All at once his face lit up as. There was a sudden shift in his body as he almost tackled her down and hugged on to her.

There were tears on his face but he hid his face by burying it against her stomach, "FAYRE...Fayre..fayre..." His shoulders shook with the force of his sobs.

That was all he wanted. This right here. He didn't care about glory if it was without her. He didn't care to become more than prey if it was without her at his side.

He felt weak without her. Weak and alone. Scattered in mind and body.

"Fayre..." His fingertips gripped the bits of her that appeared to be clothing.

She took a step back to steady herself as he slammed into her, and her body crumbled just enough to be closer to him, curling her arms around him so his weight didn't drop her to the ground. He was crying, her name kept falling from his lips, and she didn't know what to do. She wanted to comfort him. She wanted the smiling man to return. She wanted to see him shine.

So she reached down and picked up his head, pressing her own forehead against his, and stared intensely into his eyes. "Tiletk." She murmured softly. "Don't be sad. I'm here! See?" She picked up his hand and put it on her arm. "I'm right here. I'm sorry I scared you." Her face lit up in a glorious grin. "But I'm glad I could help keep you alive. You were amazing."

She was still looking right into his eyes, when she felt something tugging her. The back of her mind was tricking her into seeing things for brief seconds, but she knew they weren't real. Bright lights, the smell of something sweet and salty..

And then she heard it - a voice; not his, not hers.. so foreign, so strange -

She pressed a kiss against his forehead, and gave him a reassuring smile. Her fingernails raked around to his back, scratching softly with comfort. "Yehr always safe in the air with me."

It was gone as quickly as it had come. But somehow, the sentiment remained.

Tears still spilled out as she pressed her forehead to his, it couldn't be helped. There had been a moment of genuine grief, silly or not. There were just some things he was not prepared to be with.

"I..I could have been better. I could have protected you more. I should have protected you more" He hissed out stubbornly as his hands reached up to touch at her face now.

He wasn't sure what he'd been doing on his own for so long. Short moments apart were fine, they each had their own answers to look for, their own quests to fulfill but the idea that he would have to go longer than just a 'short moment' and have to find her again? It was terrifying.

"Shhhhh." She hushed him, bringing several of her fingers up to rest against his lips and keep his worries quiet. "You were perfect."

Her eyes closed, as warning signals began to buzz in her head. There was something about all of this; it felt so familiar, but she knew - she just knew that couldn't be possible. It was too easy to lean her head into his hands when he touched her face. Too simple to linger against his lips with her fingertips. She hardly knew the man, she knew nothing about him, nothing-

And yet she knew everything she needed to know, already.

Her body slumped just slightly as the hesitance within her faded, and she chuckled at the incredulous nature of two strangers clasped together so intimately, with no apparent desire to ever part.

"Tiletk." She said his name again, the sounds falling easily from her lips. "I wish your name sounded familiar."

She wished it sounded much like the way his arms felt. Like home.

Tiletk let out a small sniffling grumble as she shushed him. He let her pay him the compliment stopped crying, gradually anyways. The tears soon stopped and his head settled on her shoulder.

"I wish...Anything was familiar. I just know it feels right to be with you and to fight along side you...You aren't useless - you are my inspiration to keep going." He said simply.

Then he froze a moment, "I..Is that odd to say? We only met ... five or six times? More? Less....I don't know..Time has no meaning. Time is stupid..."

All his rambles made her giggle. She shifted to sit more comfortably, holding him cradled in her arms as she rocked back and forth. "If I think about it too much, I get sad. Because I know something's missing."

She paused.

"Was." The side of her head pressed against him fondly. "Was missing."

"Was.." He said softly with a small smile appearing on his face again. Tiletk let her hold onto him as he reached to hold onto her. For the time being everything was perfect. Just stealing a second or two to themselves.

He felt rested enough but he still wanted to stay here in her arms just a bit more...

A bit more...

"..We should go soon," there was a soft sound of resignation to his voice.

"There's the smiling man." She bent in and her fingers pressed against the corners of his lips when he smiled. She was glad to see him again. But when he told her it was time to go, she made a grumpy sound, and curled herself tighter around him.

"Why?"

"It's not safe here for one thing." He chuckled a little bit. "What if that thing comes back to life like we did...?"

What if something worse came along?

"I don't think I want to play with it again, Fayre." He said softly.

That was good enough for her.

She uncurled herself from him, and tried to help him stand up. She felt dizzy, and weak, but there was something else. Something she couldn't really explain, but it felt so good, so good.

She took his hand and stumbled out.

He wished he had the strength to carry her right then but he only squeezed her hand and quietly murmured, "We'll find a place to rest," he promised softly as they made as much distance between them and this place as possible.

When he felt it was safe enough he would rest with her.
