"Sure, just follow me." he told Jabir as he lead him down into the garage.

"The platic oil pipe got cut here as I was working with the sidecar, and it seems that the way that the car is built; when I go to make a turn, the car will cut into the the pipe more and more. I don't want to buy a new bike, and this sidecar is the safest there is on the market...so I need some sort of perminant way of sealing up that plastic pipe there." he demonstrated to Jabir, makeing an effort not to get Pyren mixed up within his finger pointing towards different parts of his motorcycle. He hoped that Jabir would know what to do soon, so he could put the little guy to bed; and fix his motorcycle.

The ceilling wasn't high enough for him to walk normally, so he was forced to walk on all fours. Not that it bothered him really, but he had to be extra careful not to knock things down

He took a good look at the pipe Shane mentioned as he did the explanation. He didn't understood exactly how the pipe was affected, but he had a clear idea on how to avoid the problem

He grabbed the pipe with his clawed fingers and focused on the esence of the material. Within few seconds he manipulated it back to its origianal state, adding extra resistance so it wouldn't happen again

"There, that should do it. Manipulated the rubber ofthe pipe as well to prevent future holes"

Shane marveled at Jabir's magical handywork as he anylized the formerly damaged pipe and saw how perfectly it was reconstructed. Shane then began to reach into his coat for some form of payment for Jabir. He noted that based on the magic he'd seen Jabir perform, Jabir was certainly a force to be reckoned with. He figured his venture into the forest would probably have to be held off until he knew more about his current swing of events. That was fine with Shane though, as the forest was the least of his worries. He had a child to look after now, a magical one at that; and he knew it was the best decision to put his own dreams aside and focus on the dreams and future of the sleeping child in his arms.

"Thanks a bunch Jabir" Shane adressed Jabir, giving him one of his many pouches full of money. "I think we'll be fine from here on out." and Shane began to make his way back to the room in the HQ. He made a note to himself now that he'd have to buy baby supplies for the playroom and spare room; especially a crib in the house.

Shane went to the portal and opened the door, focusing his thoughts on the room in the HQ as he stepped through the closet and made his way to Pyren's section of the room. Placeing the sleeping baby's head on the pillow in his crib Shane pulled the blankets overtop of Pyren to keep him cozy.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 31, 2006 8:54 am

Jabir politely refused to take the money "No need for payment, it was just a small mending. Besides Pyren will need it more than I do"

He silently followed Shane back to the HQ, happily getting back up again. Walking on all fours in a confined space was not meant for him

"Well I must get back to my chores. Don't feel afraid to pay me a visit in my office in case you need anything"

With that settled he made his way towards to corridor, closing the door with his tail

Meeting Len

Crow+Len
"Aren't you a little old to be playing with this stuff?"

"Isn't it kinda creepy that your playing with it, too?"

"Point taken."

Crow discreetly discarded the doll whose hair she'd been braiding, looking amused. Lenore was in the middle of a complicated game that involved a toy pirate ship, a couple troll dolls, and a stuffed bat with an eyepatch.

"What is that, anyway?" Crow asked.

Lenore scoffed.

"You wouldn't get it if I told you," she said dismissively. She looked around the large room briefly, wishing for some company other than her mother - adults just didn't understand pirates as much as they should.

Shane+Pyren
Shane and Pyren came into the toy room early that morning. Shane wanted to get a good feel for the HQ, and hopefully find a nice place for Pyren to play that didn't have a basement that was currently undergoing renovation.

Pyren was wide awake as Shane started wandering around the HQ. He was starting to get restless though and started sqirming in Shane's arms, which made Shane quickly poke his head into the toy room in hopes that this would contain something to entertain Pyren.

Shane's guess had been so acurate that it was almost scary to him. It was a room full of toys and brightly coloured wall paintings and other distractable colours.

"Well...this looks promising now doesn't it Pyren?" Shane asked the boy as he placed him down on the floor.

It was more than just promising to Pyren; it was nothing short of being perfect. Not only were there toys everywhere, but there was even another person here too. However, right now Pyren was in the mood to make some noise, so he crawled his way over to the closest musical instrument he could find. He soon layed his eyes upon a simple finger xilophone which he began to mash the keys of and attempt to sing along with the notes he was playing.

