Yup. This was all Rage's doing. He'd recognize his mentor's dulcet tones anywhere. West was mildly apprehensive about being locked in for the duration of this little party, but... well... he didn't exactly trust Rage, but he was confident the Trick-or-Treater had no desire to keep them all here as pets either.
He pondered Meixiang's words in silence, saved from responding at all when she headed off to get her backpack. It might have been nice to have brainier creatures around for when brains were needed, he supposed. Still, he had found that even when there was a big old brainy lock on something, there was usually a way to punch through it.
West trailed behind the group to take a bag for himself, rummaging through it and scribbling down an arbitrary name on Rage's disappearing paper. If anyone tried to take this thing away from him, they were going to get a pen in their ear.

As soon as he was done speaking, the floor vanished, dropping students down into a giant pool of water below; of course, not everyone suffered the same fate as several students managed to do something before they hit the water - some remembered that they had wings and stayed airborne, some ghosts remembered that they could pretty much float and hover over the water, and others came up with all sorts of ways to avoid falling in.
"Not bad. If you're still here, give yourself a round of applause! If you're no longer here, sucks to be you."

If you did not respond to the previous prompt yet - which is to place your bet - you have until the end of this round to do so. If you do not do so by the end of this round, I would assume that you placed a bet on yourself.
Time to take damage!
If you want to take a chance at allowing your student to avoid hitting the water (be it because they can fly or float or stick to the wall or any other reasonable thing you can come up with) please roll 1D10 and write the action down in BOLD; if the number you get is 6 or above, your student succeeded in not hitting the water! If not, DO NOT TAKE DAMAGE FROM THIS DICE and take it as your student didn't manage to react fast enough and hit the water like a ton of bricks. Yes, you can help another student, but... Why not let them fail instead?
Because I was asked: To help someone out, QUOTE them and do the 1D10 roll to determine if you fail or succeed. If you fail, both of you go crashing into the water - no exceptions. So although you wanted to help, you might actually be dragging someone down with you!
- If your student hits the water (which, by the way, is really painful): 3D10
- If your student can't swim/is weak against water: 4D10 + better cry and hope someone responds
- If your student successfully avoids the water: Whatever value you rolled for the 1D10 to avoid the water
Since someone asked, the reason why you still take damage is due to the strain of having to react quickly. Like... If you tripped and was about to fall, even if you reacted quickly enough to avoid falling on your head, you'll probably bruise your hand in the process. NOT THE BEST ANALOGY BUT I hope you get the idea. :'D
If you are still alive, you can then try snatching someone's backpack... If you want to. You can only do it once a round, although you can defend as many times as you need to.
To snatch someone's backpack:
1] QUOTE the person you are trying to snatch from.
2] Roll 1D10.
3] WAIT for the person to respond by rolling 1D10.
4] If your value is higher, you were successful. If not, your own backpack gets taken/dropped in the process and you are OUT!
NOTE: If the person does not respond to you by the next round, it means that nothing happened; they don't lose their backpack, and you don't lost yours.
What happens to backpacks once a student had dissipated?
The student then goes here. Their backpack is now free for all to take - the first student to QUOTE the last post of a dissipated student gets their backpack/the Fear candy inside if it is unused. If the Fear candy is used, the backpack is pretty much useless...

If there was one thing Hel hated (which was a lie, Hel hated a lot of things), it was falling. Falling sucked. It was a feeling of helplessness…too bad she didn’t have wings anymore.
“SCREW YOU, OLD MAN!” Hel cursed Rage as she fell, and oh so gracefully belly flopped into the pool of water below. Somehow…she didn’t take a lot of damage. Somehow… The ghoul resurfaced with a start, snarling, but luckily okay at treading water and swimming. “YOU WILL NEVER KNOCK THE COMPETITION OUT OF ME!” She screamed.

As soon as the floor dropped, instinct kicked in. Meixiang lept for the nearest wall. Pushing herself off that wall to scramble up and towards an adjacent wall. Agility and parkour were her thing. It was only then that she realized there wasn't anything to really grab on to. So she'd merely end up bouncing from wall to wall until her inevitable fall into the water.
They had made this place very abandoned and very scarce. Jerks. Lucky for her water wasn't that big of a deal unless it was super hot. She could swim well enough.
So she merely let herself slide down the wall, perhaps she slid a bit too fast cause once she plunged into the water it felt like she had hit a wall of bricks. When she resurfaced brown eyes were wide as she coughed up a bit of water.
"What...the jack..."

Roch had quick reflexes--even without thinking. When the floor started to disappear, he did too, shadowstepping straight up to one of the lights hanging from chains on the ceiling. Thankfully the bulb was dead, so it wasn't even hot.
He stepped on the large metal plate and looked down at the poor shmucks that had hit the water--
Then realized it was very possible that Danny was knocked out and his bet was wasted. "Jackdammit."

