Mercy had been about to defer to Bereck's wisdom and withdraw. The healer was right, it seemed that staying would do nothing to further their cause and would only lead to more pointless arguing. She had actually nodded to the older man and turned to Natai "I think Bereck is right and we should be returning home, I wish you luck in your..." And then she paused as Aerith's ever watchful gaze caught sight of the impending attack. "Aerith!" She screamed, turning to run through the crowd and try to reach her dragon..as futile as a person would be in the midst of fighting dragons.
'Mercy, stay back!' Aerith fussed at her rider, the greens attack, while not fully anticipated was not surprising and the nimble white had clearly seen it coming. Swiftly she turned, putting some space between herself and the younger dragons, not wanting any harm to come to them due to attacks upon her. Her evasive retreat meant that the majority of the green's blow missed, though a claw or two managed to snag hide and tear a gash upon her flank. 'Stop this!' Aerith snarled openly to everyone, both dragon and human present 'There are innocent holders here, the young and old alike!' Still she did not think they would stop and hissing she flared her wings in preparation for avoiding more attacks.
Aerith Defending again Firith HP - 40/40 - (9 -7) = 38/40 Attack - 2d4+1 Accuracy - 6 Defence - 1d6+1 = 7

Acriculeth replied simply before leaping at Aerith. There was no battle cry nor even a flash of red in his eyes yet; there were only the claws, the fangs. A'nos backed off sharply as the dragons clashed, one hand dropping to the knife on his belt. It was a fight then, was it? Very well. Fick swore under his breath and sent out an urgent mental call to his wher. He hadn't wanted this, he really hadn't wanted this but Firith had struck, Ralla held the highest rank and so he saw little choice. Fight, but by all that was good in the world try not to kill. Ficksk ran, ran like the wind! There was fighting, her bondmate could be in danger. She had to save him. [[Characters may already be armed if it makes sense for them to be so. Blunt weapons +2 damage, bladed/sharp +3]]

Pioth - Grappling Acriculeth HP: 65/65 Attack: 1d10 + 3 Accuracy - 6
Miss! ---
No!
Pioth's intent was not to harm, merely to prevent disaster: he lunged after Acriculeth futilely, trying to intercept the bronze's strike before it landed. But having been excluded from Firith and Acriculeth's mental exchange, by the time he realized what was happening he was simply too late to block.
S'dekai had had enough. He had no love for the Trine riders, but he wasn't going to simply sit there like a bump on a log and let things happen around him. He'd done that for four turns. He should have acted long before now.
"We don't need to do this!" he protested to Ralla, turning instinctively to the highest ranked there. "How can we expect to ever negotiate peacefully with any of the weyrs of Pern, if we prove that we're willing to attack unprovoked on neutral ground?"

Ralla attacking Mercy 25/25 1d6+1+3 5+1+3=9 damage
"Peace? Trine is our enemy!" Ralla snarled at S'dekai. "They poisoned our food, killed our people - there is no neutral ground!"
But she'd talked enough, argued enough. It was time to fight, and who better than her former teacher? She drew her knife and lunged for the whiterider, slashing.

Tatath had been sitting close to her green sister when Acriculeth looked their way. Curious, she looked to Firith who gave the command to attack. Focus on the white and the weyrling. Can you handle the white? I will take on the young one. A shame but it must be done.
Acriculeth also attacked. Canoake backed towards A'nos and Ralla. She had not been the strongest of fighters but she knew how to handle her belt knife. Pulling it out, she went on the defensive. Tatath, ask if we should try to grab Natai. Her gold would have to follow then. Ask Firith.
Tatath went after Nimith and relayed the message to both Acriculeth and Firith. Do we attempt this?

Nimith - Attacking Tatath HP: 48/55 Attack: 2d4+1 (weyrling) Accuracy - 6
Miss! ---
They'd both been half-expecting this, but the sudden unprovoked attack - right when it seemed that Trine had been ready to leave without a fight - took C'ross and Nimith by surprise.
A fully-grown adult dragon against a two-week-old infant was the sort of lopsided battle that could only have one outcome. Nimith snarled fiercely and snapped his little jaws at Tatath, but his bugle of challenge turned into a shriek of distress and pain.
"Nimith!" C'ross rushed in without even waiting for the order to attack. His bonded was in danger - no one was going to hold him back!

