                            XXXXXXX [ 4800 / 4800 ➞ Emperor of Aramil ➞ Incubus/Berserker 9/10 (12) ♚ Sage]

The Incubus laughed, patting his young companion on the head. "Fall over dead? Not if I can help it," Raphael lightly wrapped his arm over Kirin's shoulder, the added support from the Incubus hopefully making the journey back to the harbor less strenuous. They'd have to fly back, as the Mer were very aggressive with any maritime sort of travel. That'd be hard for Kirin, as he was already exhausted and slightly injured. "Don't worry, my good friend. I'll get you back to Aramil without any further strain." The King gently brought Kirin closer to the shore, and then got a hold of him, as well as Builder. The weight of holding the mechanical dog was sort of a hindrance, but he didn't mind much. Raphael... was strong. "Just try and relax. I know you get nauseous every time I fly you anywhere, but you're going to have to get used to it eventually. I find your robots and ships to be too slow for my tastes." He knew he'd have to come back here very soon, but he wasn't going to make Kirin go home alone. It was just too risky, with how aggressive the Mer had gotten. The Incubi bent his legs slightly, his wings sprawling outward, his tail holding Builder against his back. "Let's go home." At that moment, he took flight, bursting into the skies -- they'd be home in no time.

Agatha made it to the town with a large sac of food, looking like an anorexic Mrs. Clause. Agatha hopped along the columns and walked down the alleyways, looking around for the people of this area, wondering if there were any people at all. "I've got free FOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!" all of a sudden, the people crawled from left and right, moving closer to the food bearer. The townsfolk were in need of food and water, it looked as if they had survived on sheer willpower alone, couldn't have been the only thing. She rationed everything out with the townsfolk and closed up the bag, The people were chowing down, becoming so fat that even kin of the same race would be appalled and disgusted at the same time. Sure, they had been fed and that was the mission at hand, but then again, at what cost. To see these dull and disgusting creatures have their fill while she would only return to have an empty increase within her rank. Sure, it was an empty existence, working for man, only to be brought down by his sword later on, but it puts food on the table.

Food that helps people like Agatha survive. The kids surrounded her, as if to say that they were looking for the water, searching her person and finding her guns, bad idea. They began firing bullets everywhere, aiming like 15 year olds on COD, and just plain running around. Agatha snatched her guns away and grumbled curses under her breath. She had to give them their water, or else they'd go for her weapons again and a better idea; WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST USE THE GUNS, WHEN THEY GRABBED THEM, TO HOLD HER HOSTAGE?! Probably because they knew that they weren't going to get much from just a trainee. Not any worthwhile demands could be made from just one trainee, now, a whole school of them was another story. But I digress, Agatha took her empty sac and the backpack and made her way out of the town, not doing a dice roll because the rules are for whimps. Agatha left.

[Why thanks, I do work out]

Marcos was in an incredible mood at the moment. He had experienced quite the event, and was on an emotional high. Not only did he taste Nai in a way unlike anything before but she even gave him a physical response. He had felt her try to move, to touch but stop. Marcos could feel her push into the bite and heard the moan she had let out in the process. He knew he had it in him, and this only made him want to show Nai how much more pleasure he could bring. Marcos could blow her mind if only she would let him. His test was not lost on him, not in the slightest. Marcos had heard of how intense things could get just as he recalled what his King, Alistair Maric, had said to Nai. *If not, kill him..." Marcos recalled him saying. He looked over to Nai the ever-hooded and briefly wondered if she would actually kill him. It had been an order, Marcos was not going to lie to himself and pretend that Nai was at the point where she actually wanted him around. Maybe she at least did not mind is presence. Marcos could deal with that.

Now his mind was wandering. He wanted to get to that point where Nai wanted him around, or at least found him useful. Marcos resolved himself and swore that he would kick this test's a**. Even if it was spiders, or worse; tentacles. The very thought made Marcos briefly shiver, which knocked him out of his musings. They had been walking for awhile and he did not even notice that they made it to Val'Ghast, the town of ghoulies and monsters. He would probably end up having to fight a giant creature with deadly deadliness. Why could he not just have to make a really nice cake or put on a show for someone? Marcos swatted his tail at nothing in particular to get himself back on track. The area around them was kind of serene, you know if not for the creatures certainly crawling around them at this moment. He had confidence in his ability to be bait for Nai to take care of things. For now he'd just stick by her and see what would happen.

The town Nai and Marcos were walking through at the moment was known simply as the Harrowed Town. The man who had shipped them to Val'Ghast had offered to just take them to the town, but Nai had refused. Instead, she asked for him to drop them off a little bit away from the town. She wanted to get a taste of the monster activity at the edges of Val'Ghast while walking to the town.

Unlikely as it was, nothing attacked her or Marcos as they walked into the ruins of the city now inhabited largely by children. The detail wasn't lost on Nai, and she asked in her usual, choppy manner one of the children that were staring wide-eyed at the two new visitors. She got the information she wanted. Someone from Uuma had visited the town in the last few days, clearing through monsters and eventually destroying the broodmother that was spawning all the beasties. That, in turn, all but wiped out the monster population within a couple miles of the place.

