Candace laughed at Stormy's encouragement, hugging her while they walked. "You're so sweet! I'll find another way, it's fine." But that did cheer her up quite a bit. So cute.
Letting Stormy go, Candace sighed and nodded in agreement about the weather. "Bermuda. ******** hot even in September, it's just not right. I might have to cut my hair soon if I can't wash it, I miss having a shower." She felt disgusting without a proper shower. There were things she didn't want to do lately because she felt gross. Things she would not be discussing with anyone outside of those involved. Yes. Right.
She held the door open so it wouldn't hit Stormy as she followed behind her. At the mention of Nevada's coping method she laughed again. "I've been practically doing the same thing. It's awful. So what was it you wanted to talk about, sweetheart?"

Yes, she knew. She knew what sorts of things you kept in the closet, Candace. Cool shoes and great lingerie for sure.
"Noooooo don't cut it, Ms. C! It looks so nice, I won't recognize you anymoooooore~" Stormy squeezed her in return and then skipped over to the counter to get their coffee. Once their mugs were filled, she set them on the table, hopped back, and grabbed as much milk and creamer as she could.
"So!"
And then she happily dumped them all in the center, giving Candace an expectant (if not slightly proud) face). "You like a lot of this, right?"

"I actually cut it before I came here, you know. I'd look how I did when I first got here~." She shrugged.
When they arrived she sat at the table and waited, watching Stormy with amusement as she got their coffees ready. The coffee here was god awful and she missed her personal coffee maker with quality coffee. She was genuinely surprised to see Stormy set down the milk and creamer and make sure she liked a lot of it.
Candace raised a brow. "Yes, I do.."

"Keeeeeeep itttttttt~" Stormy insisted nevertheless, not actually arguing at this point but just making noise. She bounced in place and smiled a little more at the raised brow, waiting to see if Candace got the message.
. . . Okay, maybe that was a bit too subtle.
"So, um, what's with those Life people, huh?" She settled down across from the other hunter and began to pour some sugar into her drink. "Like Cap'n and Sherry are so pretty, and Mr. Lex is like model handsome . . . And the Doctor looks good even with those scars! You'd think they'd found the beauty gene in secret or something."

Candace chuckled while she put in the milk and cream amounts she preferred. Fine, fine. She wouldn't cut it. She'd find some other way to deal with it. This was going to be a challenge.
The subject of Life came up and Candace looked up, watching Stormy very closely. That was a very sudden topic change. Either Stormy was hiding something or..
...Hm.
Candace lifted her mug, her face passive. "That's a very specific observation, Stormy," she observed, watching Stormy over the rim of her mug as she took a sip of her coffee. Ugh. Awful stuff. "Is there a reason you chose those hunters specifically as your examples?" She had a theory, but...she wanted to see how long Stormy was going to draw this out.
"Who is Cap'n again? I don't know Sherry well but yes, she is lovely. And I don't really know who Lex is, but I'll agree with your judgement.." She smiled behind her mug. "The good Doctor is...well..he's something..did you know he also has a few tattoos? They're interesting."

Following her example, Stormy kept the mug at her mouth as a sort of buffer and tilted it when she needed more caffeine. Not the best, but . . . Well, sugar made things better. "Ms. Ami," she clarified. "Sorry. Um, I brought them up because I saw Dr. H yesterday, and I'd never gotten a really good look at him since I only saw him a few times in battle, and his facial hair sort of reminded me of Mr. Lex's, and then I started thinking about the Life people and how pretty they are, and then I pictured Ga-"
Nopenopenope let's sip some more of that coffee.
"T-Tattoos?" she latched on quickly. "Really? What kinds?"
Candace's answer: she could keep this going for a while.

Ami? Candace frowned. Ami..Ami...ah! She knew of her. Vaguely. She looked interested when Stormy said she had seen the doctor yesterday, though she grinned when she mentioned Gale.
Heh.
"He has a crown on his forearm and a large iguana on his back in full beautiful color. It's quite a sight." Stormy was doing well, really. Candace would commend her for her efforts.
But she'd left herself open to distraction.
"So, you saw the doctor and then you pictured Gale? That's interesting. And how are you two doing?"

Stormy sighed a little and rubbed her forehead, chastising herself. "In the grand scheme of things, we're okay, yeah, interesting I guess, so those tattoos sound pretty cool huh, mmhmm, almost could picture them," she mumbled quickly, gulping down more coffee to occupy herself and to hopefully get rid of that mild blush because why had she said that.
"So he showed you those?" Stormy plowed on, inwardly telling herself to calm down. "I didn't know you were friends!"

Oh, this was fun. She loved and adored Stormy but this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Candace was able to tolerate one more sip of coffee before she had to set it down and push it away, completely at ease and relaxed unlike her companion across from her. This was adorable. "Grand scheme? Were you two having problems?" There was genuine concern behind her question. She did love both of them and wanted them to be happy. Had something happened? She needed to know they were okay. "...Yes..friends." Candace blinked. "In a manner of speaking." This was rather refreshing. Did Stormy not know? She kind of wanted to keep it that way.

"Not problems exactly . . ." She wouldn't have minded expounding on the subject, but her original intent had been to talk about the training; it probably reflected bad on her that she couldn't keep personal affairs out . . . "It's just a teensy little blip, nothing permanent, won't trouble you about it," Stormy answered mildly.
Besides, it was Candace's life they should be talking about here!
Stormy figured it was about time to just get to the point, because dancing around it only invited more questions about her."I, uh . . . I saw you with him yesterday. Well not with him I mean . . . Actually I sorta tailed you for a while?" What were words? How do you explaining a thing? "I didn't want to give up after the first two times, and I figured 'Third time's the charm', right?"

Candace rubbed her lips together when Stormy confirmed her theory. She'd seen that. "Don't tell anyone, dear," she said softly, sounding sincere. Her adoration for H had been no secret, and she had almost been weak yesterday out of stress, but she was done with him. She didn't need him anymore.
"I thought I was being followed...what did you learn, exactly?"

It was a secret? She tilted her head curiously. "Yes'm. Uh, well, I found you outside the cafeteria first," Stormy began, "around dinner time. That's where I found out how you liked your coffee!"
Pause.
"And, uh, I saw you fiddling with a ring," she added a little more self-consciously.

She stiffened briefly at the mention of the ring. Candace simply held up her left hand, showing the ring in question. "Atropos' totem is a pair of rings. Sometimes I fidget with them."

"Oh! Yeah, Gale does that too . . ." But he didn't take his off, just twisted it. Much like she wanted to right now with Thane's.
Stormy gave her a look. Well, first she admired the rings, then she gave Candace the look. She looked soft, yes, but as she'd proved on Twitter once before, she wasn't as naive as her airs made her out to be.
"I saw you move it to your ring finger, Ms. C." Realizing that sounded a little too serious, she added a smile to it. "I thought that was cute!"

Candace squinted, she then leaned over the table to put a hand to Stormy's forehead as if checking for a fever. "I think the island heat is getting to you, Stormy. You're starting to see things."
