This time, the shard was secured on his way down from the statue, and that warm feeling washed over Imuiel once more. Yes, that was something he could get used to very quickly--
"Zhirak..." A voice, muffled and scratchy. Just one word this time, not that song from before. It sounded...disapproving.
Shrugging his shoulders, the shape carried on, soon drawing near to Shasa.He hadn't been this close to another heart before, and he briefly hesitated, breathing a soft sigh as he debated. Might as well, anyway. Perhaps contact could provide additional information on the current...well, everything.
"You-- Do you know where....where we are?" His speech was halting this time, and he couldn't help but feel somewhat disappointed by this. He had at least put forth the effort, so it couldn't be said that he hadn't tried.

Lhaimik noticed a peculiar pattern of alternating failure and success and found himself amused by it.
Her previous hello had gone unanswered, and so Shasa continued on with dogged determination. She could sense the others milling around - where were they going, what were they doing? - and could only assume after a moments time that they were as lost as she was. Their Hearts were bright and blue just as her own.
Lost, but not alone.
She continued her search.

The pattern broke. He sighed, mildly frustrated. Frustration slowly turned into a simmering ire and it burst out, letting out steam before there was a real explosion.
WHAT THE CRAP! The words were out of his mouth. The volume surprised him. In his short state of being, he hadn't expected himself to shout. He was embarrassed and hoped no one had heard.

Snapping out of her daydream, Lyzzi reached out for another fragment, hoping that it wouldn't move as she made her way towards it. Coming into contact with it, she again heard someone's voice in her head - an apology? She frowned, but quickly recovered, the voice forgotten as she took a step towards the next fragment.

Finally! Arsenic was almost, almost elated at the grasp of a second fragment, so close to where she'd found the first. Clearly this was a good place to stake out orbs. Laughing, she picked it up out of thin air, rolling it in her fingers as the memory settled in her mind.
Another fragment, without context or meaning, save for a deep sadness. For what? She eyed the orb for a long minute, contemplative... But pocketed it all the same.
She needed more for her Goddess. So close, and yet so very far.

Rika made another jump towards a shard. She gasped audibly as her hands clasped around it and she dropped to the ground.
Again the echo sounded in her head, but she was ready for it this time.

A fourth orb was in his grasp after some awkward maneuvering. But it was his.
Make us proud.
Make who proud? It didn't matter. He would make himself proud by collecting these orbs. These voices were of little importance. Perhaps the orbs were speaking to him. The thought was intriguing but insignificant.
Was she to be trapped here forever? Always searching for something that felt forever out of reach? Would she never obtain what the Goddesses had sent her to find?
Would she be complete upon finishing this task?
Another surge of frustration. Fleeting.

The place was not as quiet as the other places it had been. What little places it had been. There were gray lights that danced and reflected in the large pools of water all around, and walking slowly, it watched them move and flicker around him. Crumbled stone made patchy landmarks that jutted out of the water while a turning path lead the way. There were shapes further off with blue hearts like him, moving here and there without seeming to be at one place more than another.
Moving, he spotted one of the lights, and reached out to see it flash away. He didn't rush after it, but kept moving until he heard a word.
Hello?...Is anyone out there?"
He was, as he looked around, and moved to the voice. "I'm here?" It was. He could tell he was here, though what here wasn't he wasn't sure. What little he could tell was that he had a presence in this location. "Where is here?"

This was practically a hot spot of activity. Arsenic plucked another orb up as it popped into her line of vision, grinning wide as this orb seemed to bring with it warmth -- what was that emotion? Embarassment? Elation? It was a conflicting one, and Arsenic was quick to be done with it.
She pocketed the orb, and looked around for more, grinning. Ever closer, she was, to pleasing the goddess and completing her task for the day.
