"And you are super incredibly amazing awesome and handsome, while we're stating the obvious~"
Oh look, that caffeine from the affogato was finally kicking in.
Stormy was brimming with excitement as they entered the theater, bouncing with glee while they waited to get their tickets, and insistent on dragging Gale around every nook of the theater A) to work off some of that sudden energy and B) to legitimately explore, as they had a little time to.
Look at all these movie posters.
"Cars got a spinoff?" she mused with a tilt of her head at the Airplanes ad before whisking her boyfriend away to actually get to their theater at last.
Still bouncing a little while doing so.
Determined to get prime seating, and thankful that the theater wasn't really hosting people that night, Stormy scooched them along to the center of one of the middle-lower rows, her eyes practically lighting up with happiness; or maybe that was just the screen reflecting off them. "There's a little bit of time left, if you wanted to get a snack or something," she told him, as though it was prime time to be considering this now instead of, well, back when she was pulling him around.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Gale teased, bumping her shoulder as they made their way into the theater. "Covered love, I see how it is. Just remember all of those lovely comments the next time you see me covered in dirt and mud and rubbish from fighting monsters."
He followed Stormy around the theater obediently, just as curious about all of the new movies coming out as she was, though marginally less physically excited about them, as Stormy was bouncing up and down. However, her enthusiasm was both adorable and infectious, and Gale found himself being swept along in the rush of it, slightly dazed by her dazzling brilliance.
"I think I'll get some biscuits while we're here," he told her, as they found their seats (or rather, as Stormy managed to weave her way through the aisles to find the prime location). "Be right back."
And, true to his word, he was back moments later with a small package of Oreos, one medium sized thing of popcorn, and two bottles of water.
"Cinema prices are bloody ridiculous, as usual," Gale muttered good-naturedly to Stormy as she slid into the seat beside her and handed over the popcorn. "We should have seen about sneaking our gelato in, though that might have been a bit messy, come to think of it," he added, giving her a wink, and settled down into his chair.

He would find her kicked back in the seat, her feet already resting on the chair in front of her in a comfortable stretch, although her arms had been waving him over in a somewhat flaily fashion (you know, in case he couldn't find her). "The more things change, you know?" she hummed, happy to take the popcorn and settling it in her lap. Oreos. Fffffff, she'dve kissed him if that hadn't been a line she was nervous about crossing except oh wait she wasn't thinking about kissing right now, she was thinking about how amazing Gale was by accommodating her this way and also enjoying some new Disney with him and also hey they were in London just in case she forgot.
There was a dry thought that it was miraculous she hadn't just caved to feelings by now, given how influential they were on her. And surprisingly, that didn't come from Thane.
"Thank youuuuu, insert correct term of endearment heeeeere~" Stormy cooed, leaning over to peck his cheek. Her water bottle was slid into the slot while the light was still available. "I'll pay you back if that makes you feel better? Although I don't know where we would have hidden the gelato . . . My purse is too tiny! And you would have stolen it before I finished," she accused playfully.

Gale was most decidedly not thinking about kissing because kissing was something he was very eager to do except now was neither the time nor the place, it needed to be special and it needed to be right and wait thinking about this meant he was thinking about kissing which he was definitely not thinking about right now.
The lights dimming above their heads, Gale leaned over, snagging a few pieces of popcorn from the tub. "No, don't pay me back," he said indignantly. "And if you do, I'll just give it back to you, so really there's no point."
Stormy would find an Oreo poking her cheek. "I'm pretty certain you were the one who stole my food first," Gale corrected, taking one for himself and promptly sticking it in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully. "You, on the other hand, are quite a sticky fingers, aren't you?"
It was dark now, dark enough that no one would see as he leaned over and kissed her cheek in return, his own face slightly warm, Gale sliding down in his seat to get more comfortable, his feet propped up just like Stormy's were.
"It's been too long since I saw the original movie," he murmured to her, as the first trailer began to play. "I hope I remember everything..."

