Kilian Kilian turned his focus back to Ekundayo. "Yes. It's nice to know that not all Oblivionites are mindless tools." He let out an aggravated sigh as he thought of all his friends. Were they all part of this skirmish or were some of them tucked safely away in their homes? Knowing his friends, they were right in the middle of it. Would he have to fight any of them? Kadryn, Junjie, Elleth, god he hadn't seen that woman in ages and Kavanna. All were on his mind. Poor Kavanna too. Her husband was in the Orderite guard. How would she deal with that? he shook his head and thought of the most important one of them all; Erionda. Was she safe? What camp had she decided to head to. As much as he hated the thought, he hoped that she was with Junjie. He'd protect her, Kilian knew that much.
Kilian let out a small sigh as he tried to shove those thoughts away. No sense in dwelling on those things. There was nothing he could do about them now. "So, Ekundayo....What's with those sti..." Kilian didn't get a chance to finish his sentence. In the next second a flash of purple in the corner of his eyes caught his attention. A female Oblivionite had tripped over one of their Keindreds. "Purple...hair.." It couldn't be her. Could it? It had been ages sine he'd last seen her but he was damned sure it was her. "Elleth? Is that you?" Kilian asked, stunned to see the female after so long. Word Count: 259
Araceli "Playing games?" Ara asked as she looked up at Toki. "But who would do such a thing? And why[?" The young Dovaa didn't understand adults sometimes. She understood the necessity of battles and war. Would even fight, no matter how inexperienced and frightened she might be. She didn't have many friends outside of the Celestial Planes, so she had no one but her parents to really worry about. Her nosed snarled up at the mention of Oblivionites. She really wouldn't be surprised if one of them had started all this mess.
Her head cocked to the side. "Who is...Rhaze? And why does he hate bondeds so much?" Ara asked. Word Count: 109

Kioda
The bright green Ysali tilted her head to the side. Her haunches falling to the ground, her tail wrapping around her. Was he trying to flatter her? Lifting her muzzle defiantly Kioda looked out at him from the corner of her eyes. "I could ask the same question of you. You don't often see your kind around Eowyn. However I'm here exploring. More like I was heading on my way to Ayr." Lowering her head she licked her muzzle. "Of course I ended up stumbling upon this mess of two leggers. And to be honest who could resist the pull?"
Her torn wings fluttered as she motioned with her snout towards the spilled blood. Lowing her font end in a serene state Kioda's eyes focused on the small items on the field. Weapons, blank of color, void of any power they might have held. Probably worthless junk now. Those weren't the items she was even interested in to start with. Turning her head to Eyphah, Kioda rumbled at his answer. Pulling her front leg up between them as she leaded slightly away.
Banquette? These fighting creatures didn't carry food on them! They carried only what essentials were required for battle. Unless the strange Drakein had been referring to the two luggers themselves? "Me?" She asked lowering her paw to the ground. "I'm here seeking orbs." Kioda responded in a matter of fact tone.
Wasn't it obvious that was the reason she was here? Shivering as he mentioned the Orderites. "You can have all the filthy birds to yourself. Nasty creatures, those are."

A dismayed sound escaped her before Elleth could bite it back as she hopped twice to regain her balance. She had jump back more to avoid the snapping jaws of the now irritated flame colored Keindred. She muttered an apology to both the creature and it's bonded and slipped past them, intending to try and vanish into the crowd. It felt strange to treat some of her beastly enemies as an ally, but so long as she herself didn't have to bond with one she felt as if she could tolerate it.
She didn't expect to hear anyone call out her name, especially in a voice that sounded somewhat familiar.
"Yes?" She asked as she hesitantly made her way closer. The two Oblivionites before her were strange though one looked familiar enough that a name should have popped up. The lack of one was frustrating her but she didn't let the emotion show. Instead she took a moment to examine both of them. One was held together by thick threads, as if he'd been put together from corpses. Which was absurd but not beyond the capabilities of magic. The one who'd called her was pleasing to the eye and something told her that she knew him.
Perhaps they'd trained together at one point?

