Valhalla stared at the young woman in bewilderment for a few moments as she held out her hands, before offering her the cape and helmet with a small laugh. “Fashion, huh? I’m studying math and architecture,” he shared, taking a few moments to tug the jersey over his head.
“Really?” he couldn’t help but blink in surprise to the revelation that he was the first she’d actually spoken to in person. Not that there was anything wrong with that! He was just... surprised. “I, uh... well, if you have any questions about... all this, I wouldn’t mind trying to explain things?” he offered with a smile.
Golden eyes raised up to where Niflhel was standing. “Thanks for the invite,” he said with a nod, watching as the knight of Saturn looked over his partner in such a way that even Valhalla felt self-conscious. He did smile though, when he was suggested for her to learn from, hoping the grimace of being called a nickname by someone he’d barely ever spoken to was masked well enough. “I’ll certainly do whatever I can to help,” he reassured the both of them.

When a girl that seemed younger than her came over, Meru returned the smile that she gave. Despite her appearance, Meru could sense that they were of a higher rank than her. "It's nice to meet you, Pharos," Meru responded while she held out her hand for a shake.
"I'm Meru. I'm still rather new to all of this and thought it would be a good idea for me to come out of work and meet more people like me." It was a bit disheartening to admit, but she did want to try and her best, and well, prove that she had been selected for a good reason.
Even though she didn't really understand why she was chosen still.
Meru on one hand had been excited to meet someone like her, she had to admit she was more excited for the activity. It was a kind of scared-excitement building up inside of her. She hoped that whoever she ended up with would know at least a little bit of what was happening.
"Good luck to you in whatever we're doing, Pharos!" She said with a laugh. Meru knew she sounded like a total newb.((Sorry guys! I've been kinda bad with RP recently >.

Themiscyra could only smile all the more to see Valhalla's expression. Was it the fact she was honest about what she did outside the costume? Or manners? Or the fact she put value into magical apparel? Either way, she took the cape and helmet without much comment till her nose wrinkled in a grinning wince. "Architecture I can respect in design and function. I'll say you've got guts for math though." Hm. So sharing some pieces of who they were seemed to be acceptable. Good to know, in retrospect.
There wasn't much time for her to really focus on her original intent to investigate the structure and designs of at least the headpiece--call her obsessive, but some little part of her still half expected to spot lines from a plastic mold on some of this stuff. The young woman could only give another shrug, more than accepting of her 'greener than spring grass' status. He asked, she answered. Not to say there wasn't a bit of a relief on her end to see he wasn't against being teamed with a newbie. "It's why I couldn't miss coming here. Figured it'd be the best way to start learning and just jump in. Least I assume I can't screw up too badly here, worse case." Unless youma were somehow involved, then she might be eating her words. Handing his things back towards him once the jersey seemed situated, the Mars Page's lips pursed and twitched to the side.
"You might just regret that offer. I've got a zillion..." The least of all being if she should be viewing the separation of knights into planet groups with any form of importance or not. "I'll try to not make things into rounds of Twenty Questions, promise."
Niflhel, Nephilim... while not remotely the same difference, she at least could figure how she confused the two. The tip of her tongue caught between her teeth, a childish rebuke to the Saturn Knight's unamused expression. The guy was going to start graying before his time if he took things too seriously. She simmered down a little, taking the time to note where gestures were made, and whom spoke to whom. Least her question had been an apparently valid one. Didn't they get hot under all those heavy layers? Were they difficult to move in? Ah questions.
A dark brow rose curiously to the Knight's quick inspection, a small smile playing on her lips and body lax. Should she be nervous to have people putting a face to a place-name? Put more thought into the look? Deciding not to, on both counts, the thoughts rolled off her with a bright grin. Mouthing 'Val' questioningly towards Valhalla, there was no denying her amusement at the nickname. "I'm sure I'll learn a thing or two by the end of the games." Her teammate got a playful elbow nudge to the arm before she added towards Niflhel, "Thanks for the opportunity."

Niflhel lofted a brow at Valhalla apparently the nickname didn't settle well with the knight. Making a mental note before nodding, "Good to hear, I know you're more than capable, Valhalla." Honestly, Niflhel didn't mind saying the knight's full name it's just some of them got to be a mouthful, like Themi's.
He gave a small chuckle, but that was about the stint of his jovialness that was shown. Niflhel was really just trying to pull off a presence of knowing what he was doing and having control over the place -- which just ended up making him look serious faced. He ruffled the page's hair for some reason she kind of reminded him of well him when he was younger, "I'm more than happy to provide the opportunity Themiscyra, it's not every day we have the ability to get far enough away from the negaverse to do something like this."
"I can't tell you how much planning and string pulling went into getting the approval to use this place. They think we're filming a movie." He added though doubting that anything would ever come of needing that alibi. It was far enough out in the country that no one really cared about what was going on in Destiny city.

"Yup. And jersey colours that don't quite clash with what we already have on to boot." Dallol couldn't agree less with what Falias had pointed out with regards to their team, already grinning from ear to ear as she held up her own jersey then gestured to each of their fukus in turn. Apparently this was how Niflhel intended to set them up so that they could get to know one another better during the course of working together. She definitely could work with that.
Tossing her own jersey over her shoulder, she offered her hand to Falias, her head tiltted to the side as she introduced herself anew then followed up with a question of her own. "Dallol, Page of Uranus. So how long have you been in this already?"

