Nevada almost breathed easier when Mark let on (thanks to Aria's persuasion) that they were going to get a distortion crystal artifact...thingy.
"Oh So the staff keeps the crystal from exploding?" Nevada suddenly beamed, "Stormy, what you're holding is the staff....of gandalf's! Make sure to at least slam it once on the ground and shout that NONE SHALL PASS!!!" She was of course whispering this loudly to the other mist.
Mark seemed to have everything down sooooo..
"Where's the museum?"

"Hold it." Aria reached out, placing her hand on Nevada's shoulder. "Are you sure you're ready for this? I noticed that you aren't carrying any runics, nor have I seen any reports of you completing a mission to acquire one."
The division leader turned towards Stormy next, shaking her head. "It's never it. Always assume something will go wrong and prepare for it. Things are very rarely as easy as they seem. Also, I want to talk to you before you leave. Privately," she added, throwing a stern look towards Mark. Oh yes, she was intending to throw him out of his own office.
And yes the other trainees were there. Aria gave them a look as well. "If you have questions, I suggest you speak up now. If I were you? I'd ask who's in charge myself."
Nevada blinked as Aria stopped her, "Um..." She gave a small slant of her head before settling on the truth. "I've actually completed the mist training course twice but I haven't put in for Runic weapons." She looked down, "I'm sorry Aria but the last report I filled out was when we had the situation in Sahara for Caelius, When I was on probation for another hunter to keep them from being executed." There was no point in making excuses since well...She had dropped the ball on the runic weapons.
"In charge? As in who's going to lead us for this mission? I assumed Mark would be giving us direction through the headsets he gave us. He made it seem like that was what was going down." Nevada looked to Stormy now, figuring that Mark was the one that was going to tell them what to do through the headset but honestly, she just remembered him blackmailing them with their nude pictures.
"But if that's not the case, as far as Mark leading...." Nevada turned to Stormy, "I think you should be the one to lead us. Especially if you've done this before."

The Staff of Gandalf? Bix would be so proud! But Stormy's smile was fleeting as Aria addressed them, smoothing back out into something more professional (she hoped). "Yes, ma'am." She knew very well at this point how quickly a mission could go sour . . . The Sahara, Jake's mission, a patrol in the Haunted House, all switching gears in an instant on her.
She passed Nevada a surprised glance, wondering who she had taken it on for. Stormy hadn't been around when the initial occurrence had apparently began, but she had seen Ofelia's leg bracelet; she'd heard what would happen if they messed up again while on it. Yikes . . . "I've never led a mission before, but I've been on a few," she explained with a tiny nod. "And I've run every course except Death's at least once. Miss Candace helped me a little."
The closest she'd been to leading was when she had brought the small group with her on the Sahara, and that hadn't turned over well when she had died--from leader to being babysat by those who thought her incapable of moving forward without hurting herself. And Stormy remembered all too well what had happened when Jake had failed to be a leader of his own mission: severe injuries, near deaths, and an aloof yet scathing report from Caelius. Both of these notions, along with the fact that she was with friends and thus needed to be responsible for them, steeled her normally wobbly willpower, and she gave Aria a determined look.
"I'll lead." Then, tossing Mark a glance, she leaned in and added in an undertone, "What d'you need me to do, ma'am?"
Tuck stood at attention and shook his head at Aria.
"No questions, ma'am, and I've got clearance for a few runic items, ma'am."

"That is, essentially, the same as never having completed it." Aria told Nevada briskly. "Being qualified to wield runic chains won't help you when you need them on the field. Next time, file your paperwork as soon as you get back. I'm going to let you off this time, but next?" Aria waggled her finger at her. "Let's make sure there isn't a next time."
Aria's attention shifted to Stormy. "I need you to wait here," the division leader began. "Everyone else? Out."
Everyone (including Mark) except for Stormy was ushered out of the office, leaving the two alone. After a brief private message was shared between the two, the door to the office was opened and Aria stalked off, giving those that were waiting outside a lazy wave. Held in one hand within a sealed plastic bag reserved for crime scene evidence was a closed manilla envelope.
When Mark would check his computer next, he would find that someone had changed his desktop wallpaper while wearing a pair of very thick gloves.