Crow+Len
"Huh?"

Her game disrupted by the unexpected noise, Len glanced over at the source.

"Oh. Baby."

Abandoning the toys to investigate, she sat down next to the little critter and watched him play.

"My name's Lenore, what's yours?"

Crow looked over at the source of the noise as well, charmed. Lenore had never done stuff like that when she was a baby... Getting up, she grinned at the new guy and stuck out her hand.

"Hey! New guardian, huh? My name's Crow. Nice to meet you," she said.

Shane+Pyren
Pyren looked up from his 'music' and into the face of an older girl with interesting looking wings. Pyren hadn't been asked his name before, so it took him a while to get the word out properly.

"Pyen!" was what he finally managed to blurt out loudly, before he started playing his song again and singing to made up lyrics that had no rhyem or sense to them except for the fact that the words 'Pyen', 'Nor' and 'Daddy' were always mixed in with some random animals and their corosponding noises.

Shane politely shook Crow's hand and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm new here." he admited with a bit of a blush, "Nice to meet you too Crow, my name's Shane." he said and looked over to where Lenore and Pyren were playing. Lenore was clearly older than Pyren, and Crow was clearly younger than Shane. Yet, it seemed that Crow wasn't doing a bad job of raising Lenore at all, no matter how young she was. He wondered for a second, and then came upon the question that was bugging him ever since he saw the first sentinel's eyes glow.

"So...how did you get her anyways?" he wondered, motioning over to Lenore, hoping to find some security in her story.

Crow+Len
"Pyen? That's nice." Len said over the din. Quieting down so that she wouldn't interrupt the music, she continued to watch the baby play. She hummed a bit in tune with the song (in the few parts she could follow), and soon started singing along with him.

Caught a bit off guard by the sudden question, Crow smiled at the memory.

"I was looking for a coffee shop, actually," she said. "I go in, see the cat-thing, cat-thing starts glowing, and all of a sudden, poof! I get a baby."

She laughed, shaking her head slightly.

"She'd only been there a couple days - the witch who made her dumped her there out on the sidewalk. Didn't even bother to bring her inside." Crow added, the smile fading slightly at the thought and her expression tightening. Shaking herself back into the present, she grinned at Shane again.

"What about you? Didja make him or adopt him?"

Shane+Pyren
Shane was relived at the fact that he wasn't the only one that had unexpectidly got a baby out of his experiance. He actually chuckled a little at the fact that Crow didn't even know it was a potion shop.

At Crow's question though, Shane had to shake his head, still smiling however.
"No I didn't make him; but I know so little about magic that I very well could have. I basically went in there to look for a quick fix for my bike, and came out with him too."
Shane looked again over at Pryen and Lenore.

"I don't know his story however, but I very well intend to find out." he thought aloud, suposing Jabir would probably know the details. "I only got him about two days ago really, and already he's started to acknowledge his name and me being his father."

Pyren giggled that Len was following his music, so he played it louder until, finally he stopped on a note that didn't really seem to be the right note to stop on. Pyren was in the mood to share though, so he pushed the toy xilaphone over to Lennore.

"You pway!" he demanded to Len, anxiouse to see an older person play a song

Crow+Len
Len smiled slightly at the order.

"If you insist," she said. Pulling the xylophone over, she ran a finger over the colorful metal bars before starting to plink out a tune. The notes were careful and deliberate, and grew louder as she got used to the new instrument.

Crow nodded, glancing sidelong at Lenore and her little companion.

"I know about as much magic as a wet paper bag," she said. "No wonder I was oblivious when I went into the shop."

She looked at the little boy in interest.

"Huh. He's a cutie - kinda reminds me of a robot, though. What's he made from?"

Shane+Pyren
Shane was even more relived that Crow knew even less about magic than he did, that he found himself colapsing to the floor in releif, almost forgetting to catch himself.

"Whew!" he exclaimed "That's good to hear then. I was so worried that there had been some kind of mistake when they gave him to me." he said, starting to laugh a bit "Now at least I feel better, looking at how well you seem to have raised Lenore, knowing that magic isn't a requirement."

Shane looked over now to watch Pyren and Lenore playing together.

