s) he wants. These barriers are able to completely withstand attacks at its level and shirk off lower powered techniques. He can only create one barrier at a time, though he can manipulate it freely from there. This means he can shrink it or grow it or spin it, etc. Bastion's barriers have a 5 in speed in terms of how quick he can shift them, and they can only reach the size of a caravan.

Nai was on the platform of ice then she stopped moving forward altogether. She could clearly see the mayhem of ice and danger occuring in the center of the large platform and the gunslinger was not willing to trouble herself with any of that. She would just sit out at the sidelines and wait for her chance to come instead of trying to dive into the middle of it as if she was some melee fighting capable of defending herself by means other than dodging.

When the mini ice storm cleared and Kaminae appeared, Nai did what she did best, nothing. She stood there, blankly, allowing herself to sink into her Sin's vice. It wasn't a full awakening, but only because Sloth didn't care enough to make the effort to take over Nai's body. All it did was give Nai access to Sloth's thoughts, a blank mind that severed the useless from the needed, which made it perfect for split-second reactions when neither Sin nor human knew what to expect.

In the time Kaminae made her defense and counterattack, the shadowy tail X created had caught up to Nai and it lazily waved behind the woman.

Female ✖ 20 years ✖ 5' 8" ✖ 131 lb. ✖ Black Hair ✖ Black Eyes
X XMaster ✖ Gunslinger ✖ Sub-Ninja ✖ Chaos ✖ Tempus Inexstinctus ✖ Sloth
X X X Xstrength: 5 ✖ speed: 8 ✖ dodge: 13 ✖ energy: 1637/1800 ✖ ammo: 440/440

Passives
XXChaotic Energy: A passive skill that comes naturally after learning at least five chaos skills, Chaotic Energy is present when the chaos within the user reaches the point where it effects the way their energy is seen. It causes the energy to relay absolutely no concrete information (ex: class, rank, sins). Energy sensors will still be able to sense the affected person's energy. However, the energy will be such a mixed up mess that they will be unable to extract any information out of it. At most, they will know that something is unusual with the user. However, what this abnormality is will be unknown as the messed-up patterns of energy hint at nothing.
XXTemporal Accuracy: Those who can control time naturally have a keen sense of time that is capable of accurately keeping the time without any form of outside help. This sense of time is even maintained during the usage of bloodline skills for both the time passed by the user and the time passed by those unaffected by the bloodline skills. Unlike most of the Tempus Inexstinctus's skills, this ability does not break down when within a meter of another significant energy source.

Skills
XXName: Trump Card
Energy cost: B
Description: Trump Card creates physical manifestations of the darkness to restrain, attack, defend, and do whatever X requires. These blunt, tendril-like "tails" are very flexible and move easily at X's command. Each tail requires a B-rank energy cost to create. Up to 9 may be created and each has the strength and speed of a Shade ninja. Their sizes and form may vary anywhere within a base width of no larger than 2 feet and total length no longer than 10 feet. The base of each tail must be positioned in a shadow of some sort. Extra energy does not need to be put into the skill over time unless it is to regenerate a destroyed/damaged tail. Regenerating a destroyed/damaged tail costs the same as creating a completely new tail. Completely destroyed tails cannot be regenerated until three posts after their destruction. [1/9 active]

XXName: Shadow Masquerade
Energy cost: C
Description: X spreads the shadows, casting a shadow on everything that already isn't in shadow while darkening whatever shadows already existed. All light sources significantly dim, not because this is how the shadows are spread but because it darkens the area further. At night in a place with poor lighting, this could cast the area into a nearly lightless darkness. At day, though, the air simply gains a shade of gray one step grayer than the view on a very cloudy day. The outline of figures such as surfaces and objects are still clearly visible. Although, the shadows that cover everything in this area makes all surfaces appear abnormally dark for the lighting suggested by the surrounding atmosphere, making details harder to pick out. All in all, Shadow Masquerade is used to either create shadows or create a minor hindrance to the vision of everyone in the area. It maintains itself for five posts with the initial input of energy, after which another dose of C-rank energy is required to maintain the skill for another five posts. Shadow Masquerade can be active for as long as there is energy to keep it active. The lighting change created by this skill does affect the cost of X's skills. The change in lighting covers an area spreading 10 meters around X in all directions: a circle with a diameter of 20 meters centered on X. [2/5 posts]

