The words did as they were planned, and gave him a slight confidence boost. A small smile was what greeted Jordan, even if it was a bit of a embarrassed one. "Thank you..."
"Ah! yes of course." He said instantly, eyeing Ferros as well. "Sorry Ferros." Jordan had said holding the charge was uncomfortable. Quinn was not one to take chances, so he made sure it backed up more than just a 'little farther'. "This enough?" He was still close enough to watch the charge, curiosity biting at his ankles. He wanted to see this.

"That's fine." Jordan stepped up to the mauled dummies - no use destroying ones that were still good, really - brought Ferros back an an angle, then planted his foot and spun, bringing the hammer around in a full circle. Halfway through the arc, Ferros's head burst into a searingly bright ball of fire with a soft, deep whump of displaced air. The dummy he hit cracked and broke off of its pole, tearing apart, several flaming pieces flying off in all directions.
The flames hissed out, and Jordan stepped back again, propping Ferros over his shoulder again. "That's better."

Once Ferros burst in to flame, Quinn was suddenly really really happy he had taken that extra step or two back.
Still he watched, amazed at the attack. Even Oki within him was oddly quiet, even emotionally. He wondered if the orcawolf was as stunned as he was. A low whistle was his reply to the destruction, followed by a small laugh. "Jordan, Remind me never to get on your bad side."

Jordan desummoned Ferros and gave Quinn a bright grin. "I usually stick to barrier daggers when I spar with trainees. Ferros is a bit big to pull on people now. He started out about a third of that size and he still thinks he should be bigger. Personally, I have to say I hope he doesn't grow again. He's already not an indoors weapon."
He looked over the destruction they'd wrought with a twinge of satisfaction; he'd come out and replace the dummies a little later, but it had been well worth the extra work. "You can also lose a charge by desummoning your weapon," he said, turning back to Quinn. "Sometimes that's necessary, but they prefer to use a charge, so if you have to waste it they get can cranky. You should also keep up a relatively regular sparring schedule if you're not on combat missions. If you let your weapon stay hungry for too long, it can do weird things to your head."

"I can see why. If you tried to attack me with him i would have run clear for the hills." True fact, he would have. He would rather not feel like a nail needed to be hammed into the ground.
"...Which actually leads to another question, randomly. How the heck can you pick him up?" He had to weigh over 500 pounds at least, Ferros. Jordan looked in shape but... not enough to pick that much up and let him swing it with such ease.
He nodded at the discussion of 'feeding' their weapons. So they were sort of like pets... keep them fed and they will be happy. Quinn cringed a moment later though, as Oki made it well known how he was no ones pet.

"The weapon bond makes him lighter for me. Only for me," Jordan explained. "When I pick him up, he feels about as heavy as a normal sledgehammer to me, but anyone else wouldn't be able to move him." His grin turned a little sharper. "There've been a couple of occasions when a monster tried to grab him from me. It's a really bad idea on their part. So I let them. ... Mostly, though, he doesn't like anyone else touching him, and he gets really upset if I touch anyone else's weapon." With certain exceptions, but that would require more explanation than Jordan wanted to get into right now, so he left that out.
"Your life will be easier in general if you're getting along well with your weapon," he continued. "You seem to be off to a good start, anyway. Some people don't mesh as well with their partners. That can get rough."

He quirked a bit of a smile at that. "So your like Thor then?" ...He really hoped Jordan had seen the Avengers movie... so he would understand. Quinn saw the movie a few days after it came out, one of his friends back then taking him along.
"....errrr i mean." A pause, thinking about jordans next words carefully."...Honestly i feel more like his play thing than his partner. I always feel like something... bad... is staring behind me." At least that explained why he was so jumpy? He looked briefly at his weapon before it too de-summoned to its necklace form.
"Mind i ask how you and Ferros got along in the beginning?"

"I feel like I should be flattered by the comparison," Jordan said, quirking a smile. He hadn't seen the movie, but he suspected that Quinn was referring to the comic-book Thor rather than the mythological figure. Either way, it was a compliment. "It was awkward at first, knowing that someone was always watching and listening, but we got along well from the start," he answered. "It took me a couple of weeks to get used to the sense of someone else being there, even so. Give yourself some time to adjust. It should get easier." He half-smiled. "It's hard to remember being alone in my head all the time."