"Yeah, Jabir said Pyren had been made from an MP3 player. Now, this is comming from me, but doesn't that strike you as well as being a little odd?" he asked, hopeing to possibly gain more speculation of who Pyren's creator really was.

Pyren began to clap along with Len's tune as Lenore became more and more confident with the instrument. He eventually got to the point where he tried to put his own lyrics overtop of what Len was playing. The lyrics sounded exactly the same as the previouse ones he used, and his singing was completely off pitch, but it didn't matter to Pyren; he was having too much fun.

Crow+Len
Lenore kept the tune going as the baby added in. Humming along, she soon lapsed into song again herself.

"An MP3 player? How freakin' cool is that..." Crow said, eyeing the boy's strange features with interest. "Eh, to be honest, I've seen stranger. There's a little girl here that has a teacup attached to her, and there's a boy with a tyrannosaur sticking out of the back of his head. An MP3-player baby isn't that odd."

Her gaze shifted over to Lenore, who was in the middle of performing for the boy.

"Len's got a hanged man's skull to make her bones. I mean, c'mon. Neat, but kinda morbid. Witches an' all of those spellcaster types use weird ingredients."

Shane+Pyren
Pyren began to laugh with glee at Lenore's song. He found it to be much better than the song he made. Alot of the words Lenore was singing he couldn't pronounce yet so when she started singing again, he reduced his participation to clapping and making incomprehensible baby sounds.

Shane pictured the other two Mishaps that Crow mentioned and suddenly didn't find Pyren's MP3 player to be as suspicouse; especially when it came to the girl with the teacup.

When Crow mentioned that Lenore had a hanged man's skull in her, he vaguely wondered if the componants in the Mishaps had any effect on their personality; and if they did, what would a hanged man's skull say about Lenore. He decided to voice this question, after letting it sit in his mind for a while, but just worded simply as

"Does she know?"

Crow+Len
"-But an eerie tale to tell, ay at the end of seven years we pay a tiend to Hell-" Len sang, smiling at the baby. Adjusting the tinkling melody on the xylophone to keep up with his clapping, she kept singing. She liked to sing anyway- it wasn't every day that she did duets.

Crow shrugged, shaking her head.

"Never brought it up. Some ingredients affect 'em more than others - I mean, she's got those wings, that's from the knife that was thrown in. She's a sweet kid. Kinda dark and serious, but wouldn't hurt a fly on purpose." She said to Shane. "But they're all unique - who knows what'll happen with her, who know's what'll happen with him."

Shane+Pyren
Shane nodded, finally understanding that the Mishaps really weren't any different from normal humans. In apperance and ability, sure, they had their unique traits; but so did everything else in the world. Shane came to the conclusion that he'd just have to be a good guardian, and guide Pyren in the right direction, and as he looked over at both him and Len, he figured that it wouldn't be too hard.

Shane looked over to Crow and chuckled

"They seem to get along well don't they?" he asked, as he began to walk over to the two Mishaps.

Pyren's voice was getting tired from all the singing, so he reduced his musical participation to just clapping now, but even now his arms were getting a little tired. When Pyren noticed Shane getting closer to him, he looked up and pointed to Lenore and said.

"Daddy! Nor pway!" he announced to Shane

Shane smiled to Pryen and Lenore

"Looks like you have a fan Len." he said listning to Lenore's tune, which he had to admit wasn't that bad.

Crow+Len
"She's good with young kids most of the time," Crow said, following Shane.

Len paused her playing and looked up at Shane.

"He likes music. I like him." She said clearly.

"Len, introduce yourself."

Len stood and curtsied, looking very serious.

"My name's Lenore. Nice to meet you," she said, before plunking back down to the floor and pulling the xylophone towards her again. Restarting her song, she frowned as she tried to remember the notes and started plinking them out again.

Shane+Pyren
"Nice to meet you Lenore." Shane replyed "And he certainly does enjoy music.

Pyren's brain made a quick connection there and he spoke again.

"Nore zic good!" he complimented Len as she began to play again and he tried and failed to sing along with her words for the second time.

When Pyren noticed that Lenore was having trouble remembering her notes though, he crawled himself over to the xilophone, and miraculously tapped the right note.