Kilian's head tilted to the side as he placed his hands behind his head. Elleth sure had grown up since the last time they'd met. He recalled the slight crush he had had on her as a child. The memories did nothing to him now but bring back slightly more pleasant memories. He'd only met her that once but she had seemed nice enough. "You don't recognize me?" He asked as Amadia turned her attention away from Ekundayo and his bonded. Who is this, Kilian? She asked as she looked up at Elleth. An old sparring partner. Came Kilian's response.
"I suppose you wouldn't. I'm not a scrawny kid, wet behind the ears anymore. My name's Kilian." He said as a smile flitted across his face before he remembered where they were. It quickly faded, replaced by a frown. "Not a very good place or time to meet back up." Word Count: 148

✦ A Monster Appears ✦ Alpha was tired of his life, tired of the pain, the experiments and the monotony that had become his day to day life. He had been different once, and while Alpha's memory continued to steadily fade he remembered that much. He had been born under a different name, as an Oblivionite. He had taken to the battlegrounds early, eager to prove himself and punish the other races for the loss of his mother on those very same battlegrounds.
Alpha didn't remember the blow that nearly killed him and had only hazy memories of being carted off to a secret laboratory underground. It was then that he became project Alpha and the experiments began. Dazed and then drugged, he faded in and out of consciousness, waking one time to find his arms replaced with reptilian limbs far more befitting a Drakenian than an Oblivionite. He had been horrified and screamed for help, bringing a swarm of people to his bedside.
They called themselves the hybrid coalition and claimed that they were doing him a favour, that his old arms would have been crippled. They told him of his new name and explained that he was a miracle of the deities' grace for he alone had survived their attempts to merge the blood and limbs of different species together. He was stronger now than when they had dragged his half dead carcass off the battlefield. They would make him stronger yet, giving him the greatest diversity in blood and skill that anyone on Magesc had ever held. They were going to make him the first of a new race that would inherit magesc when all was said and done.
He could have torn the crazed healers limb from limb but Alpha had relented, after all he still owed the Orderites and Dovaa revenge. If he grew stronger he could defeat anyone who dared challenge him. Surely these people could only improve his chances at success even if he did not fully trust them.
Relenting had been a mistake though, for the experiments continued well beyond a reasonable level and with every part of him that was replaced Alpha's anger faded as did his sense of self. Once empty eyes all at once suddenly flared to life with a spark of soul fire. The world was sharper and clearer now , Alpha saw things in a completely different way, not to mention with colour. It was with this colour including vision he eventually noticed that his hair was starting to come in as an unfamiliar white. At first it had only been a few strands here and there but eventually his curly dark locks were replaced entirely with wavy white hair.
Time passed and more changes occurred, each one stripping away at the young man who had been there before. His quest for vengeance was lost somewhere along the line and yet Alpha continued living, now stripped of any real motivation. Alpha had become more complacent day by day, putting aside his own wants and needs for the sake of his captor's progress and discovery.
Until today !
Alpha was done with this life and if the doctors did not let him leave he would claw his way to freedom, through them if need be. Something had finally snapped inside the young man and he was once again filled with a sense of purpose.
The sounds of distant battle as Alpha finally reached the surface world caused anger to bubble inside of him. He followed the noise north to it's source, mounting rage growing with every step. Still this battle raged on, as if it had never stopped. Only now could he understand how pointless it all was, how they were all nothing but pawns.
Off in the distance he could make out the blurry forms of those fighting and as he approached a maniacal grin spread across his face, dark lips peeling back to reveal teeth that had long since morphed into jagged peaks far more suited to a beast than a magescans. He was so much more than a magescan now though and for all he regretted his willing imprisonment Alpha was not about to let his changed form go to waste.
Alpha was unphased by the horrified shouts that came when people started to notice him. Each step took him closer to the fight, in particular closer to the Dovaa encampment. They should fear him, he was above all of them now and he was free.
The Dovaa girl who dared to approach him first, golden eyes wide with fear, was treated to a trio of claws right through her throat just as she opened her mouth to speak. Alpha stood there, letting the girl's life blood flow across his claws and hand as he sent her comrades a challenging glare. He would take them all down, he would destroy every Dovaa, Orderite and even Oblivionite until the deities themselves acknowledged his presence.

