I think maybe there should be separate threads for certain games that hosts can make so there won't be confusion for those who are just role-playing. Also make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to rules and deadlines.

Sometimes we gotta get messy to get organized. And that's what this is. Messiness.
Can't have subforums til we know everything.

Mahou Shoujo Usako I did a lot of Question answering...just I setup my own threads for it *nods*...I ran the Guest Book, Introduce Yourself + Questions and a few other threads...I was also a floating co-host. As for the info on the rooms, it was available in advance in the subsections of the last guilds forum.
Oh, never said she was the onlyone.. just happens that, by the time I was RPing around, she was the one I saw the most. And, better explaining my suggestion; these were available a week before. We needed that with a little more advance, and I tell you why: cuz floaters cant have a character that suits a certain sepcific type of room. We ned a little more time to be able to come out with a RP character wich can adapt to any room. I was lucky this time it had to do with books, I RP'd a bookworm that became human, with loads of knowledge from the books but no real experiences on his own. Certain past balls would be easy like that to bring up a "generic" floating co-host; but in the future, dependin on the main ball and each room theme, we could have a little trouble, say, explaining "why the heck is a vampire-elf handling the half-angel-half-dwarf room?". mrgreen

Officially all floating co-hosts were supposed to be librarians...this was stated quite a few times, both in public and though announcements.

Depends on the main ball host.

Epcot Illuminations True. Might work, might not, might seem usefull, might seem useless. But while we're at it, I'd rather point a detail that could bring a small headache, rather than seeking an aspirin later XD My bad if I look like I'm pressing this matter so hard, it's just my "pen'n'paper" veteran side talking loud. Seen this before and, everytime something such as this happened, it was the DM (or narrator, whatever) who had to settle somehow. I don't believe something like that would happen even at this next ball, but if floatters become a common role one day, should the situation I pointed out (the unability of a floater to "suit" a certain room, for whatever reason) presents, it'll be the ball main host who'll end up with another work on his hands: to rearrange the floater, or set another host or co-host (altough floatters ought to be able to rearrange on their own). Call it pessimistic if you like, but still, I'd rather find and point out a situation I'm familiar with and suggest a simple way to prevent it, rather than expect it not to happen and feel like useless if it happens -and I did not say a word beforehand. Mytwo cents. And I'm done with it for now, as you said, let the next ball host take this matter as he/she/it sees fit.

Don't worry about the messiness, everyone. It's been barely a week since the last ball ended and we all need a little bit of cooling down, otherwise you'll have a whole bunch of over-worked, braindead zombies hosting the ball next year.
But whoever the main host will be next year, I assume he/she will do an excellent job cleaning up the guild! You guys should've seen how much the guild changed after Robayn stepped up to be the host last year!
All will happen in time. (:

Well, that's why when I had the idea to float (originally it was just going to be me, but I'm happy other people joined) I decided upon a character who wouldn't be directly part of the plot, but would still be related. There's always sorts of characters that don't seem important that can be part of the plot. I mean if we go with pirates (which is likely, with the popularity of the idea), the floaters would be naval officers. I'd probably say that whoever ends up coordinating the floaters would have to check with the main host. That's what I did.

Funny part is...when I "came up"with the idea of "floating", did it on my own thinking. Then I PM'd Robayn and she told me to contact you.. and that's when I first "heard" I was a floater. XD you probably still have the PM. and then again I thought I was being original. Well, sorta did, but wit a delay mrgreen

Then I asked to convert the ballroom forum into a forum for us floaters.

I suggest a thread that explains some of the older references that a younger generation might not understand. For example, explaining what a speakeasy actually is, and other things that really don't exist any more.

Sachie Whitby Malomy I suggest a thread that explains some of the older references that a younger generation might not understand. For example, explaining what a speakeasy actually is, and other things that really don't exist any more. Question: Would they actually read it? Some of them might. At any rate, it'd save people some explaining as you'd have a place to point people about this kind of thing.