Shane was immediatly taken aback by Pyren's accurate music playback of Lenore's small tune, that for a moment he just stared in wonder at the boy

Crow+Len
Lenore looked on in approval, nodding.

"Oh yeah, that's how it went. Thanks." She said, mimicking the pattern the boy had played. "Ah, there we go."

Crow looked slightly startled.

"Did he just...?"

Shane+Pyren
Pyren took no notice as his perfect playback of Lenore's song and began to try and sing with her again, this time however he propped himself against Lenore's leg because he was getting a little tired and hungry.

Shane shifted his glance from Pyren to Crow then back to Pyren and shook the inquisitive look off his face. Pyren was having too much fun for Shane to interupt Lenore's song to really test Pyren's playback skills. Instead, Shane shrugged and sat down to hear the rest of Len's song before he figured he'd venture off in search for food for Pyren.

Crow+Len
The song stretched on for five more minutes, with Len taking a bit of artistic license and pounding at the xylophone like it was a baby grand piano. Her voice was a little rough on some of the higher notes, but it still made for a grand effect.

As her voice died down to a whisper along with a faint tinkling of the metal xylophone keys, she pushed the instrument away and sighed in contentment.

"That was fun, huh?" She asked Pyren, grinning.

Crow clapped for her daughter, pleased at the performance.

"Nice, Len. Very nice."

Shane+Pyren
Pyren clapped along with Crow and Shane, not really knowing what he was clapping for. He then tried to echo along with what Crow was saying.

"Nery ice! Nery ice!" Pyren complimented, turning to face Len. He then let out a little little yawn and felt his stomache growl so he started calling for Shane.

Shane also applauded Lenore's performance, amazed that such a unique melody could be pulled out of a single major scale.

Shane then found Pyren crawling over to Shane, calling him for something.

"What is it Pyren?" he asked picking the boy up.

Crow+Len
"He sounds hungry," Len said, getting up.

Crow smiled at Pyren, then at Shane.

"We have to get going anyway. It was very nice meeting you," She said.

Len, scooting over to her pile of toys and throwing them unceremoniously back into the toy box, waved goodbye to Pyren with a pleased smile.

"See you again soon, I hope," she chirped.

Shane+Pyren
Shane looked at Pyren and then heard his stomache growl. Pyren had a very irritated look on his face, and he almost seemed like he was about to cry too.

"Oh you're hungry are you?" Shane said, trying to cheer Pyren up, and paying attention to Lenore at the same time.

This acknowledgement didn't seem to help Pyren's situation at all, so he started to sob a little bit.

Shane gave a bit of a sheepish look to Pyren and Crow before nodding his head.

"Yeah, I think it'd be best if we went too." he said "We'll definatly see each other soon! I think Pyren had alot of fun today. Bye!" Shane laughed at the end of this sentance, as Pyren squirmed in his arms in an attempt to nudge Shane towards the exit of the toy room.

As soon as Pyren was certain that Shane had begun moving out of the toy room; he let out a farewell

"'Nore!" he chirped loudly as they made their way off towards, what Shane hoped would be the kitchen.

Pyren Gets Sick

Shane bolted downstairs from the inner garden into Pyren's room. He knew what was wrong because Jabir explained it to him, but he hoped that it would never happen.

Just a few moments ago, Pyren had fallen into some water and suddenly started getting really sick. Shane was beginning to be so much afraid as to think that he may die. He couldn't go to Jabir though...not at this hour. He was going to try something himself first.

"Hang in there Pyren, we're almost home." he said to the unconciouse boy as he put the room key in the lock and twisted it. As soon as the door became unlocked, Shane bolted inside without a thought to close it and grabbed Pyren's musical blanket and wrapped him up in that and his shirt.

While doing this, Shane quickly strode over to the radiator in Pyren's room and tried his best to rub the boy dry of any possible water. Shane looked at Pyren, and noticed that his eyes were now a pale grey. He was still breathing, but his body was still very damp and cold.

"Come on Pyren, wake up!" Shane pleaded desprately to the boy as he pulled Pyren closer to him to give him more of his body heat.

Slowly but surely, Pyren's eyes began to turn from the granite grey color, to a very pale orange. He was shivering, had an upset stomache, and could barely see, but he was awake.

The first thing Pyren did was vomit, and then he began cry and try to reach out for wherever Shane was.