Agniri
Keen eyesight allowed Agniri to catch sight of a strange shaped figure approaching the dovaa campsite. Being all the way across the battlefield from them though the Firiani keindred could not make out strong details. She was about to lose interest in the newcomer and really this whole situation when the strange being reached out and stabbed one of the dovaa with it's claws. Agniri let out a startled squeal and backed up, trying to huddle closer to the safety of her fellow drakein. Brave and assertive as she was the young drakein had never tangled with a two legger before and certainly not one that greeted people by stabbing them.
"What is wrong with them?" she hissed, asking the question to no one in particular.

Kadryn Kadryn was about to respond to Maslin when she heard cries come from outside. They were angry and grief filled. Had something just happened?
"It was some hybrid! It's out there killing and attacking everything! " She heard a young voice cry. A Hybrid? But wasn't it the Oblivionites who had started this? She didn't like the sound of this. People already disliked hybrids, but if they were seen as an ‘enemy’ instead of a disgrace?
“This can’t be good,” She muttered. She glanced at Maslin, “You sure you want to be here Maslin? From what that kid just screamed you might become a target soon…” If that happened she would try her best to help him get out of here safely. He was her friend and she wouldn't let stupid people hurt him.
Toki
Toki sighed, "I could be wrong. It may be exactly what it appears to be, but it just doesn't feel like a normal war. I get the sense that someone's trying to get the races at each other's throats. Rhaze is a Drakeinian, one of the strongest of my people. He hates Magescians with a passion and would be glad to see you all perish. So that is why he sprang to mind when I thought about this."
He suddenly stopped, his head rose and nostril's flared to scent the new smells coming in. Death, violent and sudden had happened nearby. A fear, a lot of fear, was on the wind. It's stench was one he'd always disliked and he couldn't figure out why Magescians smelled that way when they became afraid.
He curled his tail about Araceli and pulled her close to him as he walked out of the way of the incoming rush. Young Dovaa, several of them, all afraid and all wounded. They'd gone out to battle early in an attempt to prove themselves and had been attacked by something. The way they told it, as the adults rushed to them, was that it was a monster of a person, stitched together and murderous, attacking any and all races that it found. A monster that looked like a hybrid.. now that was interesting, what was a hybrid? Toki thought to himself.

Tilawen
The young woman was surprised as the keindred she knew as Abellio had come up to her chanting her name. She stared at the creature blankly resisting the urge to pat it as she had just recently decided not to show affection to anyone or anything. Her entire goal in life was to find her father and kill him. After that she had no idea and she didn't want to think about it.
"Abellio.." She greeted in a rather monotonous tone, she looked up eyes locking on Junjie and how much he had grown since the last time she had seen him. Though she supposed she had grown a lot herself. "Junjie." One would think she would great the one 'childhood friend' with more enthusiasm, but she wasn't stupid Junjie shouldn't be here not in this throng of senseless death.
About to state just that she was distracted as her eyes locked onto a woman she recalled meeting once before if a long time ago. Esmeralda. She gave a small nod of her head to the woman and then about to start once more to tell Junjie he needed to get out of here she noticed Eironda using her magic. Ice. There was something about that fact that she found ironic as her own power was of fire.
Though she understood why the girl may be antsy with everyone about using her magic right this moment may just draw unnecessary attention to themselves. She barely had a chance to turn to Eironda's direction when there was a lot of activity happening behind them. More so than it had been.
Half turning the sudden fresh smell of blood bloomed into the air, she was use to it by now the way her life had been, but it was seeing something beyond a throng of people that had caused her to step back.
Something..she couldn't understand what it was...it could of been labeled a monster but there was something so terribly tragic about it. Though they weren't at all that close to it she found herself backing up slightly. Her oaken staff going from its regular tan color and darkening as if something was burning it from the inside out. Until it became pitch black like charcoal, it was evident she was prepared to defend if need be.
"We should..." What? Leave? That made the most sense, but she ..wanted to help the creature. But was that a smart idea? Looking back at the trio behind and beside her she wasn't the type to take the lead...so she was searching for someone else to do so.