C'ross - Attacking Canoake HP: 25/25 Attack: 1d6+4 (bladed) Accuracy - 3
6+4 = 10 damage ---
He'd been without a knife during the frantic fight at Malvren. C'ross wasn't the sort of man who made the same mistake twice.
Drawing the blade from its sheath, C'ross lunged forward, his anger and Nimith's pain focusing him sharp as the steel that he held. He wouldn't go after Tatath. He would go after the rider, and force the green to back off or <******** cowards!" C'ross snarled as he closed with Canoake, blade striking with lethal precision. "Pick on someone your own Thread-damned size!"

Banshidheth attacking Cepheith 70/70 1d10+5 3+5=8 damage
A fight it was, then. Unfortunate, but inevitable. As the dragons began to clash, Banshidheth relayed Firith's orders to Anali. The woman's expression held icily calm even as she told her bonded, Do it, then. Don't even give her the chance.
Very well. With quick and quiet efficiency, the pale Queen moved to attack the smaller gold.

Iachixth - Atacking Tatath HP 70/70 4 + 5 = 9
Help! Iachixth cried the word to those in the Hold, human and beast alike the moment Tatath went for Nimith. Natai stumbled back and away from the dragon when she felt Iachixths muscles bunch up. She knew her girl had a defensive side and, for that, Natai darted away to allow her space - and out of as much reach as she could from others.
Iachixth roared and launched herself at Tatath, eyes red and yellow simultaniously. She didn't like to fight! She didn't like it at all and this was her first try but with claws out and teeth gnashing, she tore at the green attacking a baby - her friends baby! You are bad! Stop it, stop it now, or I will rip your throat out by your nose - I said I would!

Natai - Non-Fighter
"I'm not going to Trine," Natai had confirmed before all hell broke loose to Bereck. "It's fine if they think less of me. I don't look too kindly on - What!"
She raised her voice even. Iachixth cried out for help and Natai stumbled back from her angry dragon. She couldn't fight, didn't know how, and all she could hope for were for the Holdfolk to listen to Iachixths plea and Nanas warning. Her things, though... Natai ran to her books and things, shoving them away into her bag while trying to ignore the pain and grief from her bondmate. Iachixth would fight, they would fly if they needed, but she needed these if she wanted to keep her maps, lists, and ideas.

<Get away from her!> Berath let out a bellow worthy of a bronze, and then sprang at the bronze that had just attacked Aerith. It was an ambitious vow but she meant it with all her heart, and would give her life to ensure it if she had to.
...Crap.
"Natai, get out of here!" How many people on his side had fought before? It looked like the weyrling had for one and he knew Rochelle's friend C'tis had but he had no idea about any of the others. He wasn't much of a fighter himself, hadn't been even before he was injured, but at least he was armed and with the element of surprise on that score. How much good would that do in the end?
With nobody attacking him for now Bereck concentrated on his faire, sending Vena to raise the alarm at Trine - she was the smartest - and instructing Sanguine to lead the rest to Natai. Things were looking grim for her future here, there might be things she wanted kept safe.

About time too.
C'tis took his barbed whip from his belt and grinned savagely at the bronze rider who had been doing so much talking. "Fancy a dance, pretty boy?" He'd be a lot less pretty at the end of it if C'tis had anything to do with it. Maybe if they could take this lot prisoner they could force the wherholders' hand and get their people back. It was a slim hope but just now it was all he had.
His lash came around like a striking tunnelsnake, aimed right for the bronze rider's head.

Malcarreth didn't think much of golds, which was exactly why he leapt to the defence of Trine's; he got the chance to sink his claws into one. The tiny blue launched himself into the air as if retreating but once he had gained a dragonlength he turned on a wingtip and plunged again, landing on the wherholder gold's back and clawing at her neck and shoulders. between to your death!>

Firith attacking Aerith 50/50 7+2=9 damage
The Warden snarled in vicious frustration as her opponent avoided the brunt of her attack. Aerith's words went unheeded and unresponded to - Firith merely slashed at her again.
No. Yours should focus on the Trine riders. We will take care of the rogue another day, she answered Tatath.