Shane was so happy that Pyren was awake that he almost cried. He held back a tear just in case it landed on Pyren and made him sick too. Shane held out his hand for Pyren to hold onto, which the boy did and he suddenly calmed down a little bit. He didn't mind the vomit on his shirt because it could be washed, and the little bit that was on the blanket didn't bother him either. The blanket was alot warmer than his shirt anyways.

When Shane saw that the color was returning to Pyren's eyes even more now, Shane started talking to him and making sure he was okay.

Pyren was now able to make out vague shapes in the room, but it was like the world was being sent to him over a bad reception and the world was covered in a multicoloured fog. He was able to make out Shane's face though and hear what he was saying; though he could vaguely remember it all.

When Shane began to speak to him, Pyren spoke back; but his voice was very distorted and every so often, his nonsense words would come out in reverse, faster, or slower, than he intended.

Shane decided it would be best to get an accurate measurement of Pyren's temperature, so he brought Pyren over to the kitchen and opened the First Aid kit and took out the thermometer and placed it under Pyren's arm. He didn't want to take a chance that Pyren would accidentally swallow the thermomiter, and he knew that his underarm was the next best place.

A few minutes later Shane took it out from under Pyren's arm to find that the boy's temperature was still pretty high, so Shane pulled out some liquid medicine from the First Aid kit and put it on a spoon for Pyren to take.

Pyren was very cooperative during all of this. He trusted Shane now to look after him after all that had happend today. While he waited with the thermometer in his underarm, Pyren snuggled up close to Shane for warmth, and to show him love.

When Shane pulled out the medicine however, and Pyren's nose got a whiff of it, the boy began to protest loudly.

"It'll make you feel better Pyren. Just swallow it fast and it'll be all gone." Shane pleaded, trying to convince the boy.

A few minutes later, Pyren eventually gave in. The medicine dind't taste as bad as it smelled, but it was no candy. Pyren gave a loud cough and gag of disgust after swallowing the horrid liquid.

"There's a good boy!" Shane praised Pyren "No more!"

Pyren was glad that he wouldn't have to endure another spoonfull of that horrid medicine. However, as the medicine worked its way though his system, it made Pyren very tired and he let out a slightly less distorted yawn.

Shane got the hint from the huge yawn Pyren let out.

"Okay, time for bed Pyren." Shane said as he brought Pyren back into his room and changed him out of his old cloths and diapers into new fresh ones and pyjamas and lowered Pyren into his crib and tucked him in.

Pyren was tired, but he wasn't exausted to the ponit of wanting to go to sleep alone. He was still a little frazzled and shivvering and wanted Shane to stay by him.

Shane got the message from Pyren, but he got an idea and left Pyren's sight for just a second to quickly walk over to the bookshelf in the room and grab the story of Tom Thumb, which he found to be very fitting to Pyren's current predicament.

Pyren listend as best as he could and silently looked at the pictuers through the crib bars as Shane read, ever so close to the crib the story of the small and brave boy known as Tom Thumb.

Pyren learned how he'd been given to the peasent husband and wife as a gift from Merlin and the Queen of the Faries. How he'd fallen into a bowl of pudding and almost been sold to another peasent. How he'd drove a horse home by whispering in the horse's ear, and eaten a blackberry tart in his little house, which was the size of a doll house, but big enough for him.

However, one day Tom tried to drive a cow home, but was knocked into a ditch where a hawk, thinking he was a mouse, picked him up and dragged him over the ocean, in an attempt to bring him to his nest for dinner. However, Tom dropped from the hawk's talons over the sea, and was eaten by a fish, that was soon caught and delivered as dinner to King Arthur.

However, Tom was spared by the cook who cut open the fish when he saw Tom pop out of the fish.

At this point, Pyren was starting to doze off; but the fish imagery was a little disturbing to him because he'd just recently enountered some recently. Pyren made a small protest against Arthur's cook, but allowed Shane to continue the story anyways.

Pyren learned how the cook had presented Tom to the Arthur, and Tom soon became a royal guest of Arthur. Tomwas given a suit for his size, a needle as a sword, and a mouse as a steed.

The king and queen never tired of seeing him ride his queer little horse and bravely wave his sword.

