Hinote Shin Everyone just needs to keep in mind that the creation of operational gundam class mobile suits would be later in the story. Lets get a few more thoughts on my plot before we move on. You know me, a Jim or Zack type is more than plenty for a positroneidon to roll in these field, i ain't gonna say anythin bout "dibs on this unit !" or sorts before the show really got on the road. So... yeah, i guess chipping off a chunk of the military part from the major story (at least for the earlier parts) like GX's vulture-style bands might be a fresh gig. Provides more freedom for peeps to fly around too. What says ye ? As for trojan, dude, i kinda have an idea for luls. Considering MS Salvaging would surely take some ounce of luck to determine what a salvager gets, i kinda wanted to suggest a dice-based system to determine unit rarity / tier when one salvages, but then again, it might lead to plot armor-ish overpowering and whatnot leaning towards the peeps with good luck... decisions, decisions...

Sounds cool to me. Although, should we distribute era units about? Akin to;
Faction 1: 00 tech
Faction 2: Wing MP tech
Faction 3 UC Federation tech
faction 4 UC Zeon tech
and so on?

I was thinking we could throw out all the super human types and just have one species that is unique to our story. As for faction specific units, if we were producing our own units they would surely be similar by faction but I kinda like what positron said about us practically randomly finding bits and pieces of cross generation tech and melding them into our models. Edit: what does everyone think about mobile suits that don't use gundam universe technology?

Personally, I'm against mixing techs... .but if we can find a way to balance it, sure.
also for non gundam things, we should balance those too

Mixing techs is fine by me, provided we find balance,, but mixing character types( Newtypes, Coordinators, Cybernewtypes, ect...) I'm against. I've had to deal with a lot of bullshit crossings of them before and they've made me walk away from some gundam based things before.
I plan to stick a Kampfer shotgun and a Gouf Hunter's combat knife on a Leo, so my bias is a bit present.
Logically, we're without the technology to advance humanity's abilities, so Cyber-Newtypes, Innovades/Innovators(I haven't watched 00 much, and don't really care to), and that general concept just wouldn't fly very well considering what we have to what those need. Mental conditioning, sure. Fine. It's doable without tech, but altering the human psyche with technology is beyond what we have access to. Also, aren't Newtypes humans born in space? Doesn't seem like that would really be likely considering the setting we're using. If they were born in space, wouldn't that mean they'd probably have access to more advanced tech, thus better mobile suits than what we are going to be using?
I really think that the fine details of our superhuman may need to be ironed out. I am somewhat the type who likes poking holes in things when it can be towards the said item's benefit and I really think this needs a bit of improvement.

No, no they are not always born in space. Notable Newtypes born on Earth: Shagai Frost, Olba Frost, Tiffa, Lalah, Amuro, Paptimus Scirocco, Jamil Neate.

The After War ones, I can see, but I really have doubts about the characters from the original being born on earth. No offence, but I'm quite doubtful of that. I'm extremely cynical in nature. Nothing personal. Show me a source for that, and I'll believe you.

It's more of a fact than an opinion so as much as you disagree its still true. Newtype abilities have always varied on what exactly people would get. I think their telepathy, a known newtype power, shows them to be quite adequate newtypes for the purpose of the discussion of newtypes being born on earth. I'd bet you a large number of newtypes, such as Maria Pure Armonia who could heal entire crowds of people with her power, would be highly unsuited for a piece of technology such as the Flash System.