There seemed to be no other news or information of interest known to the kids, so Nai made her way to a flat surface upon which she spread out the map of the entire region of Val'Ghast she had bought at Port Hazel. It wasn't very detailed, but that was the best that could be done for a region shrouded in so much dangerous mystery. The entire concept of scouting by heading out and then simply walking back the same way was full of an inefficiency that did not suit Nai. However, the lack of safe spots, the uncertainty of notable landmarks, and the fact that she and Marcos would likely need to turn back at different times made it the only practical plan of action.

This last look at the map before setting off simply confirmed to Nai that she would not be able to enter the search for the lost city of Val'Ghast with even the most minimally definite plan. All she would be able to do is march to the general center of the region. "North-east," she gave Marcos the general direction of their trip, tracing her intention to head towards the center on the map with an index finger. A long shadow on the ground had Nai glance up to a mid-afternoon sun.

Nai chose to be efficient with time. She stored the map away and walked in the northeastern direction. Once she left the ruins behind, Nai casually left marks, holding nothing back but not necessarily trying either. Twigs were snapped, debris kicked away, all to leave some kind of noticeable but natural trail. Up until nightfall, the hike was rather uneventful. Nothing disturbed the two, much less tried to attack them. Once again, Nai felt something off. She couldn't quite place the feeling, though. All she knew was that it felt dangerous.

Darkness fell, deadening Nai's sight, but she remained ever-vigilant. Her other senses worked harder to make up for what her eyes had lost. While they were hardly any better than they should be for a human's senses, Nai knew how to use them. Every rustle in the bush, shift in the wind, change in scent, everything was registered by the girl's placid mind even if nothing showed in her movements.

Nothing until Nai heard something rubbing against the leaves above her. When a shadow moved over her, covering what little light shone from the night sky and through the trees, Nai knew to move and shoot. She dodged the web shot down at her, jumping to the side as she pulled out a gun, aimed, and shot twice. The large creature dropped and plummeted to the ground, landing with a nasty squash and guts everywhere. Gun still in hand, Nai walked up to the unmoving body to cautiously stroke one of its legs. She felt a weak outer layer and sparse hair along with splatters of gore and rips from the impact of falling to the ground. The light that was free to travel to the ground once more shone on a horn-like appendage, eight legs, and revealed the creature to be the size of horse. Nai recollected that all of them were supposed to be dead since their broodmother was gone.
{And another one is nearby,} a sing-song voice slipped in and out, provoking Nai to fruitlessly wait for more.

After about a minute, Nai decided to continue walking. Soon, though, she met with another Arachnid Fiend. Then two. Then an Arachnid Assassin. All of them aimed at the one in lead first, Nai, so all of them met their end before Marcos had a chance to react. However, the increasing difficulty of the encounters did not pass Nai unnoticed, Upon realizing this, Nai turned to Marcos. She already knew what she was going to do: plow on straight ahead. With that kind of plan, leisurely walking would just stretch it out unnecessarily. Nai was going to run straight to the broodmother and take her out there. As for Marcos, she didn't care. He could do whatever, so she merely informed, "Clearing Arachnic nest. Five shots: safe," before dashing off fully expecting Marcos to remain behind.

(OOC: So, I'm assuming that Marcos isn't going to remain behind and I hope I'm right because him starting this exam depends on that sweatdrop . I also hope you don't mind how much I skipped over you. I just thought you'd prefer getting to the exam faster over idly exchanging posts.

As for how the test will go. The directions are almost the same as what Shane posted in the first post. Just lower the number you have to reach from 10 to 5 and replace all the rolls that involve an Arachnic Lord with getting lost. Start rolling 3nodding .)

Marcos was a few moments slower in reaction time than Nai was. The moment something popped out she would shoot it and dispatch it almost instantly. He on the other hand was sincerely not enjoying this. Spiders were gross, and these were really, really big spiders. But rather than making himself look like a giant sissy he put up his false bravado and followed her. Eventually Nai sprinted off, saying something about being safe. This rooted Marcos in his place, but only because Nai had not specified what she meant. For about two minutes Marcos remained where he was, listening to Nai fire off shots and the sounds of the nature around him. But then Marcos' mind began to wander. What if a group of spiders came and tried to eat his beautiful body? Marcos' mouth fell open in an 'o' shape and he held his hands up to cover his horror. Marcos let off a girly shriek as he imagined what might be happening to Nai at this moment. For all Marcos knew she was being digested at this very moment. This was enough to shake him from his terror and send him running into the forest. The only issue was he had no idea where he was going.

Marcos kept on running through the forest, hopping over roots and ducking under branches. There was an opening in trees that called to Marcos, so he turned and headed right through it.

Marcos kept on walking towards his goal, which was finding out where the balls he was. He stumbled out of the brush and stopped in his tracks. Of course he would run into ******** spiders.
