Aiza was beginning to be worried when Shinju was late. I wonder if she's going to stand me up... Its understandable that she'd be busy. She was saddened until she finally saw the Etoile appear. She smiled at her kindly as she felt her hand on her shoulder. "It's alright. I understand. Thank you for making time for me." she nodded and sat down beside her. Looking down at the box in her lap Aiza suddenly remembered she was supposed to give Shinju-sama the candy she got for her. Aiza handed the box over, bowing her head slightly, "ummm here. I got these for you, I hope you enjoy them."
She lifted her head as she just watched and took in the figurehead of the school. She had to carry so many responsibilities on her delicate looking shoulders. Aiza smiled as she remembered the first time she saw Shinju-sama. It was the first day of school when she was a freshmen. Shinju-sama was beautiful then too. Aiza came back to the present as she waited to hear her speak.

Shinju looked down curiously to the box presented to her. "Oh, you didn't have to," she said respectively, but took the box nonetheless. Slipping off the cover, her eyes twinkled in delight. "My goodness, the school's truffles!" She gasped. "I-I love these. I've been so busy lately, I haven't had a chance to enjoy anything I adore. Thank you." The Etoile plucked a dark chocolate delight from the box and popped in her mouth. She chewed with an expression of complete ecstasy. Shinju was about to go for another when she realized her manners and turned the box back to Aiza. "Please, have one too," she requested. "I'd enjoy them more if we both ate."
After snacking to her heart's content, the Etoile smiled, and finally got to her main business with the sophomore. "I know you're probably wondering why I asked for your company specifically today," she began, crossing her legs and clasping her hands together on her lap. Her tone was casual, but rather strict, like a mentor evaluating a student's progress. "Well, as you probably heard earlier, Spica's president is restless with complaints about the school festival. It is rather early, but her frustrations are justified. As always, it is the annual play and this year we're doing La Sylphide. Well, it is less a play and more a ballet. The extra time is to give any girls without any formal ballet backgrounds to practice." Shinju sighed. "Of course, this year, I play the sylph, so I have the most dancing roles. That's the least of my concerns though. The president would like to include a song in the ballet since she believed just girls pirouetting on stage wouldn't be as entertaining. Miator disagreed with her and they fought, but Lulim solved the problem by agreeing with her, making the choice unanimous. They left the song to me, but I haven't any ideas or creative ability, aha. That's where I need you, Mudo-san. Can you help me write a song for the ballet? I'd really appreciate your help."

Aiza's heart warmed at the sight of the Etoile so happy and took a small chocolate and placed it in her mouth. She suddenly realized she hasn't seen her look that happy in a while but the poet was increasingly glad that she helped her find that happiness, no matter how temporary. Aiza listened and concentrated on everything the upperclassman had to say. Her heart dropped and her face faltered for a second when she heard it really was just business. Aiza's heart began to hurt a little, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up... they're always crushed anyway. "Sure. I can help. What kind of song did you have in mind?" the normal perkiness in her voice was gone but she knew Shinju wouldn't notice. They haven't talked that much. Then a thought hit her, "Etoile-sama, you could've picked anyone. Why me?" That confused Aiza a bit. She was a nobody, why her?

Shinju clutched her chin between forefinger and thumb and thought for a moment. "Well, it has to be a love ballad. It's what the sylph sings about James before she kisses him. Anything romantic works, but it has to be tied to the scene. Ah-" Shinju harrumphed. "I should've brought a script with me. I'll bring one next time we meet."
Shinju blinked to Aiza's next question, but then smiled. "Well, that's obvious," she answered. "Because Umiko chose you." She added, referring back to the time when the second Mizushima lied to her sister about Aiza. "Umi's next in line to be the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. After the current one graduates, of course. She needs to have good judgement for the title -- especially for potential journalists -- and, knowing my sister, she isn't impressed by drab, sloppy writing. That could only mean you're a great writer, Mudo-san. I've only to be impressed if Umi wanted an interview with you." Shinju chuckled next. "Besides, how could I give up the opportunity to work with such a cute sophomore, hmm~? Don't be nervous simply because I am the Etoile. It's just a title."