XXName: Jester's Blindfold
Energy cost: C
Description: After the target(s)' vision has been decreased with some other skill, item, etc., X can magnify the effects of the visual hindrance to the point that the target(s) cannot see at all. This magical darkness can be continued even after the effects of the trigger have ended. Every three posts, a D-rank energy must be used to continue the effect.
After reaching B-rank, X can use an advanced version of Jester's Blindfold that require a C-rank amount of energy to use and hold. This upgraded version blocks out sight in addition to smell, taste, and hearing. [1/3 posts]

                                        xxxxxxxxxxxxxKAMINAE OF ANTHOS

(Life raped me for about five days. Now I've been unraped. I'll try not to do something like that again. I just had little control over it.)

She held the trident, Belfast, up in the air. She watched as Intet narrowly saved his own skin, and then as Akeem and Maria both stood idly waiting to react instead of act. Acting, at this point, was probably a bad idea. But frankly, she knew that simply -- the way they were, nothing mattered. They didn't have enough. It was pathetic, how much West underestimated her. Even the three of them combined were not worth one fifth of her power. Even with West alongside them, not even half. Kaminae was nearly a thousand years old. She was most likely the strongest of her kind that would ever walk the land and swim in the seas. There were two reasons for this outside of her own gargantuan energy pool: Alexander, and Belfast. What sort of difference did Belfast make, one might ask?

One can't be a demon God without the weapon of one. Demons and angels both have weapons that cling to them. As Lukhan held the "Collar and the Belt", Antony "Fraternity", Solonor the Lantern, Makath the "Jagged Shiv", Kaminae had her own weapon. And -- most importantly, something tied to it.

The woman pulled away at the flimsy clothing that concealed her. Her silk robe lowered and lessened; beneath it was only a silk wrap that concealed her breasts and below. Beneath her collarbone, there was a circular gem that looked much like a steering wheel. It appeared similar to a Mark, because that was what it was. It clung to her skin, and when exposed, it radiantly glowed.

Whose mark was this, you might ask? From who did she obtain this mark?

Kala. This mark had only one particular purpose, however. It did not allow her so many wretched and amazing feats as one might expect. It allowed her only the privilege of using Belfast beyond even ten percent of its capability. This unlocked . . . a whole new level of power. A set of abilities that could rock the human, Mer, Djinn, Quicksilver imagination. She had initially only wanted to unveil this in the presence of the Emperor, but considering these three were all about to die, the secret would never get out. A prize was still in store.

"You never expected this, did you? You never understood that -- in truth -- a demon's soul is far beyond your comprehension. To us, you are as ants to giants. You are nothing. Here's my proof." Her eyes glowed white. Her trident glowed white. Then, all she did was one simple thing. She pointed it at the three of them, individually, without even a full stroke or a moment's notice. Regardless of their barriers and their attempts to remove her of sight, they could not stop this ability. Belfast was a life of its own, and this was its most powerful ability.

In an instant, their eyes too would begin to glow white. Intet, Bastion, Akeem, Kaminae, Nai. The seven of them, Kaminae and Alexander included, would then find themselves in a different world. This was the first, and possibly the weakest demonstration of a particular demonic ability: reality manipulation.

The world, as it was called, was pitch black. There was only a single candle lit, in the center of the room, and then a veiled creature behind it. She held a book in her hands, though they were covered in silk gloves and a peculiar set of rings. She looked at each of the seven, only barely lit. None of them had any powers, or any of the consequences of mortality. This was a place of thought, not of violence.

The veiled woman began to speak. "I cannot tell you where you are. Only Michael knows, and only Kala knows. I can tell you, however, your purpose here in this place. Kaminae has challenged you to a battle of knowledge over blades. This knowledge will take the form of riddles. Easy, at first, but then more difficult. You can consider me your riddler. Every riddle you answer wrong will result in a loss of one thousand energy. Sin's energy stocks will not save or benefit you. If you hit zero energy, you will die. Akeem, you are in the most danger." She glanced at him, then pulled cards from seemingly nothing and handed them out to the group. "These are your riddles. If all three of you answer correctly, you may pose a single riddle to Kaminae, and then another if you can all three answer correctly again. The same rules apply to her as well. Good luck."

