Stepping foot on the Lightcleaver was like walking onto familiar ground for Lucas, he spent a lot of time on the zeppelin and captained it with his magic. It was like none other, no other zeppelin in Magic Earth was pure steel and silver, with such intricate design. On the main deck of the ship he breathed in heavily, Lucas feeling the breeze running through his hand as he inspected the balloon above him, it still seemed in pretty good working order.

"so then" he began, looking over the ship's other side and down into the water, it was like a mirror and as still as stone. "I can take you to Skyfall? From there i'll be able to give you permission to use one of our Portals" he came back over from the edge of the ship, gazing back over towards the grand library. The main deck of the ship was different to the outside walls, it was a light birch wood stained to have an almost white appearance.

"It will be a day or two's journey, i hope you don't mind"

Cora Lainey

Cora stepped slowly onto the great airship, following Lucas' lead. She strode against the wind, feeling the soft touch of the breeze on her cheeks. She ran her fingertips against the railings and took a deep breath of fresh air. She found that she was surprisingly relaxed.

Lucas was peering over the railing when he spoke to her. She glided towards him and leaned against the rail next to him, smiling peacefully. She considered his proposition carefully, contemplating all of the outcomes. Being through the sky for two days made her heart skip nervously, but she also felt remarkably relaxed around Lucas. After a silent moment she spoke calmly, "I'm sure I will be fine for the two days. However," Cora looked at Lucas and cocked her head with curiosity, "where will that portal go? What is our final destination?"

"Like i said" he began, looking over the edge again, at the water in the lake beneath them. "When we arrive at Skyfall, I can get you permission to use a portal to a major city of you're choice, i can explain to you those later. Oh-" he then said, bringing his robes and long hair round to look at her. "or you're welcome to stay at Skyfall, that's if you don't mind being surrounded by the law and all things pure" he almost sounded joking as he described it. It was a phenomenal city, Lucas' favourite by biased opinion. The Falls of Lenticularis were perhaps the most beautiful cloud system in Magic Earth, and the Skypunch itself where the city floats upon is even more spectacular.

As Cora replied, he walked off to the back of the deck, where the wheel would normally be to steer the great ship, but instead there was a stone plaque on the floor in its place. "I'll just get our journey started then, hold on tight" Lucas said, he then mysteriously reached under his robes and from the layers of white cloth came a golden hilt of a blade. There wasn't even a blade on it, but when he thrust it down into the plaque and turned it clockwise, there must have been an invisible blade. Anyone could tell by the metallic 'ching' sound it made as it hit the floor. With the turning of the blade in his hand, it acted like a key as white light filled the cracks and inscriptions. He then took his blade out from the plaque and before putting it away, the blade happened to pass through a shadow. At that moment, when the invisible blade passed through the shadow the blade became visible, and was clean, polished and pure.

Replacing it under his robe the ship began to creak and groan with magical power. And then - it lifted. The ship began to drift through the water, slicing through it at the front and as it gained a careful speed the front began to lift off the water's surface and like a graceful glide the ship became the zeppelin that was the Lightcleaver. It wasn't long until they were completely out of the water. From outside the massive cleaver-like blade on the front of the hull could be seen stretching down underneath it before reaching the center, and then it stretched downwards like a sharp spike that could be used to spin the ship around and around if a god were to twist it.

After the initial speed subsided, the zeppelin moved at a smooth pace.

When Lucas said there were portals to major cities, Cora cocked her eyebrows in surprise. She'd never even imagined portals to exist before she came here, but it appeared they were a common source of transportation. When Lucas turned to her and teased about Skyfall, Cora quietly laughed and looked down at her feet. "That sounds dreadfully awful," she teased back and tried to hide her smile. If this city was as pure as she believed Lucas to be, Cora was sure she would enjoy some time there. Perhaps she would want to see more of the world, but maybe she wouldn't. She decided to leave those decisions to the future and to simply go where she pleased.

Lucas left the railing, approaching a great plaque on the back of the deck. As he told her to brace herself, Cora clung to the railing. She grew puzzled as she couldn't find the steering wheel, or really any kind of maneuvering mechanisms. Lucas reached into his robes and revealed a beautiful hilt--but there was no blade. Cora recalled getting a very brief glimpse at the very same hilt in the library. As he struck down, Cora was startled by the cacophonic sound of metal clashing. As Lucas lifted the hilt back to his waist, a shadow revealed the beautiful blade that was hidden from her just a moment ago. She didn't have much time to admire the sword before the Lightcleaver took action.

The Lightcleaver awoke with murmured sounds and slowly lifted. Cora felt her fingers begin to hurt from how tight she clung to the rail. The Lightcleaver gracefully sailed from the lake to the skies. Cora closed her eyes for a brief moment and relaxed her grip. When she opened her eyes, she was above the land and they were flying effortlessly. Cora peered over the railing, her back turned to Lucas. She watched quietly in awe as the world lay sprawled out beneath the great zeppelin. "A little different than flying a commercial airplane..." Cora quietly murmured to herself. She felt a subtle desire to braid her hair, but she was too attached to her grip on the railing to even dare humor the craving.

