She reached down to fuss with Jerry's hair, much like one would pet an annoying little dog.
"Let me help you. Won't you?"

He sighed, content to cuddle, "I like b-bein' drunk. World's easier. Easier. Easier to deal with. But I can't be drunk all the time I'd get sick and dead from Simon and..." He realized he was babbling again, and shifted to look up at her. "You really wanna' help me?"

"Maybe. M'tolerance... toler-ollerance... isn't what it was." He sloshed the bottle. There was only a drizzle left. He sat up to drain it.