                                        To Maria-
I am a blackness beyond the sea. I am a creature that you have always wanted to be. It is not that I exist within you, but that you exist within me. Who am I?

                                        To Akeem-
I have not spoken in all but a thousand years, for just a sound and mankind would writhe in pain and tears. Once upon a dream, there was one that desired power from me, only to understand it to contain no such glee. Who am I?

                                        To Nai-
I'm the lone wolf that howls in the night, shattering the peace and living for fright. I'm the one that split the divide; I enjoyed it, and that I must confide. Who am I?

                                        (Axiom related riddles only

Watching more watching and then suddenly, Nai couldn't watch any more. All was pitch black around her, save for the light provided by a single candle in the center of the room. That was the first thing Nai noticed. The second thing Nai noticed was a distinct lack of her powers, or at least, she couldn't sense the moments passing by with the precision of a machine. Perhaps it wasn't her powers lost so much as time not existing in whatever place she was now in.

Nai did not get an answer to that particular question, but the gloved lady with the rings answered most of the others she had about this place. With the other two, Nai accepted her card and flipped it over to read it as she listened to the rules of the game. If she could bother expending the energy to be happy, Nai would have been glad at this twist of faith. After witnessing Kaminae's near-impenetrable defense, Nai had been highly considering playing the rest of the fight as a war of attrition. It was, she knew, a foolish idea, but only just about as foolish as trying to hit a smoke cloud of a dragon and break through a defense that rivaled a well-fortified fortress. Now, here was that idea in a much more doable form. Assuming, of course, she could answer this riddle given to her.

For all her efficiency and energy conservation, Nai did not immediately land on an answer for this. She made a concentrated effort to put in some effort into this riddle, a mundane task that was harder for her than most with the Sin that resided within her. No amount of prodding aroused any response from Sloth, so Nai could only take the lack of an answer as either meaning the Sin did not care if his host got this question wrong or the Sin could not be bothered to tell his host an answer she already knows.

X, likewise, said nothing. Still hanging out in the shadows created by Nai's clothes on her body, the shadow summon could see the card Nai held from where he continued to hide himself. All he did was stare at it and make it well known to Nai through the link they shared that she had best not bother asking him for an answer. He had a solution to the riddle, but was uncertain on it. He could not bear to be proven wrong, and whatever the gunslinger thought of was likely as good an answer as his.

With no help coming from anywhere, Nai could only think of one answer. Who else could she think of when asked about a lone wolf that shattered the peace but the man who was once king of the nation she once served? Fenrir, she did not know much about his exploits, but he among all the fairhairs she knew was the only one to elicit a small spark of fear in her. Sure, there were some that she knew to be cautious around, but none of them frightened her. Then again, it might only have been because Fenrir had nearly killed her but that didn't change her opinion of it.

"Fenrir," the hooded gunslinger answered just loud enough to be heard clearly. For better or for worse, this was the only answer she could think of.

All correct. Now, you get to collectively decide to pose a riddle to Kaminae. If it is too cryptic and difficult to understand, I will ask you to rephrase it.

Kaminae's EN: 1400/2400

To Akeem -

Abandoned by my father,
Made a tool by my mother.
I fear, I fear. I hurt, I hurt.
Nothing is as it could've been.

Inevitably, though, I find a light.
I leave a legacy.
I find my father.
I leave this world behind.
Who am I?

To Nai -

I am the place where two brothers were born,
Creatures of destiny compelled by the Gods.
I am the place where the sky fills with colors; orange, pink, a jade.
I am the place where two brothers were born,
Though only one brother survives.

What am I?

To Maria -

Your mother never wanted you.
Your father never loved you.
Your friends have always despised you.
Annoying, she is. That's what they'd say.
Disgusting, she is. That's what they'd say.

You will fail at conquering Yuran.
You will fail at conquering Kranila.
Korok and Jasper will come together and make you a slab of meat.
Your dragon will bleed,
And your head will kneel before the throne.

Who am I, that speaks to you?