"Hmmm" Aiza thought about how the ballad skeleton should be, "I can do that" she smiled at Shinju, her head tilting to the side and her hair moving with her so I slightly touches her face. Her heat beats a little faster when her sempai says 'next time', "oh, yeah it would be much easier with the script. What do you want it to say personally though? I think it would give it more feeling if you put yourself in it." Aiza gulped, "If you have any romantic feelings for someone we could put some of that in the ballad. We don't have to do that now but just keep that in mind." Smiling kindly Aiza moves the hair back behind her ear.
"Oh. Yeah she told me about that. She's very dedicated" Aiza said as she thought back on Umiko, she's not that bad, I mean, she did help me to be able to hang out with Shinju-sama like this. Aiza's face blushed a bright cherry red, "I-I-I'm not cute! I'm just average, like everyone else..." Aiza lowers her head and tries to hide her face, "a title that has about ninety percent of the student population throwing themselves at you and the other ten percent just being envious" she twiddled her thumbs on her lap nervously.

"My feelings?" Shinju thought for a moment. She'd never actually had feelings of love for someone before, so she tried to use Kotomi as a guide. Despite her easy disposition to hold grudges, she was a sweet girl. Well, only when she wasn't lobbing a stool one-handed at another out of jealousy and spite. The Etoile's mind drifted back to the time she confessed to Shinju again and slapped her come her rejection; the look on her face could shake Eros to his knees. "I guess . . . A feeling of longing? A desire to have the person you love so dearly, but an inability to act on such feelings because you worry . . . You worry for how that person might view you -- especially if it is not as a lover, but only as a sibling or a friend. Or, maybe even bestial and horrid; a person you never thought was capable of love. Unrequited love. Maybe something like that."
Shinju chuckled next. "Very true." Of course she didn't expect Mudo-san to understand. Very little people did, but she could only accept their opinion on the brighter side of being the Etoile. She reached a hand out and smooth a stray lock behind Aiza's ear, smiling gently. "But being the Etoile really wasn't something I wanted," Shinju admitted. "It was an obligatory exchange from sister to sister. My popularity grew when Nagisa graduated. The schools wanted me to have the title and I could only agree simply to suit them. Yes, being the Etoile has its perks like being the figurehead of the three schools' student body and eternal love from most, but its freedoms are few and far between. Just as I can do, I can't . . . It's tiring. As for Kotomi, well, she agreed because-" Suddenly, an epiphany hit the junior. She had always thought her friend agreed simply to go with the flow, but after hearing the girl's feelings twice, she realized how wrong, and selfish, she was being. Blushing a bit, Shinju sighed. "Because that girl views me as something other than a friend and I- I can't accept her opinion of me because to me, she was only always my friend. It hurts -- unrequited love, that is."
Shinju closed her eyes and sighed, but suddenly snapped them open again. "I- Oh, many apologizes," she said, bowing her head. "I'm just rambling. I didn't mean to. I just guess it is easier to ramble to a pair of ears that's willing to listen, aha . . ."

Aiza simply sat and listened. She knew she didn't need to talk right now. No longer really thinking about the ballad, just trying to be there for her companion. The young girl blushed and smiled at the unexpected touch but it wasn't unwelcome at all. Her face changed from smiling to understanding to anything to show that she was listening and really cared because she did.
Aiza smiled kindly, almost motherly once more, "It's fine. It's just something else I'm good at. I would like to offer a little advice. You can't blame yourself ok? You can't force yourself to love someone. If it's forced it'll never work out." she paused here to gather her thoughts and smiled as she took Shinju's hand and surrounded it with both of her own, "Love in itself is tricky. It's easy but it can also be difficult. You know when it happens because you'll feel it, it'll consume you but that's only a bad thing if you fight it. Not only will you feel it but so will the one you're in love with. What I'm trying to say is it's not your fault. One day both you and Kotomi-sempai will have your own loves and look back on these days and smile, maybe even laugh." Aiza blushed a bit, "I hope that helped"

