When Thuli spoke, things started to make a turn for the worst. Ulaka's ears went back and they stayed back. A small, warning growl escaped her throat and her lip raised at the young female.
Ulaka may not have been the oldest lioness among them, but she was certain she knew more than the bumbling Thuli.
"This is why you're not a mother," was the pale lioness snappish reply.
Thankfully, both son and Ahluke were making efforts to dissolve the situation. She bumped Kel's head with her nose as he neared, and a small rumble of approval moved from her throat as the cub went to join his siblings.
Ulaka's eyes remained on the Ahluke until his back was turned and he was headed out for the aforementioned patrol. Only then did she feel safe enough to do a count of the remaining cubs. The last cub was retrieved from a bush, and she picked them up one by one and moved them into the shade.
The new mother settled down next to them. The show was over. It was nap time.

The above is my last post. I apologize for the long delay; things got crazy hectic in life.
Cub owners: You are now free to RP as much as you'd like with other pridal members. After a week ICly, Ulaka will be much more secure with the other lioness around her cubs. At a month, as they start to become juveniles, she'll be more than happy to dump her cubs on the other lionesses.
Other Players: ICly, this occured the day before the arrival of the new Inselelo. The ORP and/or OOC information to introduce him will be set up/announced (hopefully) within the week. OOCly, If you do not have 5 posts yet and would like to use this as a breeding RP, please feel free to continue posting amongst yourselves until you do.

Please PM a name to Kaelyndra so that he can be certed with his siblings. You may keep him or you can give him to a friend. If you pass him on to a friend, please let them know basic family information (mother/father) if they don't know it already. This can be provided for you if you'd like.

Shia bean Shia, I already have one of Gakere's cubs so I thought I'd give this boy to you! I already ran it through Kaelyndra. Hope you like him! <3 Well… b***h.
Thuli ignored the sounds around her, barely aware of what everyone was saying. Her eyes were burning with a cold fire as her head dropped slowly to dangerous position, mouth open in a silent snarl. For a brief moment, she did consider striking the other lioness but that thought was quickly pushed aside. She had no doubts that the Abazingeli would stop her but her biggest concern was that such an action would seriously damage any future relationships she might have with her little nieces and nephews. Gakere’s babies. Her brother might not be particularly pleased with that kind of behavior either even if he usually kept his distance from the affairs of females.
It would’ve been much easier for Thuli to restrain herself had her mother or litter sisters been close but she was alone and it took her a good amount of time to curb her temper, letting out a long and throaty growl until she finally managed regain he composure. Thuli was no longer a little cub playing pranks while pretending she didn’t mind being called a Lusizi. She was a fully grown adult. Her claws caressed the ground beneath her as she took a very long breath and when Ulaka settled down next to the cubs, a pleasant expression was already masking Thuli’s true feelings. She was very good at that.
“I’ll have cubs when I find a worthy father.” She said in pleasant tone that would fool no one but the most naïve in the group. She’d meant no offense but the comment might sting the ears of those around her who had already had cubs with the current Abaholi and Inselelo.
The blue-eyed lioness dropped to a comfortable position on the spot and proceeded to groom her paws with an uninterested expression. It was fairly obvious she wouldn’t be playing with the cubs today or in the next few days. She threw the new mother a teasing glance full of promises. Someone would have to show those cubs how to have fun and they could learn a lot from a prank master. You can’t watch them all the time.
-------------------------
Baie felt a shiver running down her spine as the tension grew to a point where a fight seemed unavoidable but thankfully the whole ordeal ended without anyone getting hurt. She did wonder what was going to happen once the cubs were out of the way and considered enlisting the help of Thuli’s mother and that one sister that always seemed to calm her down to ensure a peaceful resolution to their little argument. While Ulaka’s remark felt a bit mean and inappropriate, it was true that Thuli was simply asking too much of the new mother and rudely poking her nose in matters which were only for Ulaka to decide.
That said, she felt sorry for Lindani so she made sure she brushed her side against her son as he backed away. She doubted he was supposed to have any male duties like patrolling and instead it was his job to simply help with hunting and rearing of the cubs but unlike some, Baie knew when to keep her mouth shut. Things would be different once the Abazingeli got used to Lindani’s presence so for the moment she settled with giving Lindani a bit of silent support and plopped down to rest. The show was over, indeed.

As the aggression rose, Toboa padded forward a few paces, placing herself at the front of the gathered lionesses. She wouldn't hesitate to ensure the cubs' safety if - or, at this rate, when - a fight broke out.
The tension in her body was almost painful when Ulaka spat furiously at Thuli before turning away. Instantly, her gaze flicked over to Thuli. The other lioness' rage was obvious. Also apparent to Toboa was the mental struggle in Thuli's eyes; she was trying to control herself, a mighty effort indeed. It did show, however, that Toboa didn't need to play referee.
Flattening her ears and smiling, Toboa padded nervously toward Thuli. By the time she reached her pride mate, Thuli was already laying down and grooming herself. Always a little shy, Toboa hesitantly reached out and licked Thuli between the ears once before settling herself down beside her. Toboa didn't say anything. She just lay next to Thuli, their pelts brushing, offering good energy and a helping tongue with the grooming.
-------
A shift in his mother's energy made Kel stop chewing, although he didn't release his sister's ear. Turning his head as far as he could without losing his grip or hurting his sister, he watched his mother out of the corner of his eye.
As she calmed down and started heading towards him and his siblings, Kel finally released Uthuli's ear. He bounced toward his mother and wrapped himself around her leg, then followed her back toward the rest of the family. All of a sudden, he realized how exhausted he was. When Ulaka laid down, Kel immediately pushed himself against her chest and underneath one arm and nestled in. Within heartbeats, he was fast asleep. Mogami Hope you don't mind my little rp with Thuli there. Congrats on the win! Even though you didn't keep the cub. haha"
