Persephone was not entirely certain how she had ended up in the situation she was currently in. That is, trailing along behind Claire with a slightly bemused expression on her face. This girl had literally picked her out of a crowd. Out of a crowd! And now? They were on some kind of... expedition, to find the inn. She supposed that she didn't really mind. It wasn't like she disliked claire, or wanted to be alone or anything, but it was all a bit jarring. Maybe this was just how people acted in small towns? But, Persephone reminded herself, Claire was not originally from a small town. Or was she? Had she left the island, and was now returning? There was a lot she didn't know about her new "friend", but most of the questions that came to mind she frankly didn't care enough to ask.

She was pleasantly surprised when they actually did find the inn. Admittedly, it wasn't very hard to find, but when Claire had started off in a random direction... Well, at any rate she was glad they had found it.
"Well... that was easy enough" She gave Claire a small smile, dropping her lit cigarette and stamping it out on the ground. "Good fun too, we should do it again sometime." "She pushed open the door and slipped inside, her backpack bumping lightly into the door frame as she passed. It looked like someone had just purchased a room. Hopefully not the last one. It would be just great if the only semblance of anything barely related to a plan that Persephone had had upon reaching the island turned out to be completely worthless. "...Hey, there." She said in a friendly manner, addressing Conor, "Do you think I could get a price on a room?"

John's smile widened as she perked up towards him, especially since it looked like his dad had gone back to drinking and sulking at the ceiling. That meant he had mediated well, right? The customers weren't leaving in a huff because of someone's bad mood and they were still capable of supporting themselves in the end! In truth, he probably didn't do anything at all, but he would have to remind himself that when he wasn't helping a pretty lady to her room. He was quick to turn and start edging towards the stairs, eager to get then alone so they wouldn't have the looming presence of the innkeeper while they chatted.

I think they both sound good. I've never heard of having a different last name just for work, though.” He added curiously before clearing his throat, “I haven't heard of a lot of things, though, so I'm not saying you're lying or anything. Sorry. Uh, where do you work, Ms. Teppins? Or do you want to be called Ms. Singer? Or are you a, uh, Misses..?” He tightened his hold on the suitcases nervously as he took the first step on the stairs, “Sorry. I can hold the bags, though, I'm good at this.” He lifted the suitcases up and gave them a little shake to try to demonstrate that, though.. he hoped that didn't look like he was showing off.

Conor's attention had been placed elsewhere the moment John took the busty broad out of sight. After all, he had alcohol and a very interesting ceiling to look at that didn't allow his thoughts to wander back to things he would much rather not be thinking about at all. He squinted at the lights dotting the ceiling above him as he crinkled his nose in a grimace. ...********, did John grab the light beer? This stuff tasted like s**t. He clenched the can for a moment, debating on throwing it now or waiting until the guy came back down the stairs so he could have a target. Before he could completely list out the pros and cons (mostly pros, since Conor didn't have cons), the door opened. He looked up to spot another pair of girls he hadn't seen before, one of which speaking directly at him. He set his elbow down on the desk loudly and held his head up, leaving the gross excuse for beer alone for now. “Thirty for the night, two hundred for the week. Which d'you and your girlfriend want?” He didn't intend to spit that word out as he looked to the pair, but he sure as hell wasn't going to take the contempt back. They probably deserved it for something.

((I'm gonna assume Claire's with Persephone. ='O ))

Following John she couldn’t help but smile when he asked about her name. “Well I’m definitely not a misses. So Ms.Teppins would be fine if you’re more comfortable with that. Or just Val is fine. And modeling is the job.” She bit her lip and continued to explain, “Valerie Singer just sounds better for that than Valerie Teppins.” Val pulled her jacket back on and pulled it closed when they reached the stairs. Looking up at her bags she saw that the man had decided to show that he had now problem carrying all of them. But Valerie still worried about it. She never asked anyone to help with her bags so it was a bit weird. Maybe she’d bake him something sometime as a thank you. Or not? He was just taking care of a guest at his father’s inn. Maybe she’d figure this out before they got to her room. “If you’re sure you have them then alright. I just don’t like being too much of a bother to people, ya know?”
Val had learned when she lived with her brothers that she preferred to take care of things herself. Especially since she never liked to be looked at as their baby sister who couldn’t do anything. It was annoying title to have and she never wanted to have to depend on them like she did for so many years again. She felt more like a nuisance than a family member then. More so since she went back and forth between them and bothered all of them instead of just bothering one brother. Removing her hands from her jacket she put both her thumbs in her front pockets. “What about you? Do you work here at the inn?”