Araceli Araceli stiffened as the cries rang through the Dovaa camp. Something was wrong. But what? She jumped as Toki's tail wrapped around her and brought her closer to him.
Monster. Hybrid. Killing. These were all words she heard as others rushed by her, covered in blood and wounds. She looked up at Toki. "So many are covered in blood." She whispered as she looked back down at those around her. She tried desperately to see around her. Even standing on her tippy toes didn't work too well. She let out a frustrated sigh. "I'm too short to see over all these Dovaas." Ara said to Toki. She broke free of his tail and ran forward, trying to get a better view of things. Her eyes widened as the crowd parted and she caught sight of a Magescian that was so deformed she wasn't sure she could call it a Magescian anymore.
"T-toki..." She mumbled as she hurriedly stumbled back to the large Drakein. "T-that's no h-hybrid." Ara was shaking so badly from her nerves that it made her hard to talk. "From my brief glance...it l-looked like it was...stitched together." She shuddered and moved close to Toki. Word Count: 197

Abellio's tail set to swishing just at the mere fact that Tilawen said his name, having never gotten the girl to really acknowledge or pet him to his point, so it felt important to him. He opened his mouth, wanting to try to say more when a wave of strange scent reached him. It was enough to cause all of his feathers to stand up and his tail to stop wagging, instead held completely still as he sniffed at the air. There was the scent of blood, but there was something else as well... a strange scent, as though Junjie, Eku, and Vilzun were all standing really close together. The Keindred seemed to be struggling a moment, trying to get a picture in his head of what it might be, but seemed to get nothing that made sense to him, "Junjie... something smells... weird." He whispered just to his bonded, not liking the scent because it was strange and had come along with the thick stench of blood. Surely it couldn't be a good thing?
Junjie looked down at Abellio, wondering what it was that he was smelling, but the thoughts he was getting from him were scrambled, as though Abellio had no idea what to think of it. A weird conglomeration of scents all rolled into one. Junjie starred at him, confused, before he turned to look over at the others, about to ask them about it, wondering if maybe Uassae was picking up the same scent and could perhaps make sense of it. Instead though his eyes fell upon Tilawen and the way that she seemed to be preparing herself for battle, it was then that he turned to look in the direction that she was looking in and when he saw it Abellio's confusion made much more sense. There was someone, something, over there and it looked... he didn't want to say wrong, but that was the feeling he got from the being. It wasn't really the stitches, he'd seen someone with stitches before, but it was everything else. He looked as though he were a mish-mash of everyone he'd met to this point all stuck together in a manner that seemed kind of arbitrary.
"What in the..." What was that? A hybrid... but... nothing like the ones he'd ever seen before and he'd seen more then he felt most had. Then what? A weapon of war? Esmeralda had mentioned that there were attacks that forced the Dovaa to join the conflict, done things that she felt were against the rules of war, and he found himself thinking that what stood before them was the same. Who had conjured up such a thing? He didn't want to think ill of either of the sides though, he had friends amongst each group after all, he didn't want to think any of them capable of summoning up or creating such a thing. So who then? He was drawing as big of a blank as anyone though due to his inability to want to blame any single faction. He'd much rather think it was some fringe group instead, not wanting to fact any of his friends on the battlefield if he could help it.
When Tilawen spoke, seeming to be trying to prompt an idea Junjie tightened his grip on his staff. What should they do? Looking the scene over he found himself thinking that maybe they should retreat... but what about that woman that the strange creature had attacked? He couldn't tell from this distance if she was dead or not, she was bleeding heavily though, could he really turn tail and run when what he wanted to was try to help her? Glancing at the others he said, "Maybe you should start to fall back?" He suggested quietly. He didn't want Erionda or Tilawen getting into range of those massive claws, not to mention that Esmeralda didn't fight, she was a scholar, so she should certain back away from the new comer. Turning his attention back to that strange creature he took a couple steps forward, not an aggressive move so much as a protective one, putting himself between their possible adversary and everyone else. He didn't want any of them hurt so he would use any of his powers, Orderite or not, if it meant keeping them safe, "Abellio, you keep Tila, Erionda, and Esmeralda safe." He told him, not wanting him to follow so he gave him an important job to do instead.
With that he took a couple more steps forward, looking for a chance to help the girl was she still breathing. He had a few ideas but he didn't want to risk appearing aggressive to someone with claws like that. No, one had to tread more carefully around this guy then a pack of angry dragons he felt, and he had those behind him to think about. Best he didn't rile him up in his attempts to see if the woman still breathed.

