"You didn't do nothin' wrong," Tuck shifted himself around on the floor so that his back was against the bed. There was a strange smile on his lips, sad and happy at the same time. He was content just to hold her in his arms like this.

"Me too. An' you win," he agreed with a smile in his voice as he situated her in his arms. He took a moment to clear his throat.

"You scare me." His voice was soft and earnest.

Heidi's eyes were closed, there was a happy little smile on her face, and she looked the picture of contentment in Tuck's arms. She wasn't used to guys taking an interest in her for more than chilling and doing well..guy things. Sports, video games, that kind of thing.

Wait, what?

Her eyes fluttered open and Heidi moved her head to look up at Tuck. "Scare you? What..?"

"Not.. not like. I ain't afraid of you. You don't scare me like that. Just that sometimes I don't know what's goin' on in your head, an' I don't know what you want from me."

Tuck kissed her forehead.

"I'm used to women that like to play games. Not since comin' here, everyone seems to understand things, but before. Back at college. That make sense?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 12, 2013 9:32 pm

He wasn't afraid of her? But he just said she scared him. That didn't make any sense. What did she do? What had she done? Was she doing something wrong?

Oh. That was.. "Oh." Weird. Heidi liked to think she was pretty straight forward. Tuck had said when she wanted kisses to tell him, so she did, when she didn't, to tell him. They hung out, they sparred, they talked, they were friends. "Er.." She scratched at her cheek, resting her head against his shoulder. "I..guess?" He didn't know what was going on in her head. Did that mean she was too unpredictable for him? "All I want is to be your friend, Tuck. I just..happen to really, really like kissing you. S'been awhile since a guy treated me like a girl and not just one of his bros, so maybe I'm a little too excited about it? It just feels really nice." She shrugged.

"I don't think I'd be playing games with you even if I knew how to play them." Heidi chuckled, leaning back in Tuck's arms. "And if you wanna know what's on my mind all you gotta do is ask, dude. I'm inexperienced but I know things." She shrugged again. "Does..does that help?"

Tuck laughed.

"It's complicated. I guess what I'm tryin' to say is that you ain't what I'm used to. It's nice. Nothin' wrong with it, not even a little. I like bein' around you because you're you, an' you ain't tryin' to be nobody else. You don't want nothin' from me but my friendship - and my kisses, I guess," he grinned.

"It helps. I just want you to know that I never want to hurt you no matter what, so if things change, it's okay. I trust you."

Tuck shrugged and blew a raspberry on her neck.

"Serious s**t, man."

"I'm a special snowflake." Heidi laughed. He liked being with her, they were friends. This was the best. "I trust you too, Tuck. I don't think you'll--"

Heidi squealed with laughter and pushed against Tuck's chest when he suddenly attacked her neck, squirming on his lap to try and get away. "D-doooon't! Noooo!" She laughed, grinning at him despite his words.

"Well if it was something that was bothering you at least now it's out, yeah? I'd rather you tell me if something's bothering you, I'd do the same for you." Heidi leaned in for an eskimo kiss, giving Tuck a real kiss against his lips after. "You're a jerk." She was referring to the raspberry. First tickles and now that? Tuck was obviously evil incarnate.

Tuck grinned at the squeals and kept grinning even through the kiss. He didn't let her escape, not even a little. She was stuck where she was.

"You ready to sleep or you want to stay up and keep talkin'? If you nice to me I might let you be the big spoon."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 12, 2013 10:11 pm

"Mmm..can we do both?" She stopped trying to escape and resigned herself to her fate. "..You're too big to be the small spoon." Heidi blinked, she then sighed mournfully and shook her head. "I truly suffer for your comfort."

"You need to change? I can run an' brush my teeth while you do." He grinned at that mournful tone of voice. "Yeah you do. Dunno what I ever did to deserve such kindness."

Tuck nudged Heidi a little. "Get up. I'ma go brush my teeth n' come back an' climb into bed. Maybe we can talk 'bout where you want to go on our day away."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 12, 2013 10:50 pm

Change? Eh, maybe a little. Might as well. "Okay, yeah. Changing sounds good." Heidi picked at her sweater and stretched out her legs to look down at her ice cream cone leggings. Yeah, no..she wouldn't sleep in these.

She was nudged and she just let herself fall to the floor like she'd been shoved off a bridge, laying on her stomach with her face against the floor. You could have traced her and gotten the perfect chalk silhouette drawing. Heidi whiiiiiiined. "I don't wanna get uuuuup," she complained and rolled over onto her back, cheering up instantly when he mentioned their upcoming leave day. She sat up, grinning. "'Kay! Shoo, shoo~. I have to change." Heidi was already getting up and digging through her drawers for what to wear.

Heidi waited for Tuck to leave before she changed into a tank top and shorts, putting their finished bowls of mac and cheese on her desk and climbing into bed, placing Matilda on her bedside table.

It didn't take Tuck long to leave and come back. He was clad in the same sweatpants and shirt that he'd been wearing all evening. The only difference was some serious minty fresh breath. Tuck set his toothbrush on the desk before he slipped his socks off and then he crawled into the bed.

"I am pretty sure your damn bed is way more comfortable than mine is."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 13, 2013 8:59 am

"Well then aren't you lucky to be sleeping in it." Heidi grinned, reaching out to snuggle close to Tuck once he was settled in bed. "Do you have any immediate ideas where we should go for our day off?" Heidi figured she would ask before she tried thinking of anything. She had ideas for the two days next month though! That was important to work on ahead of time.

Tuck yawned the instant his head hit the pillow, which was strange for him. Then again, he was snuggled close to Heidi. He'd never felt more rested than he had these past few days, and Tuck was looking forward to another full night's rest.

"I was thinkin' like a day trip somewhere. Maybe like. Yellowstone or Rushmore or the Redwoods or somethin'. Never been to the Grand Canyon, that might be fun, too. Leave in the mornin' an' come back in the evenin'."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 13, 2013 10:06 am

Ooh! She liked those suggestions! "I've never been to any of those places." Heidi hummed. She liked that plan, to just spend a whole day somewhere. "Yellowstone sounds like fun. We could go there! Don't they have, like, hiking and stuff?" Those places sounded right up her alley.

"Maybe sometime later on we can go camping. I used to do it a lot, horse back riding too." She smiled, moving up to give Tuck a quick kiss. "When're we going?"

"Yellowstone it is. Yeah, they got hiking and sightseeing. We could probably go next week sometime, if you ain't got nothin' else to do."

He let out a low, content rumble at the kiss.

"Campin' sounds great too. I never been horseback riding. Whatever you wanna do, short stack, we can do."

At that point he sounded half-asleep.