"I've never had to experience one" he said in response to the commercial plane. He was brought up by a respected family from Magic Earth, so luckily they had a bit of cash, but he didn't like that to make him sound too... upper-class. He could see how concentrated she was on the land beneath then vanishing slowly. HE could even see the muscles of her arms tightening to keep her on the ship.

"You won't fall, the wind won't even touch you unless you lean over the edge" he said to try and help her calm herself, the edges were enchanted as to protect the ships occupants from bad weather. It's what the syndicate specialised in, protection. He then began to wonder what they're going to do for all this time on the Lightcleaver, by the end of it they'll probably know a lot about each other. And Lucas didn't mind that, he always enjoyed sharing his stories for the most part, especially after the past year, it's been a great story. "So" he said, taking stand in the middle of the deck, his hands together at his waist as he patiently stood respectfully. His expression was neutral, but it always looked positive and accepting. "Anything particular you would like to know?" he asked "About me, or Magic Earth for that matter. It seems a lot at first, but once you understand everything it's just like back home"

Cora was so enveloped in the land beneath her, she jumped from surprise when Lucas replied to her mutterings. She turned around to face him, her hands still holding the rails securely. Cora thought it curious how he'd flown between Alaska and California, yet not commercially. Cora could only guess he was fortunate enough to fly privately. Cora grew even more so puzzled by Lucas, as he seemed to have so much experience, but it all seemed almost dutiful. She wondered if the kind man before her ever made a selfish decision in his life.

When Lucas ensured her safety from even the wind, Cora hesitantly let go of the rail. "Such a shame about the wind, though." She smiled softly, despite her hands shaking ever so slightly. Cora tucked her hands into her pockets and took a step towards Lucas in the middle of the deck. "I want to learn everything. About you, this place, magic... But let's start with you. I would be lying if I said I wasn't curious." Cora wasn't accustomed to being invested in people. She was a bit embarrassed asking so directly about him, she hoped no signs of her embarrassment touched her cheeks.

As she spoke she has such a honest approach, she wanted to know about him, his life and how he was a part of this world. That as well as everything else about Magic Earth, including magic itself. At first he angled his face towards her with an arched brow repeating "me?" with a curious tone, though none too surprised in reality. "Well" he said, turning around and pulling a few collapsed chairs from a corner of the deck. Funny to think some things here aren't all magical. These were just birch wood chairs that could fold up, he passed one to Cora and opened his to sit upon it on the middle of the deck. It was nice to rest with the fresh air around them, standing for too long won't help when looking over the edge he thought.

"I was born in Alaska, as you already know. There isn't really anything important to say except my mother and father were and still are Elites. You could compare them to celebrities, or people with a knighthood. They're recognised for what they've done in Magic Earth, they've also managed to accumulate a small wealth so.. i guess you could say i've had the right connections. Anyway - i had a lot of trips to California when i was younger. I never actually visited Magic Earth until i was 18, but beforehand my parents taught me the world and the guilds from an early age, and i followed my parent's footsteps in joining the Injustira Syndicate. From there i moved, joined the syndicate and have made my way up... father than most. I thank all those dedicated nights of reading" he cheaply exhaled as if to laugh at the thought.

"Perhaps a good story to tell would be that of Team Elixer." he then summoned forth his white glowing orb that proceeded to turn into glowing white dust, and like before, it would turn into the image of whatever memories he was referring back to. "Last year was the first time i really started taking a larger role in the syndicate. Every year, the island known as the Isle of Elixer has to have its protection recharged. The guild is i charge of keeping it protected because of the Scarred from Bloodholme, across the ocean to the east. With our protection they can't step foot on the island, and cannot use the Fountain of Immortality, since with it they would be an unstoppable force. Anyway, last year was the first year we didn't use trained specialists, but instead, since we thought it would be safe, we introduced some individuals from the academies so they could learn something new and unique. Problem was the Scarred had a plan and almost one, but Alexis, Laxion and Ruby, the selected students, helped me protect the island. "

((sorry this is long! I'm going to just use Lucas to explain some things that i think are relevant to the world smile ))

Cora unfolded the collapsable chair and sat down quietly, absorbing everything he said to her. His family having strong connections did not completely surprise her. He seemed to be a kind gentleman of proper upbringing. Cora crossed her legs in the chair, rested her elbows on her knees and cradled her chin in her hands. She smiled softly as she listened attentively.

Cora's brow furrowed when Lucas began to speak of Team Elixer. She watched the bright dust as it danced in front of her. "And these brave people... What happened to them?" Cora asked quietly. From the way Lucas described it, the experience seemed most troublesome. She was almost afraid to ask about what happened to the people guarding a fountain with such properties as that one.

