Orrin licked his lips, finding them to be slightly chapped which was quite unpleasant. "They won't come around with me here anyway." he murmured, basically saying that the spirits wouldn't be likely to come near him when Orrin was in the vicinity. He was death after all, and these spirits were the ones that generally weren't ready to move on. He simply nodded then, not really caring at this point. He wanted to rest, he needed a soul to recuperate, and that meant he would have to have one of his...helpers, come along and bring one to him.

"Actually" He muttered before the other could walk off, his violet eyes lifting to Philip as he sat up slowly "you remember the uh...creature that was here last night? Well... I need it to return" he murmured, knowing the other had asked for warning at least, though he wasn't sure how Philip would react to this knowledge. "I haven't been out reaping and that's why I'm weak... So I need one to bring me some uh...life force I guess" He muttered, not exactly sure how to explain things in such simple terms. He had dropped his gaze, a frown taking to his lips as he tried to puzzle it out in his mind, before a soft sigh escaped his lips and he looked up at Philip again.

"Is that alright?" He questioned, wanting to respect the other males boundaries this time. He knew most people would not be able to stand the sight of his 'helpers' but they were the closest things to companions that Orrin had and well... life force or not, he missed having them around already.

Philip paused but did not face Orrin as he asked if one of his helpers could come in. After a moment he looked back at the other male and shrugged, "Yeah sure." He smiled and then went into the bathroom, the sound of the falling water soon filling the silence. No doubt Orrin would be a bit confused due to the fact that Philip had reacted so angrily last night when he saw the helper but now he seemed to not really care.

At first the boy had been confused, but then relief seemed to flood his entire being and he visibly relaxed. "Thanks" He murmured, watching as the other walked away before he let his own mind wander, letting it touch the very being of the creatures he spoke of. After wandering to the window and opening it widely, he stood and waited. It didn't take long for that same dark pool to amass on the floor and form itself in to the ghastly skeletal creature. But the sight of the boy and the creature together would have been... very odd. Orrin's pool filled with affection, not love or happiness, just pure affection towards the dark creature. And in turn it seemed to nudge it's head against the boy's ribs, letting the soul slip from it's jaws again and sink into Orrin's skin.

Orrin's whole body shuddered in delight as the light drifted in to him, fighting off the sickness and making his human flesh seem more vibrant, alive. "Thank you" He purred gently, his voice taking on that strange tone again, one that seemed to make the air around him vibrate and shift. The warmth that filled him was delightful, it was warm, nurturing, and filled with life. it was what he had shared with Philip, though he was sure it did not have the same effect on the human, seeing as Philip was basically made up of this substance...or his soul was at least. Instead of sending the beast away however, he sat down on the floor, finding himself being curled against the creatures skeletal body which actually radiated a strong heat. It's wings curled back so that they did not smother him and Orrin settled against the creature comfortably.

Violet eyes slipped back to the vibrant color of blood, slitted in a comfortable glare which was currently directed at the ground. Pure contentment filled his being as he shared the warmth the creature provided. Against the dark creature Orrin created a very stark contrast with his ivory skin and sandy hair. But it was his now crimson eyes that were really striking. They were the eyes of someone who had lived for centuries, someone who had seen pain, suffering, hate, death...but also love, kindness, peace, happiness. They were the eyes of someone who, despite his appearance, had lived for a very, very long time.

He took his time in the shower, taking this private time to think about things...people...places. One person tended to haunt him every day whenever he was left alone in his thoughts. The only person he had desired to see even as a spirit. A person he thought selfishly by wanting their spirit to stay by his side all the time so they could continue to talk. Unfortunately things never worked out in his favor. Philip was a playboy but in the past he had been in a long relationship with his best friend. He was not only bullied and made into an outcast because he was a freak, but because he was homosexual and had a boyfriend rather than a girlfriend like everyone else. He didn't really care however, he had a small group of friends and someone he loved dearly. They were together all through high school and even began to attend the same college. However life decided to make his life even more of a living hell.

People remained with hatred in their hearts. Never accepting his life style and the very being he was. One night they were invited to a party though Philip chose not to go, he didn't want to, instead he just wanted to stay home and do nothing, probably just watch random stupid movies. His boyfriend on the other hand really wanted him to go but he continued to refuse and so he left on his own. While the party went on Philip just loafed at home and fell asleep while watching a random scary movie. A phone call had woken him up about eleven at night. It was a call he never thought he would ever get in his life. His boyfriend had been in a car accident, apparently he drove off the rode and it was very bad...and unfortunately he was probably killed on impact. Some who had witnessed it said that another car was involved. A group of guys who had basically forced him off the road. No one could give the license plate number or a good description of the guys or the car and so weeks later the case was dropped. Philip was left with no closure, with a whole in his heart and a deep hearted of everyone for a long time. It was only recently that he began to just stop caring. It was a reason why he tried Escape routines, why he went off drinking and went around sleeping around with who ever. A part of his soul had died and what was left had become small, withered and weak.