Shinju smiled, glancing to her hand cupped in Aiza's. The warmth her tan palms permeated melded in unison with the Etoile's, providing her a comfort she hasn't felt in a long while. The blush on her cheeks never once faded. Shinju held a loving glance with the sophomore for a moment until she caught herself and gently slid her hand free.
"Thank you for your kindness, Mudo-san," Shinju said, smiling. "I too hope you find love. It will be an tumultuous journey of ups and downs, but I hope you are successful as well. Oh, and if you could, please don't mention anything I said to anyone. Well, Umi knows, but she won't say a word. Please, not even to Kotomi." Shinju feared what the junior would do to her if she found out about her spilling a good bit of info on their private problem to only an acquaintance. "Speaking of Kotomi, would you like to meet her? She will be playing James in the ballet and it'd be best if we also got her approval for the song as its worked on."

The heart in her chest began to calm down as she retracted her hands back into her own lap almost shyly. "It was my pleasure Mizushima-sama" Aiza said while bowing her head slightly. I already have, she thought to herself and instead said, "Thank you, I can only hope she will love me back. Of course I won't. It's not my story to tell. This conversation will remain just between us."
Aiza gulped a little. She had heard rumors of the raging Kotomi-sempai with a very short fuse but they had to be just that, rumors... right? I-if she ever found out about me loving Shinju-sama as well, she'd eat me alive! I can't be rude to their generosity though. I'm sure that Etoile-sama won't let that happen. "Sure, I'd love too. It'd help to make the ballad more rounded as well."

Shinju beckoned Aiza along as she rose to standing. Their travel to find Kotomi was incredibly short; the junior only hung around one location after classes were over and that was the private greenhouse of the two Etoiles. Reaching into her cardigan's pocket, the older Etoile retrieved the key for the door and unlocked it. In the glass structure that housed all the flowers for school festivals, it was incredibly humid with a lingering sweet smell in the air. Shinju pushed her tumbled locks behind her shoulder to prevent her neck from sweating as she entered.
"Kotomi!" She called, hoping to draw the pig-tailed girl out. "Kotomi, are you in here?"
Behind a bush of rosa gigantea, Kotomi peeked, and a tender smile spread upon her lips. "Mizushima," she muttered to herself. Rarely did Shinju seek her out when she was in her favorite spot after classes. Maybe she had come to return her feelings? The bearer of the red necklace trotted up to Shinju, her hands laced behind her back. "What brings you here, Mizushima? Is there something you have to tell me?" Her heart fluttered. She hoped it was a yes.
Shinju was taken aback by Kotomi's tone. Before, she had slapped her across the face and bellowed at her because of a newspaper in jealousy. Now she was sweeter than honeyed milk. Why? The Etoile cleared her throat. "Yes, Kotomi, I'm here because of the ballet," The other girl's smiled faded a bit. "I wanted to talk to you about it. With Mudo-san." Shinju moved aside to present the sophomore. "I chose her to write the ballad with me."
"Oh." Kotomi's voice was devoid of all charm. "What does that have to do with me? Just write the song."
"No, you see, I want your approval too, since you play the main character . . . "
"Hmmph, fine, come in. I'll talk."

The girl felt like she was walking to her death and every step increased the fear and nervousness in her chest. When they had finally reached the greenhouse Aiza was amazed at all the flowers and the wonderful scents they had. They were all very beautiful and the room was warm and a bit moist. She gazed around in wonder and awe almost forgetting who she was with, This place is so amazing, I have to write a poem about this place. When Kotomi had appeared, however, she had tried to shy her way behind Shinju but failed. Not wanting to be rude she bowed quickly, "It's a pleasure to meet you Kotomi-sempai." Sighing softly under her breath she gave Kotomi a warm smile, "Well, as you know, the ballad is a love song and to make it more personal and in depth I wanted to ask you about your views on love and how you would like it portray on stage." Aiza spoke softly. She suddenly didn't feel very welcome there anymore. The almost cold tone making the hair on the back of her neck stand up. Aiza was even avoiding making eye contact with the older girl in front of her.

