"Mnggngng."
It was clear from the get go that Stormy was not a morning person, and that morning person encompassed anytime she had to wake up really. Her eyes were drooping more than usual, she looked unamused, and she was quite listless despite his affection. Thoroughly oblivious to how this might be stirring the pot again (her mind wasn't really cognizant this close after waking up), she did, however, snuck a kiss to his shoulder in before she was held properly, limp as a doll in Gale's arms; she was still contemplating talking or sleeping.
Maybe both . . . ?
"Cozy~" she hummed childishly, snuggling against him as best she could as her eyes fells closed. "Hmmmm~ Readin' somethin' specific or just bored?"

Sleepy Stormy was ridiculously, unfairly adorable. Gale felt his stomach swoop and flutter stupidly as she kissed his shoulder, and he pulled her further closer to him so that she was sitting sideways in his lap now, his arms around her waist to keep her there.
He could have stayed like this forever, he thought.
"Just passing the time," he said lightly, and smoothed her hair back away from her face again, trying to ignore the way his heart was leaping against his chest in excited beats. Unable to stop himself, he leaned over and kissed the side of her head again, bending over Stormy.
"Is this how to wake you up properly?" he murmured playfully, and tapped her face with his fingertips. He ducked his head and pressed a light kiss to her lips. "Isn't this how they do it in the Disney movies?"

She made a little face. "Hope you weren't bored..." Wouldn't that just be the most awful thing? Being so bored and yet not being able to move? Well no, he probably could have, considering she often slept like a log...
The second wave of kisses made her squeak with drowsy laughter, and a coy Stormy ducked her head. "Almost," she mumbled, sucking her lips in to keep the imprint just a bit more. She was trying to rouse her mind, trying to figure out if maybe he had remembered...or if he was simply being affectionate like he had been earlier. Either way the thought lazily sank back into the murky recesses because she was soaking up the attention happily, whatever the reason. Why worry it?
"You're missing the swell of the soundtrack," she pointed out with a terribly amused smile, opening her eyes a crack so she didn't have to reach blindly and secured her arms around his waist. "Hmm...I know you, I danced with you once upon a dream~" Her voice was a little rusty from sleep, but it was good enough for her. "I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam~"
Stormy had aimed for his cheek, but it ended up closer to his jaw instead. This brought out a few groggy giggles.
"How's your head? Feel less...mumbo jumbo alakazam poof confused?"

"Nope," said Gale, enjoying the way he was making her giggle and squirm, and he curled his arms around her, feeling stupidly happy even in such messy, chaotic, confusing times. "Not bored at all. I read while you slept and that was enough to keep me occupied."
It felt oddly familiar with her arms around his waist; like somehow they fit there, and Gale's heart was doing stupid, ridiculous leaps inside of his chest, which felt tight and like it was slightly hard to breathe. Still, it was hard to stay focused when Stormy was being sleepy and affectionate, and it made him want to be affectionate right back to her.
He may not have remembered, but body memory was an entirely different story.
"Fine," said Gale, his skin tingling where she had kissed it. He brought her fingers to his lips and kissed them before putting his forehead against the side of hers, his laughter in her ear and in her hair. "Next time I'll put some proper music on."
He cradled her face in his hand and kissed her again, unable to stop himself, and it lasted longer than he had originally meant it to. When he pulled away again, his face was flushed, and he felt marginally like he had pushed too far, but Gale curled up with Stormy in his arms and gave a small sigh.
"No more headache," he conceded. "But still struggling to remember, unfortunately. Still..."
He smiled down at her. "You're doing pretty well of giving me reminders, I must say."

