When he saw that Al had retrieved two equally large mugs, Jordan grinned and went to get the milk out of the refrigerator, making sure to open the door only as far as he absolutely had to so as not to let too much warm air in. He poured a generous portion of milk into one mug and put the milk back. "You can put milk in first or after you pour the coffee, but don't put the sugar in till the coffee's in the cup," he instructed. "It melts better that way."

His eyebrows jumped as he registered Al's question, but he kept his expression neutral and friendly. "When I knew I wasn't into girls?" he guessed. Al was being curious rather than disrespectful, so Jordan wasn't inclined to push buttons yet.

It was probably natural that Jordan was going to have this conversation repeatedly, since he was probably the most approachable of the three of them. No, not probably. It was a good thing that Al wasn't trying to have this conversation with Rep or Harrison. "I kind of figured when I realized that I liked the idea of kissing a guy more than I'd liked actually kissing my girlfriends," he said, and shrugged a little. "I thought, oh, well, that explains some things."

"Sure." Jordan nodded. He was pretty sure he knew what Al was about to say.

"Well, then, you're either bi or straight," Jordan said, keeping on an equally serious face. "And I agree with your second point."

Jordan grinned at Ferros's annoyed response and turned to the coffee pot, pushing the plunger down. "Push it down slowly, so the grounds will be less likely to swirl up at the edges," he instructed.

"Bisexual, attracted to both genders." Jordan poured the coffee into the cups, dropped several cubes of sugar into Al's, and handed him the mug and a spoon to stir with. "There. Now you know the process of making coffee."

Jordan sipped his coffee, contemplating how to answer that question. "Well, if you have a girlfriend, does that mean you're never attracted to other girls? Even if you don't act on that attraction? Like, say, if someone with an incredible rack in a low-cut shirt walks by, are you going to be totally unaffected because you have a girlfriend?"

"You can't pick who you're attracted to, but you can pick whether you're going to do anything about that," Jordan pointed out. "So if you think guys and girls are both hot, and you start dating a girl, you probably still look when someone hot walks by, but you can choose not to go after them. Thinking someone's hot doesn't make you cheat. Make sense?"

"Objectively," he added, smirking, "I'd say Candace, Rin, or Cass, but I wouldn't advise being too obvious about looking at them, and I don't think I'm really the best person to be asking about excellent racks. Try asking Dakota, maybe."

"Only as much as you're missing out on anyone you're not dating when you're in a relationship. Presumably, if you're with someone exclusively, you're happy with them and you care about them enough that that outweighs something that's just physical." Jordan sipped his coffee. "I mean, obviously there's people who cheat, but what kind of body you're attracted to doesn't influence how likely you are to cheat. That's like, uh." He paused, thinking. "That's like saying, if you like blondes and brunettes, that if you're dating a blonde, you're missing out on the brunettes."
