Myth nodded and tilted his head at Rose, grinned softly as another story popped into his head. "Ever heard about Caligula?' He asked.

Rosangela tilted her head, trying to remember if she had heard about that. When she thought about it enough, she shook her head.
"No, I don't think I have. Can I hear it now?"Rosa asked him quietly.

Myth grinned as he dived into the story. "Caligula went by many names. Caligula, Gaius, and Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. He was a Roman Emperor. He killed his way into his political seat and thought himself above anyone or thing, including the gods. One day, Poseidon saw the arrogant king and marched his army against him. Caligula's port villages were plagued by storm after storm for weeks until finally, feeling that he had been punished enough, the storms ceased.
Angered by the audacity of the god who challenged him, Caligula made war against Poseidon and sent his army to the ocean and ordered them to stab the water.
No progress could ever be made, as water is an invincible enemy. Further angered by his inability to hurt Poseidon, Caligula made his way to the Ocean, prepared to meet Poseidon himself, but he only succeeded in being swallowed whole by Poseidon's maw before he could utter his first word."
He chuckled and shook his head. In his mind, he related Caligula to Azreth and Poseidon to the Six and those that opposed the King. It wouldn't be long until they succeeded in gaining the freedom they so desired, that he so desired.

Rosangela listened to the story with rapt attention, gasping at the end of the story. Wow, who would think they were better than the Gods, that just sounded silly to her.
"Why couldn't he have just tried another way, why go against the god of water? Water is everywhere and is so fluid, it isn't very easy to contain. A god of water could easily hide and sneak up on their victim without too much trouble,"Rosa replied.

Rosangela felt bothered by that statement, but she wasn't exactly sure why. She had been found here in the South, so she must be from here...right?
"Not all Northerners are foolish, at least they must not be,"Rosa spoke softly. She didn't know why she was defending them, but it felt right.

Rosangela flicked her ears, thinking the statement sounded bias, but why did she care so much? She felt so confused, she just didn't know how to explain what she was feeling.
"How many Northerners have you met? I am sure they must think the same way about us,"Rosa explained.

Myth was silent for a moment and looked away. "Plenty to have a valid enough reason to hate them." he finally replied, his voice tight.

"Obviously you have not met the right ones,"Rosa stated with determination, the words slipping out before she could stop them. She was being awfully protective of those in the north, shouldn't she hate them too?

Myth turned to her, his eyes hardening as he gazed at her. They said that he would stand firm in what he was saying. "I have met many, and all of them have been the same. I won't risk my life by taking chances again." He all but growled out before standing up, turning, and walking a bit away from the oasis. manga_artist303 Now would be a good time for Rumps <3

 A gentle tsking sound came from behind Myth, a plain, straw-covered stallion all but materializing near him. "There's no need to storm off when you're angry." Olive eyes twinkled as they beheld the purple male. "I'm sure I taught you better than to run off on a helpless mare," he added teasingly, though only half-joking. He circled Myth once before approaching and lightly nudging his adopted son. "So," he asked cheerfully, "who's your friend?" She seemed like a lovely young mare. Maybe her friendship would do Myth some good--if he wasn't always storming off.

"Well, nice going there, you upset him with your words. Why are you being so protective of those in the North?"Rosa asked softly, laying back down with a sigh. Somewhere deep down, she knew that not everyone in the north was that bad, though she didn't know how she knew it. She wanted to hate them, like most in the South, but she couldn't. She felt obliged to protect them...was it possible she wasn't from the South?

Myth watched his dad circle him and look at him with those understanding gold eyes of his. "Others just don't realize the pain, Dad." He said, looking over his shoulder at Rose. He said, a sense of deja vu crashing over him as he remembered finding an injured baby bayrel when he was a young colt and asking Rumps if he could keep him.

Grimm smiled sadly. "I know, son. But you also do a very good job at hiding your pain." The smile brightened as he listened to Myth speak of Rose and watched the deja vu wash over him. "That," he said cheerfully, "is the Myth I raised." Despite his hatred of humans, Myth really did have a heart of gold, a heart full of kindness... His gaze went over to the mare. He was only calling her Rose? He didn't know her real name? "Amnesia?" he guessed.