Nevada nodded to her leader, sighing with relief. Next time she did mission, Runic. ALL THE RUNICS. "Yes Ma'am. I'll be sure to fix my runic problem." She nodded as they were ushered out.
Outside in the hall, she shuffled around the team and rubbed her forehead. "I think I might really dislike Mark." Just because wow, headache after. Her phone pinged with a message and as she flipped it open, her faze froze...then went into a lazy smile. Like nothing happened.
There was some scrolling, a click of her button and the message was deleted.
"As far as breaking and entering..." She looked up at Sherry, Evan and Tuck. "You guys think you'll be able to handle it?"

There was a loud, loud sigh from the headsets, which was probably Mark. It seems the Mist lead and him indeed had a sort of talk. And maybe a falling out though it would be sort of hard to fall out when they hadn't technically actually fallen in.
"Let me know when you guys are at the portal." Another equally loud, dramatic sigh. "When you get there, and arrive at the location, take the first corridor left and the stairs up." Sigh. "Then uh, bank a right, and another left." Sigh. "After that there should be three doors, so take the first door, and then there should be a hallway, get down the hallway, and take the third door on the left and the first in the series of three walls to the right wall. Take the stairs down and then the elevator to the basement floor and it's, like, totally there."
The good news, is the walk to the portal was pretty straightforward, being a singular path. The bad news, is that once they got there, well, there was no corridor left. In fact the first thing that happened the second they arrived was that the lights and alarms started blaring, very much like those classic sort of 1990's crime movie montages. It would have been amusing, if it wasn't happening to them.
"Oh crap!" Mark wailed on the headset. "I forgot that I disabled the alarm for fifteen minutes only! Hang on, I got this," there was the sound of frantic typing, "no wait, I don't have it, crap, uhhhh hang on for a few minutes okay! Don't get caught!"

- Security guards can now be heard filtering in from either sides of the room towards you. You are in a long corridor, and there are several doors on each side. Which way you go is up to you, as the only rule is to not get caught.
- Unfortunately the portal behind everyone seems to have disappeared the second they stepped in, making escape not a viable option. Pendant warping seems to be disabled as well.
ROOMS EVADING AND YOU: - You need to evade for FIVE MINUTES as Mark gets his s**t in check. Each time passed is 30 seconds. Try to survive with full HP. Roll a 6-sided dice and match your dice roll to the results below. RP out the result and add the time onto your current time. Once you have hit five minutes YOU ARE SAFE. However, if you do hit lower than 0 HP, you get CAPTURED/ tasered by the guards. Someone has to SAVE YOU. They can do this by sacrificing 10 HP of theirs to run and save you. Simply have them rp out saving you and dragging you to safety. - Once again you must continue rolling until you hit the 5 minute mark using the time. So if you roll and get 30 seconds and roll again and get 1 minute, you are now at 1:30.
Rolling a 1: A security guard spots you and starts yelling! You hear bullets, wait a second is this really a museum? A few scrape off your weapon, thankfully you go undamaged for the most part other than the scare -5 HP + 30 seconds Rolling a 2: One of the many doors pops open as guards try to surround you. They take out blunt weapons now at close range and try to assert to violence. Once again you have to wonder to yourself what you have gotten into as you struggle your way out. -10 HP + 1 minute Rolling a 3: You hear a shout ,and something extremely large hits you on the side. You never see it coming, you can't figure out what happened, but all you see are starts. -1/2 YOUR FULL HP + 2 minutes Rolling a 4: You manage to evade the guards by opening one of the more closed off rooms. This however, is quickly followed by shouting + 1 minute Rolling a 5: You feel a zap as you nearly get smacked with something sparkling and electric - a taser perhaps? Your Fear shield thankfully puts up a good fight. -5 HP +30 seconds Rolling a 6: You are assaulted by several security guards at once as they attempt to block your path. You narrowly manage to escape -5 HP +1 minute.

Whatever Aria had told her behind those doors, when Stormy reappeared it was with a determined face. The face of a leader. Hopefully.
She clutched the runic staff a little tighter and took a breath. "You'll have to be able to handle it, okay?" she told the group as she strode forward with purpose. "Whatever happens, keep your cool. In and out. Easy."
< < Nothing is ever so. Be prepared. > >
"Take whatever runics you're cleared for and meet us at the portal." Without bothering to ask, Stormy took her fellow Mist's hand and walked with her there, needing a bit of comfort from the presence of her roomie so that her nerves didn't work up. This was their mission, whatever positions they were in. Her brothers would be watching. Sherry was watching.
Gale was waiting.
Deep breaths. Aria's advice still rang in her head.
With a meaningful look to Nevada and a little smile, she muttered to her, "We can do this, okay? Just gotta watch our backs." Unsure (or afraid even) of saying more, she entered the portal with her breath held.