"Someone's being extra affectionate today~" she cooed, biting her lip to try and stop the smile stretching her face as his lips brushed her fingers and his breath tickled her ear and . . . She was practically melting with how hot her face was starting to get--which amped up to burning at the unexpectedly prolonged kiss; she had already started to sink in when Gale pulled back, leaving her momentarily breathless.
That, plus the mention of proper music, plus her vivid imagination woke her up really fast.
Pretty sure that her skin had more red to it than her skin did at this point, Stormy ducked her head against his neck and tucked her chin. "I-I try," she mumbled, a little light-headed. Breathe, girl, this wasn't the first time you'd kissed. "Hope one'll stick eventually . . ." And if not, well, she'd happily find a way to keep giving him reminders.
After a moment, she glanced up at him. "Do you need to go on patrol today?"

He knew he was without her having to say it, but again, there was that irresistible pull towards her that was ever present, even without the missing memories. And perhaps that was why he felt this odd, strange urge to always be affectionate with her - his body was attempting to make up for what was missing inside of his head.
Gale lifted his eyebrows. "Would you rather me not be affectionate?" he asked, pulling slightly away. "Because I can move, you know, leave you alone..."
He trailed off, fighting a smile. A flush tinged his cheeks as Stormy pushed her face against his neck, and he curled his arms around her, his face in her hair, eyes flickering shut as he breathed in her scent, her nearness.
He'd missed this without knowing that he'd missed this.
"...not today," Gale mumbled, his voice muffled. "Not that I'd go anyway, I want to stay with you for now."
A pause.
"If that's okay."

Her arms slackened a little when he shifted, but her hands remained locked. "You would go, Gale," Stormy stated as a matter of factly, "because that'd be your duty. Last thing I want to be is a distraction; I mean, maybe that's the one time something happens, and then I'd just feel awful...
"But, at the same time--" Stormy shifted a bit, highly sensitive to the pressure of his face now that she didn't had so much hair to cushion it (though not unpleasantly so; quite the opposite). "--I really like this~ It's different from the composed and serious Gale I first met, but it's still the same you. Isn't that funny when you think about it?" She hummed a laugh like it really had been, curling against him further.
"Don't be any less anything," Stormy added. "Okay, Gale? Because you're not too cold or too hot, you're juuuuust riiiiight~ Hah! Bear joke from Ursulina! Get it?" She looked awfully proud of it apparently as she lounged in his embrace, grinning lazily before yawning.
"If anything, always be more. Like...you should be more tanned, Mr. Pale Brit." Languidly Stormy raised a hand and poked his at his arm. "Sun's out; we should go to the beach."

She had a point. Gale gave a small groan and sighed. "You're a very nice distraction, though," he said, in a very matter-of-fact tone of voice as he pulled his face away from her hair, reaching up a hand to absently drift his fingers through the newly shortened strands.
He smiled at her. "I like this too," he said happily, his stomach twisting with pleasure as she moved closer to him. "Even though I can't remember when we first met, I remember being serious. Well, er, I'm always serious, I suppose..."
Stormy was making him feel very silly - in a good way. Gale gave a snort of laughter and leaned forward, pressing a kiss to her forehead as his fingers slid lazily down her face and neck.
He pulled back, grinning. "Are you asking me out on a swimming date?" he teased.

"Why, thank you~ My cuteness is quite a weapon, you know." Shivers and tingling followed in the wake of his fingers, and she tried her best not to look so physically affected. Forehead wrinkling at the kiss, Stormy lifted her head to look at him properly (restraining the impulse to loll her head against his hand some more like a cat).
"Bix said you were always like that," she continued, unable to help herself to another yawn. "But that's okay--serious means dependable and solid and professional, and I think that's just super awesome 'cause I can't seem to do any of that really. And it's way more fun to mess with people like you~" Stormy added with a wink.
Removing her arms from Gale's waist, she started to stretch them out, joints popping a few times, grinning in return. "Hmmmmm...Swimming? If by swimming you mean you get in your swim suit and duck around the shallow end while I so on the sand and watch~" Stormy pecked his cheek and patted it. "There's no barrier keeping things out now, and while I totally still need swim lessons, I'm not...really willing to risk it with the water like it is." The kraken was one time far too many in her life. "Unless you want to! I frankly am happy to soak up some sun on the safety of land."