Philip shut the water off and dried off, looking into the mirror for a moment. With a sigh he looked away from his reflection in a bit of disgust before getting dressed and walking back out. He spotted Orrin on the floor with his creature thing but said nothing. Instead he sat on the couch and stared blankly at the television.

Orrin tilted his head ever so slightly at the sound of footsteps, though that was the only indication Philip would have received that Orrin had heard him come in. The creature folded around him shifted once, before it let out a large sigh, though there was no air to accompany the sigh of course. Orrin was on the edge, between human and reaper at the moment and perhaps that was why he could feel the creeping emotions from the red head sitting on the couch only a few steps away. Crimson eyes slowly lifted, fading out to a violet hue as they landed upon Philip. Pain, longing, despair, loneliness... Those were a few of the emotions that slid from his soul, crying out to be comforted, fixed. Philip was a haunted person, that was for sure; and not just by ghosts. The past haunted him, it hurt him every chance it got and that vacant expression upon the red heads face simply provided the proof.

"Go home" He cooed to the creature behind him, feeling it shift as he rose to his feet , letting his hand run over it's spine once more before he stepped away from it and approached the couch, choosing to perch on the arm of the couch rather than sit next to Philip. He did not know how to bring someone the feeling of closure...comfort. He was death, all he was used to was bringing people the pain and despair of death.

Without really thinking Orrin simply lifted a hand and slowly but with purpose his hand seemed to lace itself into the red heads damp hair, not pulling but rather spreading out in a soft touch meant to soothe. There was one thing he did know, and that Philips pain was caused by the very thing that kept him alive...the death of a human. One who had to be so dear to him that it left him like this even now. He didn't speak, didn't offer any comforting words for he didn't believe platitudes were necessary. To tell someone it was alright, when obviously it was not, was simply a waste of time.

For a moment Orrin paused, his gaze shifting down to the redheads face "Is this alright?" He voiced, suddenly unsure if his presence was even wanted. That's not to say he wanted to stop, running his fingers through the other males hair was pleasant. It gave him a sense of closeness with someone, the feeling of being able to touch someone and not take their soul....quite pleasant and relaxing.

Philip was taken a bit by surprise when Orrin sat next to him and began to smooth his hair and run his fingers through his locks. His eyes flickered over to the male as he was sitting there with his head still tilted back slightly. Taking a deep breath he nodded slightly. "Sure, though why are you petting me?" Philip replied with a small smile growing on his face since he was just teasing him. Despite how he felt he always tried to pretend he was okay, that he was fine and that there was no need to have anyone worry about him.

If Orrin had heard the teasing note, he had chosen to ignore it as he simply continued as he was "Because." He muttered, his gaze focused intently just above Philips head "You need it." He stated as if it were the simplest thing in the world. "I'm just sorry it's very, very late" He added, knowing that Philip would likely catch on to his meaning. Orrin simply suspected the other would move away after he spoke those words, it was a harsh reality and ever harsher when you learn that the person sitting next to you could sense your unease, pain and suffering. Suddenly he withdrew his hand as if he had been scalded, it was his fault that Philip was upset as he was anyways. He was Death... he was the one who had likely taken that soul into himself.

"Sorry" He murmured and suddenly he was up off the couch and heading for the door. He had absolutely no right to be here, he was interfering with a human life and it was about time that he left. "I shouldn't have come here" He breathed, pushing back his own turmoil at this point. His human body and mind left him in such a fragile state, and he didn't understand everything, but he did understand one emotion that seeped into his own mind and spread like wildfire - Regret.

He wasn't human, he was not meant to spend time with human beings or sympathize with them either; it was his job to send people to their deaths. Hell! Just early the other day he had been ready to take Philips life but had only stopped because the other could see him...

"I am Death" He stated in a voice that just seemed...hollow. It lacked everything, the feeling of life included. But he spoke those words so that Philip would understand, understand that it was he who took the souls of the dearly departed, it was he who often cut the life line.