Uassae's head snapped about as something entered his nostrils. Flaring them as he pointed his nose into the air with a growl. Some part of the smell reminded him of someone who had given up on life. Found nothing left to hope or even dream for. Rio... RIO Uassae snapped mentally. Trying to coax the young hybrid from her current focus. The Dovaa doesn't matter right now. Something else. Something far more devastating is... blood. Rio the battle has reached us.
Erionda's eyes fluttered grudgingly away from Esmeralda. Something about the way the female Dovaa held herself made Erionda want to separate her eyes from her body. Turning to regard Uassae's comment the cloaked hybrid's eyes glanced over Tilawen, then Junjie. Finally coasting over Abellio. Lanzecki! Hurry, I need my weapon. I don't know how long I can hold this fight at bay with just my ice. Eowyn isn't kind to my magic here. Turning her cloaked form away from the female Dovaa Erionda's eyes widened with a gasping surprise.
In front of her crumpled to the ground was a young girl. What was horrifying was the figure standing above her. Gripping her fists tighter, the nails on her fingers digging into her flesh, turning her knuckles white. Hot rage flooded Erionda's bloodstream. Pulling her body forward step by step, as if her body were attached to the strings of a puppeteer. The miserable female Dovaa forgotten in the face of the new adversary.
Coming, but Erionda this thing! It's-
Lanzecki's bonded voice filled the remaining conscious part of Erionda's mind. Sending an image back to her of the rear end of the creature. He was trapped on the other side. She could feel his trembling fear as he sought out a way around the frightening hybrid.
"Keh." Erionda spat her movements pulling her to the front of the trio behind her. She had momentarily registered Junjie's instructions to fall back. Never. She would never retreat in the face of something so murderous. The woman needed help if she was even going to have a chance to survive. In order to give an opportunity to the woman. And regain her weapons for battle an attack would have to be made. "I don't need protection! The girl does, and I'm not going to stand around while she dies. I don't care if she's a spoiled Dovaa or not. She deserves one chance. Though it's more than I can say for that Hybrid. It's chance was lost the moment it harmed her. "
Pausing to give Abellio a warning stare meant to tell him to stay back, Rio turned her gaze back towards the 'monster'. Her magic activating around her feet. Sending the hot air from the sand upward in a tight gust of wind. The edges of her cloak around her feet whipped up as her magic began to build. Ready Uassae!? Grab her bring her back here. From there we attack it.
The mental communication between Drakein and hybrid was strong enough. Uassae already knew Lanzecki had Erionda's sword on him. Though from what he sensed Lanzecki had fallen behind in the rush and was now trapped on the other side. Causing Rio distress. Turning to face the danger he perceived Uassae's head lowered threateningly. A snarl ripped from him opening into a loud barked warning.
Simultaneously, Erionda and Uassae kicked up dust as they shoved forward. Flinging out one hand a large ice spike flew forward towards the 'creature's head. Her body coming to a stop beside the hybrid her fists rushing forward to connect with it's face.

Eanah
It took a long time for those fighting around her to notice that something was wrong. Eanah stood as straight as she could, but her lack of height prevented her from seeing much of anything until she had moved closer. Even then, the dying Dovaa girl and the monster were little more than dolls in the distance, one bleeding a bit more than it should have.
"What is that?" she muttered, not expecting an answer.
"Something dangerous, girl." The well-muscled Oblivionite who addressed her motioned her closer, but she shook her head and inched nearer to Thren.
"I can take care of myself."

