Cyrus leaned forward into the ropes as Salem slumped against the middle rope. He reached down to try and assist Croft back to a vertical position. The Dream would then attempt to wrap his arms around the Charismatic Calamity and lift him up to suplex him back to the ring.

Though Cyrus didn't strike, what he had planned was far more fearsome than another stroke across the chin. Salem tried to grapple with "The Dream" as he initiated his lock-up, but the previous shots to his crown and jewels left the lad lacking the leverage to halt him. In a sensational display of strength, Leone lifted The Deuce clear over the ropes, snapping his spine like a stalk of celery across the canvas!

Slamming Salem Croft into the canvas, The Dream's legs suddenly shot up upon impact, using the momentum to flip himself on top of the Charismatic Calamity. From here the man of Dreams quickly hooked a leg and went for the pin!

The ropes shook from the impact of Salem's body being thrown down into the canvas, the fans ecstatically on their feet in support of Cyrus' attempt to pin Mr. Money In The Bank. In fact, the man in question was forced back down to the mat a second time by Leone's cover, his spine having bowed back from the force of his fall from grace. Still, through the pain on his face the freshman struggled to get a shoulder up, his legs not cooperating enough to kick-out at the count of one. But, at two-and-a-half, Croft tried bucking an arm up defiantly, hoping to break the count before the referee called the match.

The Dream immediately got back to his feet after the pin was broken. Cheers erupted from the fans from the showmanship from Cyrus. He would quickly send a stomp down on Salem in an attempt to slow him down a moment before leaping over his opponent and dashing towards the ropes. Cyrus planted his left foot on the middle rope, sending him up high enough to plant his right foot on the top rope and attempted to hit Salem with the Untamed Moonsault.

Salem was shaken, slow to recover as Cyrus stomped his chest as a precautionary measure. His breath cut short by the surprising shock, he lacked the lung power to heave himself back up in time before "The Dream" went airborne - landing on the languid athlete with his stunning moonshot!

Cyrus stood on his knees after hitting the moonsault, wrapping his arms around his chest after the impact. He planted a firm foot on the ground and reached down, attempting to pull Salem to his feet. The Dream would lift Salem onto his shoulder and with a smirk, would attempt the Charismatic Calamity's own finisher, the Guillotine DDT.

Just because "The Dream" may have made Salem a bed, it didn't mean the rookie planned to lie in it. Pulled up to his feet, the daredevil glared defiantly at Cyrus while cradling his ribcage, still sore in his bones from the beating he'd been suffering since the start of the match. Despite the many stipulations of this match, the pair of predators still found ways to wage their bitter battle against one another, emotions running rampant across the arena.

For months now, Cyrus had been subjected to psychological warfare, extending even to those close to him, such as the dear Joe "The Pizza Guy". From arenas to hospitals, their encounters created controversy between the change-toting contender and the dream-seeking scholar. In fact, the old dog seemed to be showing off a new trick - lifting Croft up onto his shoulders to try using The Deuce's own Guillotine DDT finisher against the freshman!

But before the warrior could heave the light-heavyweight over his head, the slippery Salem would leash an arm around Leone's neck while shifting back behind the veteran...the goal being diffuse The Dream's dominance by initiating a reverse-facing Guillotine Headlock, a twist on his signature submission!

The Dream was taken by surprise when the M.W. Deuce was able to quickly recover and force him into a reverse Guillotine Headlock. Cyrus' hands instinctively went to Salem's arm in attempts to pry it off his neck, but it was already locked in.

Salem was standing behind Cyrus, his submission sunk in as Leone was leaned backward into the headlock. Though the veteran fighter was flailing, the M.W. Deuce showed no signs of letting go...stepping backward a couple paces to the nearby ropes. Once there, the rookie would plant his heel on the bottom cable before jumping up and forward, tumbling over "The Dream" to turn his backward-facing guillotine into a somersault sit-out cutter!

Cyrus struggled to keep his ground and force himself out of Salem's grip, but he was slowly pulled towards the ropes. The Dream was then suddenly struck by Salem's somersault cutter! Cyrus bounced off of Salem's shoulder after the impact and stumbled to the side a few paces before hitting the ground.

Salem simply sat there, sweaty and panting following the catastrophic cutter he'd just delivered to "The Dream". It was obvious that the match was starting to wear down both competitors, their clash having been going full-throttle since the opening bell. But no matter how tired he was, something about seeing the staggering form of his former mentor fall limp against the canvas brought the biggest smile to the young man's face.

There'd been times either man could've went for a quick finish, tried to use the adverse rules of "Watch Your Step" to get a quick, clean win...but that wasn't what Salem or Cyrus wanted. This blood feud between them, it had been a torturous ordeal that had mired the very hearts of both men - this couldn't be clean. This shouldn't be quick. Salem wanted his opponent to hurt, and with that in mind, he slowly got up to his feet, strutting proudly to further bring on the ire of the audience.

"You know, at first I thought they were the problem!" he shouted down at Cyrus, leaning over his lifeless frame. "Shilling out money to see has-beens like you!"

The M.W. Deuce would then go to kick Cyrus in the ribs, much as the veteran had done to him when the rookie was crawling to the ropes earlier in the match.

"Ahh!" Cyrus rolled over, clutching his side in pain after Salem's kick connected to the Dream's ribs. Though through his pain, Salem's words began to echo through his ears. Cyrus had fallen a long way from main eventing five years ago, to wrestling low card for the past year and now getting his a** kicked by his former student. Cyrus' dream had long been dead. The Dream pulled himself to a knee, the pain from his ribs lingering heavily.

The crowd gasped and booed at Salem's cheap shot at Cyrus' expense, the once-venerable veteran seemed so feeble and frail as he fumbled his way back to his feet, managing to reach a knee. Grabbing him by the hair, Salem snarled down, wrenching Cyrus' scalp with his fist. Leaning down, he got eye to eye with his rival, making sure he heard his next few words.

"...But then I realized, it's all your fault! You, who lie to these people and tell them they have heroes, when you aren't even here for them! You leave them, you left me, and yet they love you the same as always when you come back! Well, not anymore!"

Tossing Leone's head back, Salem attempted to decapitate "The Dream" by stepping up on his propped knee and snapping his spare leg to the side, looking to level him with a Shining Wizard!

Salem's words continued to consume The Dream's mind. He hadn't been there for his once beloved fans, he had disappeared more on them more than once. This was all true. But then, when the hell was anyone when Cyrus needed it? He had been ambushed by Salem for most of the year, his tag team partner deserted him, and his only supporter had been a ******** pizza guy. Someone who delivers bread sticks. No one had any interest if there was a Dream or not, these people didn't deserve a Dream.

Cyrus' thoughts was suddenly halted when Salem's kick connected across his face. His hands went to his face, covering it as pain filled it. The referee stepped in close to check if The Dream was bleeding. Cyrus slowly pulled himself to his feet, hands still over his face from the pain.