"That you are," Philip replied as he sat there, as he had not moved even an inch. Sitting there he had a lot running through his mind and it was getting just a tad bit hard to even focus. Like with a flip of a switch he stood up and stretched. "Welp, I'ma go and get a drink. It's a pretty boring day don't you think? Wanna come along or did you learn your last time that alcohol is no good." He laughed and turned, heading to his room to go change. He had been alone for a couple years now so to have Orrin just leave would not dieter him as much. If Orrin felt uncomfortable here there was no need for him to linger after all. Philip didn't mean to run people out of his life...but in the end he did so anyway. It was his way of making sure that he wouldn't get hurt again...that he would lose anyone important again.

Orrin froze up when the other spoke, that was...not what he had been expecting. A drink? Orrin was trying to warn the other of the consequence of being near him, and he was asking if he wanted to get a drink? Obvious frustration seemed to cling to the males face as he watched Philip walk away. Shaking his head Orrin looked down at himself, it wouldn't really look good to go out wearing the same clothes would it? Pursing his lips he wandered to the bathroom and shut the door. Rather than discarding his clothing he simply let a bit of that essence slip from him and surround his body. His clothing seemed to shift and change until his outfit was entirely different. Now he had a pair of slightly tighter black jeans, a silver shirt with a slight V neck and a black and red striped sweater over top. He took out the small ponytail that kept some of his hair in check and simply let it fall loosely, ignoring it's natural curl.

He then slipped out of the bathroom and waited for Philip, a solemn look on the males face as his thoughts continued to race. He'd go with Philip, but it was mostly to keep the spirits at bay... Philip was too good at hiding behind a cheery face, but the unnerving thing about it was that Orrin knew it was fake. A facade put up so that people wouldn't butt into his personal life.

Lifting his hands to his face he let them rest there, before he slid them up raking his hair back as he did, violet eyes filled with turmoil. Perhaps all these human emotions would be bad for him, he couldn't seem to quiet his mind at all. "I'll come with" He voiced when Philip did return and resigned himself to follow the other.

Philip decided that walking would be better and so he walked with Orrin to the closes bar. By now most of the local bars knew him and he had tabs there too. Walking in with Orrin right behind him he waved at the bartender who happened to be a woman...in fact all the bartenders were women. Sitting himself down at the bar he made sure no one took the seat next to him since that was for Orrin. Asking for a bottle of beer he looked at the male and then added, "And just get him a nice cold cup of soda." He smiled brightly and took a sip of his beer before looking back at him again.

"I figured that you want to know what's bugging me but I'm not one to really talk about my s**t. So just wait till I'm drunk, then you'll get your answers." He laughed and finished his beer already and asked for another.

Violet eyes followed Philip first, before Orrin moved to follow the male out. When they arrived at the bar he was sure to take note of his surroundings, which meant he was basically looking at all the life lines. Finally he pulled his gaze from the people in the bar and took to sipping at the drink Philip had ordered him, instantly recognizing the fact that there was no burn, and thus no alcohol. His head tilted ever so slightly when Philip spoke again and slowly a frustrated frown took to the boys features. Suddenly he reached out and swiped the next beer before the man could take it, locking his own gaze with the red head next to him.

"I can already guess, Philip" He stated in a tone which honestly....did make him sound old and that also drew the attention of the waitress who gave him a funny look which he ignored. "And honestly, I'd rather hear from you sober. So either it waits until you....want to talk, or you keep it to yourself" he stated as he placed the beer on the bar, which meant Philip could now grasp it if he wanted. He then sighed and turned his gaze away from the man beside him "Plus I don't know why you would want to tell me anyways. I'm a monster Philip. I'm the epitome of the creature lurking under your bed." He stated, sounding far more frustrated than he looked, but he was fairly good at hiding the emotions part...still it all shone through in his words. "You should be wanting to rid yourself of me, not telling me your life story"

Philip pursed his lips when Orrin took his beer and he looked at him while he went on about not wanting to listen to drunken stories and he went on to talk about how he should get rid of him etc. Taking his beer back he scoffed a little and drank what was left and asked for another. While waiting he held on to the empty bottle and stared straight a head with his eyes fixated on something..that wasn't exactly there.

"I'm cool with keeping it to myself." He paused for a moment and lightly tapped his finger on the cold class, water slowly dripping down toward the counter. With a short and light chuckle he went on to say. "Do you know what a monster is? It's not the appearance, but ones actions. In your complicated case you're no where near a monster. If you wish to look into the eyes of a monster then look into the eyes of humanity. Humanity as a whole is a monster...a hateful, disease ridden pile of...." He trailed off when the bartender came back and handed him his drink. Taking a drink he sat there quietly for a moment his eyes still fixated on the invisible object.