"Sticky fingers? Moi?" Stormy tilted her head and gave him an innocent look which, in the twilight of the dimmed lights and bright screen, made her look like she was a thief wearing a little mask. One who attempted to snap up the Oreo that invaded her face and, sadly, missed. "I wasn't stealing, by the by; I was taste testing~" she added with a grin, stubborn to the end.
She probably ought to have quieted down at that point as the movie trailers were beginning, but she felt strangely emboldened by the rush of caffeine and excitement--a spike in their otherwise rather mellow date. Not that that was bad (it was quite the opposite, as the quiet moment in the garden had endeared her, awkwardness or not), but it was also nice to be able to express genuine fangirlism after not having a new Disney spark in a while and then, on top of that, being encouraged to continue. It gave her a strange high.
She leaned over the arms of their chairs, creeping into Gale's personal space until she was almost against his ear, the better to whisper into; she could feel more than she could see the pink on his face. "In that case, if I paid you back with a kiss, we'd both win, hmm?" Stormy suggested before promptly delivering said kiss to said ear and then quickly settling back down in her seat, popcorn jostled but otherwise safe still in the container.
The only way to know a boundary was to explore after all.
"Since this is a prequel," she chirped, as if nothing had happened, "it shouldn't matter too much if you don't remember the first movie. I'll point things out for you if you don't mind me whispering some more in your ear~"
Cue wink.

His face, which had already been quite warm, was now flushed a deep red, and Gale was grateful for the darkness that managed to at least conceal some of it, though perhaps not all of it. It wasn't like she hadn't kissed him before (at least not the real thing), but this was slightly different somehow, and although it made him just a tad more nervous, he wasn't about to object.
Besides, he liked having his boundaries pushed, little by little, until they both felt like they were at the place they wanted to be. Gale shifted in his seat, his ears pink, and turned to look at Stormy, eyebrows raised.
"I don't think I'd mind that at all," he said lightly, and kissed her temple, lingering there for a beat longer than he normally would, just to tease her, before settling back into his seat and eating another Oreo.
"Whisper away, Watson."

In a way she had been exploring (or allowing Gale to explore) from the beginning: a snow dog between strangers, a cup of hot cocoa between acquaintances, a bit of banter between friends on missions, tentative foreheads touching in the infirmary, handholding on the cruise, a kiss to the hand before they were dating, and since then to the shoulder, the forehead, the cheek, the nose, and now the ear.
But if Gale thought lingering was enough to tease her in this state, he had another thing coming. For as he pulled away to devour another Oreo, Stormy followed quickly after, this time quickly delivering a peck to his neck before darting back with a terribly impish look.
"Excellent~" she said with soft satisfaction before turning back to the trailer reel, feeding on the popcorn one at a time.
Most of them she glazed over; though the Frozen one gave her pause and a new burst of excitement; Gale received a few flaps of her hand to his arm. Then the animated short The Blue Umbrella began and she became engrossed with the music and rain effects, eyes wide and child-like.

Well.
Well now.
Well now, that was just totally rude and totally not playing fair at all, now was it.
One of Gale's hands reached between the seats, found Stormy's side, and poked, leaning over to press his forehead against the side of her head, his voice in her ear as he said, "You're ridiculous."
Then he poked her again and settled back down, flashing a grin at her as he stole a few kernels of popcorn from the tub before eating another cookie. The first few trailers went by, Stormy practically leaping out of her seat in excitement, and Gale grabbed her hand and shook his head with amusement, grinning.
Really, though, it was unfair because she was way too cute.

She pressed a hand to her mouth to stifle her giggling, half from his reaction and half because Gale's breath tickled her ear. "Magical," she corrected him in a whisper. "And chaotic. And silly. And affectionate~" And thoroughly amused, for she wondered how much her charm could win her if she really tried.
But most of all, very unfair and quite selfish.
Stormy's hand slid out of his for a few moments to steal several Oreos, sat them in the cupholder away from Gale (to discourage further stealing), and then took his hand back just as the short finished and the actual movie began.
Cue more starry-eyed girlfriend moments and slow but steady popcorn eating as she became drawn into the world of really nice animation. Man, when was the last time she had gotten to see such pretty detail...