Zephyros glanced at the other students and his brows furrowed. HE then looked over at the two he was standing next too, Roch and Ren, and smiled slightly to himself. It was just a competition after all, nothing terribly serious. However he already knew who he'd bet for.
Letting out a small noise, he scribbled on the piece of paper. Once it disintegrated he bent down and poked at the bag. His eyes narrowed again.. and he slowly sniffed at it. Then he poked it once more. And finally decided it was safe enough to pick up. The voice had told them what was inside, but in Amityville you could never be too careful.
Once he's put the back pack on, following Roch's example, he looks around carefully at the others. Hoping that no one tried to snatch his...
Unfortunately before he could react the floor underneath all of them let out. His eyes widened and he looked down with a hiss at the water. It looked extremely painful.

Muka had been about to tell Suzu and Piper about how he wasn't very competitive at all when the floor went out from under them. He flapped his hands and attempted to grab both girls by the wrist. "Awwwck!" He screeched a distressing bird sound as Piper never quite grabbed one, and Suzu's grip had sent them both spralling downwards into the water!! CURRENT STATISTICS Name: Muka

The strix came down hard into the water and it didn't help that he'd most likely landed on both ghouls he'd been talking to. Once in the drink he had no choice but to clamp his wings tightly to his back and attempt to tread water. It was definitely difficult with the backpack and his shoes, but he managed to stay afloat. "Ghouls? Ah.. heh.." he giggle-sprayed water from his face. "You alright?" CURRENT STATISTICS Name: Muka

He was glad that they had all came to the agreement of sticking together, if only for more defense for himself. Smirking at Rosy he moved a clawed hand down to take hers, for the moment ignoring all previous comments on their relationship, considering he had offered his part and privacy was key to him in side area. Waiting for Rosy to take his hand, if she would, he tried to keep a closer eye on the others in the area. Judging by a few of their reactions it was easy to stop a few that would attempt a snatch.
"Jackin-!" He was promptly cut from his curse as he plummeted towards the water below, magic unable to help him given his poor response time. Smacking into the water he winced hard, teeth clenched and knees shaking considering he landed on his feet like a feline inclined. After a moment he spring back up from the water, calming floating and attempting to try and get out of the water. Glancing up to Rosy and Zel as both attempted to not splat he called up a teasing, to hide his pain, taunt, "flap harder" Smirking to Zel in particular he swam on, a part of him glad he hadn't seen Rosy fall along with him.

Rosy would have taken Spinar's had and he not suddenly dropped beside her. Red eyes going wide, she blinks a few times before she felt herself slipping as well. She completely forgot she knew how to float as she drops to the water rather quickly following Spinar.

Zel realized the floor was going out from under them. Flapping his wings as hard as he could, he tried to gain as much momentum as he could so he could get airborne and avoid falling flat into water. Unfortunately, even with his wings pumping at full tilt, he didn't have enough time - or distance to get enough lift, and so down he plummeted toward the water...

Zel had tried to right himself at the last moment as he tumbled out of the air and toward the water. But unfortunately, he didn't manage to tuck his wings in, in time and so with a LOUD smack he struck the waters wings and all.
Yeah - that was gonna hurt.
As he came up sputtering near Siku, and taking a look up he paddled away from the now descending Rosy. He tucked in his wings and started to tread water. "Yeah, well - I tried." he glared at the frost boil... tempted to dunk his head under the water and see how long it would take for him to drown.

Unfortunately he wasn't fast enough to rip his skull pin off to turn him into quetzalcoatl form. and thus he plummets head first into the water. He thanks Jack for the fact he used to swim back in his clan's home.
However it was still hella painful.

Rosy was mentally cursing herself for not reacting sooner. As she hit the water, her whole body shook from head to toe. Her body instantly crying out in pain as if she hit bricks instead of the water. Sinking under in only for a moment, she floats there as she shakes her head and sighs. At least he didn't have to worry about drowning.
Glancing up towards the other two, she swims up only to stop longer enough to pull on Zel's tail then pinch Spinar in the bottom. Breaking the top of the water, she sputters as she shakes her head then winces for a moment "How the jack do I not remember I could float. Seriously..." she felt like a complete idiot at the moment.
Just to make herself feel better, she floats a couple inches above the water now. Just to make sure she could, not that it would help at the moment. She was still hurting.CURRENT STATISTICSName: Rosy

The voice came back. Suzu wondered what the voice meant by taking out the competition. Suddenly, the answer was right in front of her. Too bad the floor wasn't. She felt her wrist being grabbed, but the group of students still ended up in the pool. Suzu landed under Muka but managed to find her way to the surface. "Yeah... I'm okay... Thanks for trying to save us back there." she said in a few hard breaths. "What about you and Piper? Can you float?" Suzu asked Muka, a bit concerned over his feathers.