"Do you want me to tell you who's a monster? A mother...a mother who decides to kill her child, a man who decides to rape another man or a woman, a murderer, a bully..." Finally turning his gaze at the male he continued, "The list goes on. Yet have you done any of those that I already listed? No. It's not like you go around killing people. By the time you get there they were already dead. By the time you got to me I was there...within the border line of death and life. I'm more of a monster compared to you." With a light grin he put money down on the counter and got up, leaving the bar.

Orrin sat there feeling like he had a lump in his throat, Philip was turning his very words against him and it really wasn't helping Orrin's case what so ever. Frustration seeped into his every thoughts as he watched Philip pay and leave the bar, whilst Orrin simply sat there. 'I'm only there when they're about to die? You're so wrong'

With a sigh he got to his feet and wandered out of the bar, his gaze wandering for a moment before he picked up on the life sign of Philip and moved quickly in the direction the other had gone in, catching up with very little effort. "Philip, I've killed people. I do it every single day. And no I don't arrive when they're drawing their last breath. It's me who takes their very life essence away, and I use it, to survive. I take the lives of the living, and turn them into energy for myself to go on. Sure the soul moves on, but all that life energy, goes in to sustaining me." He stated in a hushed tone but he was positive that Philip could hear him.

"It is likely I, who took the life of who ever you are grieving over." He stated in a very...blunt tone, but at the same time there was a slight edge of pain to it. He never asked to be death... he never asked to have to take lives from humans, but he had to. Not just humans though, everything. He could kill anything he wished by just looking at them, and that was the cruel reality. He then stopped walking "You're far from a monster. You have a pure life essence... very pure, even if you don't know that yourself" He murmured, not bothering to move from where he was as the crowd walked around him, not paying any attention to the boy with the sand colored hair.

Philip could do it, he could continue to walk and ignore the other males explanation despite how he would not change the conclusion Philip had made. It was of course until he had brought up a touchy subject. He couldn't help but stop as well, the corner of his lip twitching ever so slightly and just like the night he had snapped at Orrin another switch seemed to have flipped and that same emotion filled his body, seeping into his very bones. Whirling around he gripped the males shoulder and pushed him against the wall of the building, his grip tightening.

"See...this is what I meant. You've been a human a mere two days and you're already as stupid as them all. If you can't see that tainted little ball of monstrosity in my very being then I suggest you pull your pretty little head out of your a**. Don't think for a second that you were the one that killed him. The one's who did it had not done it on a whim. I knew who they were, I knew what they had planned and not a single moment did you come into the picture. You're nothing but a tool that cleans up the mess after all is done with. But if you want to call yourself a murder...I suggest you call yourself a coward. You don't get your hands dirty. You're a thing, a concept. The monster comes within the human mind, you're just a ghost story. You're not eve real." He pushed away from Orrin, causing the male to bump back against the wall. Turning he walked off with his hands shoved into his pockets. The people who were around had watched the whole thing and they all seemed a bit confused.

A woman walked over to Orrin and asked, "Hey..you okay?"

Orrin had been ready to have this argument, ready to defend his point until the bitter end...that is until Philip said those words. 'The monster comes within the human mind, you're just a ghost story. You're not eve real.' That repeated over and over in his head and he didn't even feel anything when he was pushed back against the wall one last time and Philip watched away. Orrin dropped his chin to his chest, violet eyes...empty. It was funny, that was the one thing that he always feared, just being a story...not real...not believed in. It took him a moment to register that a woman had spoke to him and he lifted cold eyes to meet her gaze, watching as she cringed away from him. "Perfectly fine." He stated in a voice so chilling he was sure all that heard it now had goosebumps.

Orrin pushed away from the wall and turned to walk the opposite way Philip had, and...he just kept on walking until he found himself sitting on a city park bench. Hr simply sat there in a daze for a while, and was sure hours had passed by the time he finally snapped out of it as it was starting to get dark and...well he was hungry. The problem with this was that he had no money and the only person he could rely on was currently very angry at him...but Orrin had only been honest. Orrin took in a shaky breath, and it was then that he realized for the first time he was feeling an immense amount of fear.

Stealing himself Orrin headed back to Philips apartment, easily by passing the first floor doors and making his way up until he was standing outside Philips door. He didn't want to be here.... He didn't want to confront Philip but before he could really do anything he lifted a hand and knocked steadily on the door.