One day, as they were going hunting, a cat jumped out and caught Tom's mouse. Tom drew his sword and tried to drive the cat away.

The king ran to help poor Tom, and the cat ran away. Tom was scratched and bitten.

Tom was put to bed, but he did not die. He was soon well again, and fought many brave battles and did many brave deeds in the name of the good King Arthur.

After Shane was finished the story, he closed the book silently and watched amused how Pyren drifted into a deep sleep as soon as the tale was done.

Shane then shelved the book and made his way back to Pyren's crib and kept an eye one him, sining a soft song to him as he slept.

Retta and Pyren's first encounter

Summary: Thanks to Retta, Pyren got over his illness alot faster than expected. Shane promised Retta a favor because of this.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 3:54 pm

Meeting the neighbours

Shane woke up around noontime. After last nights events, Shane had worn Pyren out enough to get him to go back to sleep; and soon after, Shane spent a very restful night in the Mishap HQ. Going from his bed, Shane checked in on Pyren in his crib, to find him starting to stir. Shane nudged the little boy awake.

"Hey there Pyren. Time to get up." he whispered sweetly

Pyren groaned and opened his eyes briefly to look up at Shane before stretching and closing his eyes again.

Shane sighed and picked Pyren out of his crib and brought him over to the changing table to get him dressed for the day. After changing his diaper, Shane pulled out a white and blue striped shirt and a pair of the same color blue track pants which he put over the boy. Shane then served him and Pyren breakfast and thought about what to do that day as they ate.

Pyren was still barely awake after getting dressed, and he yawned a good eight times through the whole ritual. However after having food in his stomache, Pyren's energy seemed to kick back in full gear and he started to sing and bang his hands on his high-chair as he waited for Shane to finish with his breakfast too

After he'd finished cleaning up the dishes, and Pyren, Shane figured that the best way to explore the HQ would be to check the map. When he picked it up though, Shane noticed a room that hadn't been there before. The word had just seemed to have appeared there by magic, right next to this room. It read "Delphine's Room".

"Well, it seems we have some neighbours!" Shane exclaimed, turning to Pyren "Want to go and say hi?"

It was a retorical question, and he didn't expect Pyren to really understand what he was saying anyways, so Shane made the decision for him by picking Pyren up and heading out into the second floor hallway, brining the map and locking the door behind him.

Shane barley walked five paces before he reached the door to Delphine's room and gave it a friendly knock, wondering who Delphine could possibly be.

Kay at that moment, was lying on the livingroom floor with Delphine and a bunch of toys. She rolled a large bouncy ball across the floor to the fish-kitty, who promptly ignored it and picked up a fish sponge that had somehow made it's way from the bathroom instead.
She gave a sigh and was about to put the toy back where it belonged when a knock at the door startled her.

Delphine looked up, sponge half in her mouth, intrigued by this new event. Who was making that tapping noise?

The guardian picked herself off the floor with a groan and wandered over to the door, slightly puzzled at who it might be. Was it one of other guardians she'd met? With a shrug she opened the door wide.

Delphine rolled over on the floor to get a look through the now open door. All she could see from her position were legs. With a huff she crawled towards the door, determined to find out who was causing such a fuss.

"Um, Hello." Kay greeted the man standing on her doorway, still slightly confused, until she took in the blue boy in his arms. "Oh!" she exclaimed as she clapped her hands together, and then blushed slightly at her outburst.
"Sorry, I was confused for a minute there. You must be a Guardian too right?"

Delphine at this point had crawled up behind Kay and peeped out from behind her legs. Tall person... and a blue thing. Was it someone to play with? She dropped the sponge from her mouth and waved at him. "Bah!?"

"I'm Kay and this is Delphi. We're kind of new here." She smiled, "Would you like to come in....um...?"
PostPosted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 6:58 pm

Shane laughed out loud at Kay's confusion and explained himself.

"I'm Shane, and this is Pyren." he said motioning to himself and the boy he held in his arms. "And don't worry, I'm new here too. I just saw your name appear on the map recently and noticed that we were neighbours so I figured I'd come in and say hello!"

Pyren caught sight of Delphine and, although he shyed away from her at first into Shane's arm; as Pyren began to become comfortable with Delphine's presance, he started to wiggle and try to signal to Shane he wanted to be put down.
"Thank you, I think I will come in miss Kay."