"That too," Gale whispered, and poked his nose against her cheek.
It was such a contrast from Deus that it was almost unreal. Though both places were filled with fog and shadows, London was alive and awake at night, filled with lights and sounds and voices and the cacophony of everything colliding together. The air was thick with life, whereas on Deus it was stiff and tense and each day could be one's last.
Well, thought Gale, as he looked sideways at Stormy, her face rapt with attention, her eyes glittering with happiness. If this is my last day, then I think I would be okay with it.
...except not really, because I'd want to spend many more days like this. One day isn't nearly enough.
Afterwards, when the lights were beginning to grow bright again, he said, "So what did you think? Was it as good as you expected?"

Though she had teased him about whispering throughout the movie, Stormy was quite quiet through the feature. Aside from mumbling things to herself barely audible above the movie, she was still and enraptured and clearly delighted by the time the movie finished. She didn't answer for a moment, watching the photos in the credits of how Mike and Sulley had ascended to their ranks for Monsters Inc.
"I had no expectations," she told Gale truthfully, finally peeling her eyes from the screen, a slight flush to her cheeks from pleasure. "But it was creative and beautiful and wonderful. " Was it the best? No. But it was made all the better because she was sharing it with someone who didn't mind that she had freaked like a little girl over it, who took her oddness in stride and remained stable and dependable despite what she was feeling or going through.
"What about you, was it tolerable?" Taking the half empty box of popcorn, she stood and began to stretch. "Oh, and what time is it? Should we be getting back? I don't think anything else will be open at this time of night..."

The flush was very Stormy-ish. Gale pushed himself to his feet and brushed a few stray crumbs from his lap, absently chewing on some popcorn still. "Well, then, I'd say it was a success," he said, holding out his hand to pull her along the aisle and back towards the entrance. "I thought it was pretty creative myself. Very entertaining and very silly, and very fun."
Once in the lobby, he tossed the last bit of popcorn and the empty box away before slipping his fingers through Stormy's once more, stepping out into the main road.
"It's..." Gale glanced at his watch. "A quarter after eleven, so we should probably get back. Shall we head back to the portal, then, and I can walk you back to your room."

In clearing her area, Stormy noticed she had t touched the two Oreos she had stolen prior and slipped them into her purse before taking Gale's hand. "I suppose you should," she said with a lamenting smile. "But let's walk slow, then." Because as much as he had filled the evening with things to do, time had moved too quickly; she didn't want it to end.
The evening had cooled a little more, which gave her the proper excuse to be all but huddling against Gale as they walked, having entwined their arms after a short while; her dress was airy and made of light material, making it a little too easy to cool off, even in the summer. "I wish we had more days off," Stormy commented, leaning her head against his shoulder. "Not like a week or anything, but, you know...more than just a day or two. Just so a proper vacation can be made."

"Slow works for me," said Gale agreeably, smiling down at Stormy as they exited the theater.
A block down and she was leaning against him, her head on his shoulder, her arm wrapped around his. Gale put a hand over her arm and felt a few more stray drops of rain trickle onto his face, though it might have just been the mist. "Would be nice, wouldn't it?" he said, crossing another street towards the next. "Just have some time to ourselves, you and me, doing nothing but walking around doing whatever we wanted without having to worry about anything at all..."
He sighed a little as the streets around them became less compacted with people, the crowds thinning out considerably the closer they got to the portal rendez-vous point.
"If you could have one day to do anything you wanted," said Gale thoughtfully. "What would it be?"

"I guess that's what the short leaves are for..." She could feel the mist condensing on her bare arms and neck and sought to wipe them down with her free hand. "But then again, that's the price for doing what we do. Phenomenal cosmic power, iiiitty bitty living space," she quoted with a little smile.
The question gave her pause, for as much as her mind wandered, Stormy didn't think of things like that for herself. She alternated between silence and soft hums in thought, finding herself growing embarrassed when she still didn't have an answer a minute later. "I guess I would spend the whole day trying to figure out what I would do to spend the whole day," she replied with a soft laugh. "There's too much I would want to do, I wouldn't know where to start! What about you?" She turned her head slightly to view him. "What would you do?"