Nevada waited for her roomie to exit, taking the girl's hand in her own, just has Stormy reached for it before taking up a breath. "Chin Up Pet. Let's channel um....." She tried to think of a disney character, "Abu, It'll be a steal......in and out right?" Nailed it.
She nodded to the team, smiling at them before jerking her head towards the lighthouse. "Meet you there cuties~"
Once there, she squeezed Stormy's hand. "Mist got each other backs. We stick to the plan." She emphasized on the last part just a bit, feeling that Stormy would catch the drift before waiting for the team.
"I'll follow last Stormy, Cover the back." And to make sure that everyone made it in safely.
Stormy blinked at the reference and would have clung to Nevada in a tight hug if they weren't on a mission. "King of Thieves," she agreed with a solemn nod, even if that had been a weird threequel movie...But if Nevada had gotten a message too, then they were at least on the same page. Stormy thought to ask if she was sure about being last, but this was their mission--they were in charge of these people. So she simply nodded. "Right then."
Once the others arrived, Stormy watched as the portal closed abruptly behind them; this was really real now. Oh God. Deep breaths. "Okay, so here--"
And that was when the alarm went off.
Mark's frantic shouts did not help her not so steeled nerves.
"Please get moving!" Stormy told the group as a door busted open and a group of guards poured out. Without thinking she summoned Thane, ignoring their surprised curses as she leapt forward to stop them. Large as the greatsword was, she could only fend off a few of the batons at a time and found herself more than thankful that she had a shield up.
Tuck had fully intended to move to the forefront of the group so that he could protect whoever needed protecting. He tried to get to Stormy first, but the next thing he knew he was completely blindsided by a shout - and then something rather huge and rather heavy collided with him. Tuck had no idea what was going on, and he had no idea what had hit him.
He woke up, completely dazed and seeing stars, and slowly staggered to his feet.
Nevada waited until Evan, Tuck and Sherry went through the portal, waving to the crew before stepping in after. "The 40 thieves have arrived...." She murmured, looking around. The rest of the team was unsee to her eyes as she adjusted to the dimmer lights. She refrained from summoning her gun, seeing as the weapon would most likely draw attention and slid closer to the walls.
Which didn't seem to do much as a group of guards passed by before she could get close to the wall.
"s**t!" She yelped as they all came running towards her. There was a lot of manuvering and some body checks but Nevada got off lightly as she kicked one of the guards off her. It was a good thing she was a mist, some techniques she learned were only thanks to the mist training.. "Don't you guys know not to hit a lady?" She must be the target of hitting because damn, grown men attacking a small girl? Leroy cursed at the humans, streaming about how if he had a chance he'd do something mobster like.
She worried about Stormy and Sherry though, if these guards were willing to go after her, the other two weren't going to get off easier either. The smart thing to do would be to fine the other girls.

Sherry watched and listened and nodded. Mission was a mission and... Sherry could handle this. Yeah. In and out. Running support. She had her bandages. She was prepared.
Which was why she'd said 'yes' to being able to handle breaking and entering. Really, there were far worse things out there. The rules of the normal world only went so far and--
Alarms. Really? Damn real world and it's damn security. Armagnac was summoned on reflex as Sherry scattered with the rest of the group. Moving, as Stormy had suggested was the best plan. A yell alerted her to the fact that someone had seen her. Maybe the weapon was a bad idea. It was kind of large and-- Was that gunfire?! It was. Those were bullets and holy hell, what was that guard thinking?
Sherry did what she could to scramble out of the way... She had no clue how much gunfire a Fear shield would help against.

It was like that one mission with Ami and Evan and the others. Seriously.
"Keep moving!" she shouted at them, which felt like a leadery thing to do, because as long as the mission leader was confident and and active--
Wham!
Something slammed into her side without warning, and Stormy cried out as her shield took the brunt of it around her ribs. What it was, she didn't know, but she had to swing Thane awkwardly to regain her balance, wincing as she gulped down breaths.
Nevermind, this was worse than that other museum mission.