Elleth
"No it's really not a good place nor time to get acquainted." Elleth agreed, hands folding over her stomach. "But you have gotten taller, has that much time really gone by?" She mused out loud, "I would ask what you've been up to and how your training has gone, but I'm sure I'll get to see your abilities first hand when we get sent out into the fray." Her lips twisted into a grimace before she forced the expression from her face. "So, whom might you be? I'm Elleth of the Warrior caste." She asked, turning her gaze towards Eku.
-----------
Nakre
His circle lead him over the three camps many times, each pass made the camps look more and more like a busy little ant hills. The Dovaa camp in particular looked as if someone had stuck a stick in it and stirred. He could hear screams rising from that direction, yet he wasn't close enough to tell if someone had been seriously injured or killed. Grumbling to himself Nakre closed his wings and let himself free fall, carefully watching the ground as it rose rapidly. His species wasn't built for the aerodynamic stunts he put himself through, but it was pain well earned in his opinion.
Nakre snapped his wings out, ignoring the flare of pain as his muscles strained to slow his descent, and it was with relief that he sunk his claws into the sandy earth and half hopped, half skidded to a halt. He was within sight of the camp now, but not so close as to be counted a part of whatever chaos had just happened. And what chaos it was. There was a creature that at first glance seemed to be a hybrid. But it was all wrong, it had Drakein claws and dark skin with the tiny feathered wings he'd seen only on Orderites.
Seeing such an abomination made his teeth ache and the healer portion of him bugle in rage. To pervert the body so-! He snarled and slunk closer, he needed to see this creature up close, to see what it could do, to see if there were more like it. But at the same time he knew he wasn't capable of fighting should it come down to it, and Nakre wanted as much space to flee as possible.

Ekundayo
It was a good thing that Eku didn't hear the complete question about his stitches. By now it was really annoying to explain how he got them in the first place as it struck a bad nerve to him. How could he explain? His parents wanted their son to become a more 'sharpen tool' for the Oblivionite through a blood magic ritual which killed his mother in his birthing. Yeah, that sounded like a nice conversation. So with the new arrival of what seemed to be the warrior's acquaintance came at a good timing to him who's named is Elleth.
He was silent as the two caught up for his hollowed eyes looked over at one of the camps when he heard some sort of commotion. And then the very faint scent of blood lingering in the air . . . something happened. As a mage who tempted in the magic arts of blood, he became so sensitive to the very scent of it that it was almost scary for it set his body so stiff; aching almost. This has made Vilzun worried as he nipped at his pant leg and gave him a little tug to get his attention away from the Dovaa camp and just in time to hear the female warrior's question. A grin of a smile was seen upon his face as he learned about her name. "I be Ekundayo Okoro of de mage, but ya can call me Eku. And dis here be me Drakein, Vilzun." He introduced Vilzun to her as well which made the Keindred happy. If Eku didn't introduce him to other then he will have to face consequences of being bitten in front of them and that is not lovely to see at all.
But then his attention was turned towards the Dovaa camp once again and his focus stayed there as he spoke to Kilian and Elleth. "What ya two think happened dere now?" It sounded as though something has seriously gone wrong that surprised them.

Kilian Kilian nodded gravely. This was neither the place nor time to catch up. Seeing Elleth after so long had just surprised him. "We'll have to catch up after this." He said, hoping that they would both be left standing to actually get a chance to catch up.
Kilian's attention was distracted by Eku and the noises coming from another camp. His eyes widened as the screams grew louder. "Is that...the Dovaa camp?" Kilian asked Eku. His fists clenched at his side, Kilian went to take a step forward but stopped himself. He looked back over at Elleth and inclined his head. "I'm sorry. I've got to go Elleth. Stay safe." With that he turned to Eku. "You have reason to be worried to, don't you?" He looked down at Amadia, as I'd to ask if she was alright with what he was about to do. You know I go where you go.. She said.
Kilian nodded firmly. " I don't care if we're suppose to stay here. Chances are...she's there." His words had more than one meaning. Both Eku and him had ones he cared about that we're associated with the Dovaa. He gave Eku one last look before taking off into the desert and into the direction of the Dovaa camp and the screaming coming from that direction. Word Count: 219