[[ I realized I am doing a lot of action recently, haha. If you'd like some input or want to do something specific, let me know! I want to include Aiza in much more scenes then just for reaction~ If you want to double up and play more characters, feel free to. The more, the merrier since, again, I realized I am playing 3-4 extra characters. rofl ; ]]
Kotomi's eyes crinkled near the edges at the simple question. "How to do I view love?" She said, bowing her head. Her eyes were shadowed out beneath her bangs and her mouth was a tight, strained line as she gritted her teeth. Her fists were balls so hard, they were trembling. "How do I view love? Like a knife. A knife that's been stabbed through my heart and twisted until all I feel in a dull, cold sting. That is love to me."
Shinju blanched. "K-Kotomi!" She cried with anger. "That's not the way the Etoile should talk-!"
"I don't care!" Tears were streaming down the junior's face. "I don't care . . . Just why? I told you . . . my feelings . . . And you chose her? M-Mizushima, it's not fair . . . Not fair!"
Shinju looked to Aiza. "Mu-Mudo-san," she began. "Please, can you leave us for a mo-"
Kotomi sped up to Shinju and embraced her in an almost tackling hug. The Etoile took a step back under the pig-tails girl's weight as her arms locked under her's and around her back. Her shoulders trembled as she cried into the brunette's bosom, unable to contain herself anymore. The moment caused Shinju to fall silent, but resilient against Kotomi's obviously false tears. She's tried the tactic before and it worked then. Not this time.
"Please, Kotomi, get off me," she commanded. When the violet-eyed girl didn't budge, she made a push at her. "Kotomi. Please. Mudo-san is watching."
The last bit drove Kotomi wild. Suddenly, her grip broke from Shinju's middle and clamped onto her head. She tugged the taller girl's head down and forced her lips to Shinju's. The brunette could only gasp with a muffled, "Mmmph!" as the track star held her for a single, daunting moment. Finally breaking, Kotomi blared at Aiza.
"She's mine," the girl roared offensively. "If you dare try to get close to Shinju, you won't ever see the light of day again!"
Shinju wouldn't allow Kotomi's empty threats. At once, she slapped the girl swiftly across the face. The violet-eyed girl tumbled back, clutching where she was hit with tears dripping off her chin. "First and foremost," she began. "Don't ever talk to Mudo-san like that again. Secondly, I am not yours. I belong to myself and myself only. Third, your behavior is unruly for a girl in the position as the Etoile. I will ask one of the sisters to prepare a reasonable punishment for your actions. And, as I will say as I did before, I'm sorry, Kotomi, I cannot accept your feelings. Goodbye." And Shinju turned on her heel, clasping a hand on Aiza's shoulder to lead her out the greenhouse.
"I'm sorry you had to see that," Shinju apologized, wiping her mouth on her cardigan. "I don't know what's gotten into her. I really don't, but- I'm sorry. I'm terribly, terribly sorry."

((Sure, I can try to add maybe 1 more. I just know it would take a lot of thinking power. Also I'm sorry about the shorter than usual posts today, just been distracted with personal stuff. Sorry this post took so long. My internet connection is giving me all kinds of hell right now crying )) Aiza backed away in fear. She'd never seen anyone act that way before. If she was a professional Aiza would've diagnosed the girl as mentally ill. Never has she seen anyone switch emotions that way. Her blood ran cold at the threat and she trembled almost near tears. Letting her head lower a bit she let Shinju guide her away from the girl. It was strange to her that as soon as Mizushima-san put her hand on her shoulder she felt safer, protected. "It's alright, I can see how my question may have agitated her. I hope she'll be alright." Stopping to turn and face her upperclassman Aiza opened her mouth and began to speak, "I should probably head back to the dorm and get some rest. You should too, it's been a very long night. You know how to contact me and I always have free time so whenever you want to work on the ballad just let me know. Goodnight Etoile-sama." she bowed and began to walk towards her dorm. Aiza had decided she would visit a friend she hadn't seen in a very long time. Shinto Kira-chan.Aiza made it back to her dorm and sighed heavily as she removed her clothing and put on her pajama's. After grabbing her pillow and putting on a necklace with a little silver key attached, Aiza exited her bedroom and searched for the dorm number she was looking for, 402. She had to travel up 2 flights of stairs but she finally made it and unlocked the door. She slipped in as quietly as she could and locked the door back. The young artist made her way, through the darkness, to the bottom bunk and slipped in with the body already there, cuddling closely to her. A husky, drowsy voice whispered, "want to talk about it?" to which Aiza replied, "not really..." Strong arms wrapped around her as a yawn erupted from the other girl, "alright, see you in the morning" and that's all that was said before the gentle snoring of the two girls took the place of the conversation.

