It all flooded back to her, that life merging with this one. Things made more sense, things hurt a little more but she understood why she was here. There were so many memories spiraling in her head, but some of them she was just willing to let go.

"YOU," she shouted, pointing dramatically at a random witch, whom she then ran up to and grabbed by the arms. "Play this game with me? Pretty please?"

"You did very well, sweet thing. Thank you for helping Demi, he really did need it." She cooed quietly to the ghoul, giving her a bright smile. "Don't cry! You were a good ghoul."

Though, she wasn't too sure about the small little jar that was passed to her. Courage and strength? She had read about such a potion before perhaps, but probably passed over thinking there would be no chance of working for her.

She looked over towards her brothers and sister as they practiced their spell work with their mother by their side, nothing was exploding and nothing was going wrong. She was not gifted with such traits apparently and only seemed to be good with sticking her nose in books.

Whoever this Maple was, Palem hoped the words helped her. If they were memories, hopefully they did. The shadow smiled and pulled the last fragment close before turning to go give them as offerings.

Like before, the drink was cold to the taste but in itself refreshing. And from it she could feel her memories shift and settle anew, rearranging themselves to make "more" sense.

There was not much left of this place, being taken over by decay and rot and what might have been crumbling buildings. It was hauntingly pretty really, from what she could gather as she stepped into the new place. Different than the last. Scenic maybe.

She always felt like a scavenger, firing one single pathetic shot from the back and then scurrying away after picking up loot.

She let out a squeak when the arms came around her, unsure of how to react. But it felt nice and it felt like it was rejuvenating her.

She felt a rush and warmth within her core. Filling her with purpose and almost as if making her so close to whole. She felt... solid as the wave left her, featured.

The first tear took the last remaining breath right out of her in a gurgled gasp. The pain sharp. The second simply released a fresh set of silent tears down her face. She couldn't even ask why. Simply fell on the ground below her, the last images flashing before her eyes as it held her beating blue heart in one hand and a pair of rusted scissors in the other.

All she seemed to ever do is run into the cats that said 'hello.'

There was something familiar about the boy, and she hoped she would be able to run into him again sometime.

She just has to practice, that's that they told her. Practice and she could get better.

Gripping the gun felt awkward, she tried to shift it a little before she fired another shot.

The pole arm felt more familiar in her grip, like it was a better extension of herself then the gun could have ever been.

The top. She had made it. Palem wanted to lay down the instant she was there, relieved and so happy.

The pink jar so far hadn't lead her astray so she chose the pink cup and sipped.

Some of the memories she would be sad to see go, they had filled her with hope. But those too, along with the bad, drifted away from her leaving her with a gentle smile on her face.

"This was the very first book I read, same as your grandmother and before her. Our first spell book. From here you will learn," she was told, her eyes wide and excited. "All these books are for you to learn, you'll be an amazing witch yet."

No one tried to comfort her as she finally gave in and fell to her knees, silently crying (daring really not to let them see her tears, her anguish and wail in her defeat. She would only give them this...)

Move!
But she didn't, too unsure... to confused. Scared really to do much else. But it was too late anyways.

Amphi was right though, trying to sneak along had been terrible, they had been caught by so many guards and so maybe just taking this guy on was the best route. The girl swallowed and pulled out her weapon, her own one she had finally managed to obtain. And found.... she had a broom instead.