((Don't worry about it! Sorry it took me a while to respond; tonight was D&D night with some friends.))

((ooooo D&D! a worthy cause haha))

As he paused for some moments to let Cora have all this information sink in, she asked about the outcome of Team Elixer. He exhaled cheaply at the thought, a small smile coming across his face. Their faces moving through his memories one by one. And so now he let the magical dust before them glow bright and show Cora each of them. Firstly he said "Well, Laxion" he said, the dust forming a male with armour and long hair, his weapon of choice being a spear. "He's part Fae, part Elemental. Very talented with Air, next we have Alexis, she was a human... a great wizard who was hoping to graduate Merlin Academy." her portrait was that of a girl with draping clothes from her arms and legs with a staff that had a glowing gem at the tip, along with a few blades that swirled and would meet at teh tip to form a spear-like tip. "And then we have Ruby, a Daywalker" he then added "they're a race that used to be vampire but cured themselves. Anyway, everything was fine until the team decided to inspect some weird happenings. Long story short, they came into contact with a corrupt wizard from Merlin Academy, who wanted to attack and control your world. In the end..." the dust showed Team Elixer, along with a couple of others for later explanation, within a forest, and two dark men, one being the man in question, in the middle.

But then the dust swirled and changed into a mysterious box, if only the dust could show colour, it would be blue. But the box had a glowing light at the top, and the sign at the front distinctly read "Police Box: Public Call". "they met the Doctor. A man that travels time... he helped them stop the corrupt mage and save both our worlds. Nonetheless, Alexis saw her chance to relive some of her lost childhood and took it, but ultimately it would mean we would never see her again. But never mind" he said again, with a smile. The dust showing Alexis walking into a portal-like object before vanishing. "She's happy, or was happy. And s are we".

He was yet to explain why he spoke of it in an odd past tense, and hadn't mentioned how he was of no interaction with the dark mage, the team fought that battle alone.

Cora watched the dust shift and slip between the different figures. She noted that Lucas addressed Alexis in the past tense when he introduced her, but Cora kept her face expressionless. Cora watched the box take form and looked over to Lucas. She felt like there was something else, something she shouldn't pry about.

"So long as she's happy, that's all that matters." Cora smiled softly and folded her hands in her lap. "Life is too precious to do what doesn't please us." Cora wasn't all too sure what else to say. It sounded like an ordeal, possibly one that is still too fresh.

"exactly" he said in reply to her with a smile, he was happy she understood, she was mature,a nd he liked that. Not only that though, she accepted things as they were, it was something that he had thought of before in the library. "So since then, i went searching for my own information about the Angels" he looked towards the book which was placed neatly on the table beside the doorway to leads below the deck. "Which brings me to the subject of magic" he then said, resting back in his chair and crossing his arms. the dust resturned to being a glowing light between them.

"Everyone in Magic Earth who has linage to the Eternal, and the Native Elves, all possess the ability to use magic. However not everyone even here can utilize it. You'll find there is a fair share of people who do not harness much magical capabilities. But you will find that most people have a far better endurance than any Non-magic folk. Anyone that does show a better understanding of magic though usually joins an academy, or rises the ranks in the Guilds. That could lead you to think we're biased, but its surprising what individuals can still make it to very high ranks. That's probably because everyone in magic earth can usually endure more, can conjure more strength, and etc etc. Oh - and i should add, anyone can learn magic, it just takes time if not already begun from a young age. And i you're case, i presume no such magic has been performed for a while, probably for a few generations - which will make learning for you more difficult"

Cora raised her eyebrows at Lucas when he said it would be more difficult for her to learn magic. "I can't learn magic." Cora said simply. "After all of these years, if I was even slightly capable of learning magic, I believe it would reveal itself in some subtle way. Alas, there've been no signs." She knew she was being stubborn, but just as she told him she wasn't Fae, she knew she couldn't use magic as well. Since childhood, Cora was forced to be independent and self-reliant. Due to this, she had a very clear image of who she was and what she could depend on. If that all changed now, then what else could she possibly be wrong about? Cora re-crossed her legs, swapping which leg sat on the other, and slowly braided the hair that rested on her shoulder.

Cora didn't seem very convinced that she would hold any such magical power, but he saw something that she probably didn't. Lucas couldn't recall if he had told her already, but he was going to mention it again. "But you see, Cora, you're a Fae. And Fae have a natural affinity for magic, better than most others i might add. Though humans do have that knack for adjusting and learning quite well. Nonetheless, if you would ever like to try, I'm sure the time will come" he said with a smile.

Cora couldn't understand what made Lucas think she wasn't an ordinary human being. Despite her confusion, she felt guilty. Lucas had been so patient and helpful, the least she could do was humor him. After all, had it not been for his guidance, she probably would have gotten lost in that giant library, never to see any city. Cora inhaled slowly and responded, "I guess one day I may try." She smiled gently and resigned to staring at her feet again. "So would you recommend I join one of these guilds?"