Gale gave a small snort. "Bix needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut," he said, his cheeks slightly pink as Stormy moved away, Gale's hand reluctantly slipping away from her. He glanced back up at her with a dry sort of smile. "He's always getting me into trouble, that one."
Stretching his arms upwards, Gale ruffled his hair back away from his face and laughed. "I'm not a big fan of the giant creatures out there either, so sitting on the beach sounds just fine to me, if that's what you want to do."
He stood up and pulled her with him.
"So. Beach, sandwiches, relaxing...?"

"Mmmmmm~" She was a little shaky upon standing up and really got into stretching after all that time curled up. "And talking," Stormy chirped, letting one arm fall around his shoulder. "Lots of talking or else I'll fall asleep some more and become a cuddle monster you can't escape. Last time I asked about you; this time you can ask about me!" She pat his shoulder and slipped away, rounding the coffee table.
"Give me twenty minutes, alright? I'll meet you on the south end of the island!" She waved a little without looking back. "Remember sunscreeeen, Galedilocks~"

Galedilocks.
In the time it took Gale to go upstairs and get changed, his mind was already working fervently to try and remember the missing pieces. But remembering what you had forgotten when you didn't know you had forgotten it in the first place was rather like trying to remember a dream - everything was fragmented and confusing.
You don't remember anything either?
<< Not at all. Probably because our minds are connected. >>
When he arrived at the south end of the island approximately fifteen minutes later, there was a small frown on his face; it was less that he was unhappy and more that he was lost in thought, Gale tapping a finger against his cheek as he sat in the sand in a pair of black shorts and a white teeshirt, a small box sitting next to him.

Dun nun.
< < Your antics bore me sometimes. > >
Stormy had been practicing her sneaking skills lately. Sand was a new obstacle, sure, but she was up for a challenge!
Dun nun.
Thane sighed a long-suffering sigh.
The Jaws theme played in her head as she crept up from behind, her footsteps slow and sinking, already grinning. Under her arm was a rather large umbrella and towel, and over the other was a messenger bag.
"Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun," she started to murmur, her shadow giving her away before she could get close enough to attack hug him from behind. Next time.
Grinning girlishly, Stormy sidled up beside Gale in a flowery blouse and shorts. "Hey~ This is just in case it gets too much," she explained with a motion to the umbrella before setting it and the bag down. "Got that sunscreen on? I don't want to take an order of chips home~"

Gale had been entirely lost within thought and hadn't even noticed Stormy approaching him until she pounced, her arms around him, and Gale let out a startled yelp, dropping the book he had in one hand. He started laughing, patting one of her hands and grinning as she sat next to him.
"Yes, I have sunblock on," he said with a roll of his eyes. "Blimey, you'd think I was pale or something."
Still laughing, he leaned over and pecked her cheek affectionately before leaning back. "It's actually rather nice out, I thought it might be too hot, but it's not too bad."
He reached beside him, picked up the box and held it up.
"Snacks," he said.ol-j-man I just giggled a lot sdlkfsf stormy pls

"Heee, blimey~ You blush so easily, okay, I'm afraid you'll burn!" Pecking his cheek, she let him go and cooed over the snack box. "Excellent! Bag's got some water bottles," she replied, rolling out the towel before settling down on it, offering him a spot if he wanted. "We used to have a bit of chocolate, but we sort of ate that up once the AC stopped working..." Sigh.
Stormy opened the box and investigated its contents with avid curiosity. "Not too hot, huh? It does feel nice~ Middle of the afternoon, though, like noon to three ish? Awfuuul. Sand just burns everything that touches it! Vitamin D from the sun helps, though; gets you that seratonin."
She paused in her search to lightly bump Gale's shoulder with hers. "It's good we're outside," she said with a smile. "Relaxing. Once the portals are up again, I'll take you to a real beach, promise."
