The other baraza, as well as many of the other pack members had proven absent from the event and to some extent it bothered Alnilam. She sat there, perched upon High Moon Point while pups watched the skies hopefully behind her. She smiled thoughtfully at memories of her own litter and how two of her own kin had still not returned. Hopefully the seers of the pack had not foretold the meteor shower incorrectly...
There, finally. A white spot in the night sky caught the present baraza's eye as it made its way across the starry sky. Another followed only a minute behind. Soon there was consistently one white streak every few minutes across the sky and Alnilam's smile only grew. It had been so long since the pack had witnessed a meteor shower and it made her heart swell to witness another.

Ela'ruhi did not like flying at night. It was dangerous in almost every aspect. Not only could you crash into something, but you might also run into a bat! The one thing she couldn't stand more than darkness was a big, hairy, blood-sucking bat.
She could just barely make out the sight of a pack of... somethings... when she noticed they all had their heads skywards. Glancing up, she, too, noticed the shooting streaks, and immediately panicked.
"The stars! Th-they're crashing!!" she tweeted wildly. In her frantic flight, she quickly tried to aim for the closest patch of ground, nearly crashing into a few of the wild dog members. Talk about close enough to shave!
The little bird hopped about on her feet (after making sure nothing was broken), flapping wildly.
"What are you all doing just sitting around!? Those things are going to crash into us!" Ela exclaimed. Sure, to those big dogs they might seem tiny, but trying being a little bird!

"Yes, yes, I'm coming," Maziwa gave a small laugh at the excitement her pups were displaying. She looked towards the leader of their neighboring pack and then back to the stars.
And... there! She saw the gleam and a streak across the sky. And another! "Look, just there," she pointed out to her young children. It was an exciting event! One that they would not have know about until their howling. She could almost hear the Howling of her own pack high in the mountains and it made her heart since.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" She sighed, watching the stars fall somewhere in the distance.

Alnilam's face turned downward to look over the crowd, trying to find her daughter. The morning was coming and while the night still had hours to go. The darkness of the night was still present, allowing her and her pack to celebrate a while longer. Still, the pups would need their rest as they slept through the early morning until the sun had already set very easily. Though she was unfamiliar with the customs of this visiting pack and if they practiced the same sleeping pattern as her's did.
Sitting back on her haunches, the graceful leader of the Nyota-Wasomaji raised her head, offering her howls as songs to the Night Mothers. May they ever watch over the children beneath them.
Dyanna's head turned, just in time to meet her mother's gaze before her head went back and the howls began. The celebration had been celebrated and now it was time to wind down and enjoy the remaining time they had. This meant it was time to offer their gifts to one another. Her ears fell back as she looked through the crowd, trying to find one specific wild dog. Aurinko wasn't present, and now that she really looked...neither was his mother. Her gift wouldn't mean as much without the falling stars in the sky. It was tradition! Still, there was always next year.OOC Stuff And that's a wrap!