Shane took a step inside the room and put Pyren on the ground to play with Delphi.

"Now behave yourself okay?" he ordered the boy as he looked about the room, ready to follow Kay about if she wanted to show him around. "This is a really nice place. Jabir told me that apparantly each room is made to look like whatever you wanted it to. You seem to have done a good job with it." he complimented Kay

Pyren crawled over to Delphine and examined her closely before reaching out and poking the spikes on her arm, wondering what they were.

"Nice to meet you Shane, Pyren. I had no idea the map could do that!" She stood aside so they could enter. "I'll be sure to keep an eye on it in future, it'll be handy to know when someone even newer than me arrives!" She grinned.
Kay rubbed the back of her neck slightly embarassed as Shane complimented the room, it was somewhat less than it's usual creepily tidy self this morning as Delphine's toys littered the rug from their earlier play. "Well I read alot of interior design mags, so maybe it picked up on that."

As Pyren was studying her, Delphine was studying Pyren just as intently. Were those things on the side of his head spiney fins like hers? She was just about to reach out and touch them when Pyren reached out and poked her.

Kay tried to surreptitiously nudge aside some of the toys with a foot. "Would you like something to drink? Or maybe a tour?" It had been forever since she'd had to entertain someone in her own home, but that sounded pretty much the right thing to do.

Delphi scrunched up her kitty-nose as Pyren poked her. Well that wasn't fair! If he was going to poke her like that, then she'd just do it straight back. "Po!" she pestered poking Pyren back on the arm, "Po!", another poke to the leg. There! She sat back and swished her tail. They were even now.

Shane looked about the room now and felt a little bad for not bringing a housewarming gift or something; but he didn't bring it up because it seemed that Seer didn't mind [or notice] at all. Shane thought a bit about the option of getting a tour of Delphi's room, but decided that just talking with Seer would probably be the most enjoyable this early in the morning.

"A drink would be nice, thank you." Shane requested politely, also figureing that he'd be able to take a look around the room while following Seer around the room.

Pyren was about to complain when Delphi poked him hard on the arm, but then giggles when he was poked on the leg. Pyren was pretty ticklish on certain parts of his body and Delphi had just finished poking one of them. He started laughing almost uncontrolably until he rolled over onto his side still giggling slightly. When Pyren got controll of himself, the boy got up and noticed all the toys that were lying about the place. After the last laughing fit, Pyren decided that poking Delphi wasn't the best idea anymore. Instead, Pyren tried to make his way over to where Delphie's ball was lying about and play with that instead.

"Play nice you." Kay called to Delphi as she led Shane into the tiny kitchen with its definate retro feel. "Something hot, cold?" she asked and glanced at the clock, (a classic atomic look one) as she made her way to the small fridge.
"It's almost time for Delphi's snack, would Pyren like something too?" she asked pulling out a bottle of juice and placing it on the counter and then turning back to rummage through a draw for one of Delphi's bottles.

Delphine watched in amusment as Pyren rolled over with laughter. Copying him she flopped back onto the floor and watched her Mum wander into the kitchen. Her tail swished happily, that meant snacktime was soon! As Pyren got up so did she.
Delphi crawled after Pyren as she noticed he was after the ball. She wasn't to sure of this, one one hand she didn't particulary like the big round bouncy thing, but on the other hand it was hers.

Kay now had two baby bottles, some juice and a bowl of fruit squeezed onto the bench. With a sigh she pulled a can of tuna from the pantry and gave Shane a wry smile. "Delphi loves fish, but I don't know how good it is for a baby, so she only gets it as a treat now when she's been good and eaten all her food." She peeked around to look at the babies.
"Pyren seems so sweet. Have you had any troubles with him?" she asked trying to make conversation. "Delphi just seems to attract it." she said as she started filling the bottles with juice. "Tried to eat the pet fish, fallen in a fountain. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when she can walk."

Delphi meanwhile decided that Pyren could have the ball, but she'd stop him from having any of her favourite toys. A small pile holding her sheepy, Roo and some assorted bath toys that always seemed to escape into the lounge were slowly being piled up as she crawled back and forth around the lounge room.