It seemed as if most of the others had already found their partners. Palatine was in the process of doing the same, but as she looked around the group of pages, squires, and knights, she didn't see another person sporting the color and emblem of the Reg Jaguar.
Well, crap.
She knew her name had been called out attached to someone else. Cell... Kell... something. There was a 'wig' in there somewhere, she was sure.
Whatever it was, Palatine was having a hard time finding him or her, and as she didn't feel like shouting over top of everyone to try and get her illusive partner's attention, she figured the next best thing was to find one of the event organizers and see what they had to say about her little predicament. She switched her search to look for the young man who'd called out their names earlier, and saw him over by Valhalla.
Palatine spared another brief suspicious look at the Jupiter knight in question before approaching her target.
“I don't mean to interrupt, but...” she said, “It doesn't look like my partner's here yet.”

Niflhel paused when he was approached, looking at Palatine when she said her partner wasn't there yet. He frowned as he looked around the room. Nope it looked like everyone else had partnered up rather successfully.
"That is a bit troublesome, I hope she's okay." There were a few thoughtful moments before he looked around, "HEY Buyan. I need a favor." He called to a blonde Neptune page that'd been hanging around the back and just helping with this or that. She hadn't really been a part of anything just wanting to help out and not get in the way.Buyan looked up startled when she was shouted at from across the room. She'd been just happily refilling things and watching the kids do their thing. After all previously being a teacher she wanted to see how these things went. When she scurried up to Niflhel she looked at Palatine and then back to the knight in charge, "Yes?" She asked beaming a bit happy to help however she can."I hate to pull you away from refreshments but can you be Palatine's partner until her's shows up? I believe we have someone running a little late. It wouldn't be fair to just disqualify them since this is about team work and not fully about the competition." He added as he gave one final glance through the crowd. "It'd just be until she arrived."Buyan nodded, "Certainly, I'd be happy to help. I figured you might need an extra hand so it's a good thing I came." She smiled at Palatine, "I'm Buyan of Neptune, it's nice to meet you." She paused, "Ah yes I need a Jersey then." She moved quickly to grab the left over Red Jaguar jersey."I know this isn't Ideal, but I hope it's an okay solution until we can find Celliwig" Niflhel said with a questioning look towards Palatine.

So he was a little on the late side.. He didn't really mean to be late or anything. But dragging Corey away from his beloved arcade during the summer time (busy season!) was like pulling teeth.
But how could he possibly pass up on something like this? A chance to meet and hang out with looooots of other knights and make new friends wrapped up in the fun nostalgia of his childhood. No way, no how he could miss it. Especially since he knew the person running it, even if only vaguely from back in the day.
So he'd immediately sent back an RSVP to the invitation full of giant smiley faces and HELL YES's on a napkin and he'd spent days preparing his staff for days of his absence. Someone watching him fret and worry so much about the arcade as if it were a living breathing baby or pet might have laughed. Well except his employees who seemed stressed beyond word with all the worry that Corey had been shoving down their throat. Plus quickly scribbled lists of dos and don'ts. And what you should do if this happens. Or that. Or even this. He even included a 'What you should do if an apocolyptic zombie outbreak happens" because you know.. you could never be TOO careful. Especially not when it came to his precious 'baby'.
So with many threats to call often, he'd finally headed out and doned his very sparkle-rific Cosmic robes. As it was he arrived just in time to hear the announcements of the teams. Maybe people would have been too busy paying attention to the announcements to notice him at the door.
Pink Butterflies huh? Any self loving man should have shuddered at such a.. dainty and girly team totem. But then Bimini was a man-child. And had already been wearing sparkles and pastel rainbows long enough to have grown a very thick skin in regards to his manlihood.
Plus butterflies floated right? And he was like.. the fountain of youth.. which was like water which you floated on and stuff righttttt? It was like epic destiny, he was pretty sure. And as such he quickly began to search for his soon to be partner (god bless him). Celsus was it?
He probably didn't even notice the fact that as he searched around the room he was singing a very familiar song low on his breath. A song that had been imprinted on his brain forever and ever by the DDR machine near the ticket counter.
I've been searching for a man, All across Japan. Just to find, to find my samurai. Someone who is strong, But still a little shy, Yes, I need, I need my samurai.
Ai yai I yai, I'm your little butterfly, Green, black and blue Make the colors in the sky((I'm sorry Kuro!!! Bimini seems particularly crackhappy today. OTL ))

If she were to be honest, Palatine would admit she didn't really care who her partner was so long as she got to participate and hopefully kick a**.
Well, she might have minded if she'd been paired up with Sessrumnir, but she could have gotten over it in the end. All she had to do was ignore him.
She looked over the page Niflhel had called over and was relieved to see that her temporary partner was a woman rather than a child—close to her age, perhaps, though she couldn't tell anything exact. Definitely grown, though, and that was what mattered. She could handle adults better than she could handle kids. Being paired off with some random teenager probably would have been a little tedious; she didn't expect them to understand much about this event given that they wouldn't have been born when it first aired.
“Palatine, Venus,” she briefly introduced herself. As relieved as she might have felt, she didn't really show it and kept her bland expression, with only a tiny smile in greeting. “Nice to meet you, too.”
To Niflhel she gave a grateful nod and said, “Thanks.”

"That's true" Falias agreed as he shook the offered hand. After all they could have ended up with pink or orange as jersey colours, copper at least seemed to fit the colour theme of their respective outfits better.
He quirked a smile as Dallol introduced herself anew, shaking her offered hand as he said "I'm Falias, Page of Earth" his smile turned a little rueful as he continued "And not long to be honest. That's why I decided to come since I know so few knights."
Apart from Camelot, Falias had met and talked to a total of three Knights (another Knight and two Squires). Meeting Dallol and Pompeii had brought the total up to five.
It looked like things were starting to kick off however and Falias focused his attention on Niflhel in hope of finding out what was going to happen next.