[[ That's no problem. Sucks about your internet connection. I hope it gets better! D: ]]
"Of course, Aiza," she said with a nod. "Thank you for your reassurance, but, I think I can handle her. Unlike me, she's hurting. She's hurting . . . Um, tomorrow's good. Meet me in the Spica's longue again, please. Thanks again, Mudo-san, and good night."
Umiko was in her dorm room, waiting patiently. Shinju blinked in confusion upon seeing her come her entrance. "H-How did you get in?" She asked. "I actually locked it before I left . . . "
Umiko dangled the key off her index finger in Shinju's direction. "You're terrible at hiding things, Shin. Seriously, in you're school bag? That was an easy find."
Shinju huffed in exasperation and slipped off her cardigan. "Whatever it is you want, Umi, just leave it for tomorrow or something . . . Not today."
Umiko face flashed an expression of concern. "What happened, Shinju?"
Shinju's face fell as she blushed. "S-She kissed me . . . " Was all the older Mizushima muttered. Her fingers reflexively touched her own lips upon saying this. "In the greenhouse . . . She kissed me, Umi . . . "
"M-My goodness," Umiko gasped. Unfortunately, the redhead confused Kotomi with Aiza, and her opinion immediately shifted about the sophomore. "Who knew she was so aggressive . . . Especially after just a single date . . . " Fuming a bit, she parted from Shinju. "I, um, I'm head to bed. See you later, Shinju. We can talk more later, all right? Sorry for breaking and entering, aha."
"It's all right," Shinju smiled with a bit of sadness. "See you tomorrow."
Umiko departed. The next day, she was stomping about Astraea Hill looking for Aiza Mudo. She had to give the sophomore a piece of her mind.

The first thing Aiza noticed when she woke up was how warm she was. The second was the strong arms around her and third the slow even breaths tickling the back of her neck. Aiza closed her eyes and sighed happily remembering years ago when her and Kira used to have sleepovers all the time and she always found herself in the older girl's embrace, she's still just a big baby.
Kira and Aiza had been close friends, ever since Kira was ten and Aiza was eight. It started when Aiza, her mother and grandpa moved into their current neighborhood. Kira ran over to her house demanding them to be friends and Aiza being who she is smiled and obliged. They have been friends ever since. Kira being their protector and wall, Aiza the support that kept them both standing.
Aiza moved and tried to pull away but was stopped as the muscular arms wrapped tighter around her, "Ki-chan I need to get up, this is school remember?"
The same husky voice spoke up as she buried her face further into Aiza's brown locks, "Don't remind me, I have a quiz today."
"Well then you better hurry and get up too. Come on Kiki" she cooed at the girl and the arms relaxed a bit so she could escape and sat on the edge of the bed. Aiza raised her arms over her head and stretched.
"You know I don't like being called Kiki", the other girl grumbled, as she pulled the blanket up to her cheeks. "Hey, want to talk about what happened last night? I take it it had something to do with Etoile-san" Kira did always know how to cut to the chase.
Aiza sighed as she told Kira about her entire night with the Etoile's except for the part where Shinju opened up to her, that would stay with her to her grave. She made a promise. "Well if you ask me, I think you just need to give her some time and space. It seems like she has a lot to think through. Don't worry, she'll fall for your charm, seems to me like she already has."
The sophomore hugged her friend tightly, "Thank you but I really must be going. you need to get up too." she said grabbing her pillow. She leaned over and kissed the senior's forehead, "be good". "Sure Whatever Ai-chan" she said through a smirk. Aiza had left and was making her way through the halls until she reached her room. She entered and immediately began getting ready for her day.
