Ticket, please! Username: Milady Emerald Foal's Intended Name: Braith Why this name? Because it means "Diversely Colored* in Welsh, and I like the slightly rakish sound of it. It is also a throwback to his Mother in a way- as Braith is a name especially given to those that are Black and White. Personality: Young, Rakish and rougish. Likes to stir up a little bit of trouble but tries not to cross the line. His creativity seems to come out in Pranks, though he loves to watch his Dad paint. I'll Tell You Something! Username: LydaLynn Poem/Story Title: My World Smiling to himself, Anthymos gathered a few strongly scented gardenias from a bush. They were more powerful than anything he would use alone, but they paired nicely with honeysuckle and mint. Anthymos knew his inability to see all the colors the others saw upset his father. But Anthymos didn't see it as a failing by his parents or as anything to really be upset about. The world wasn't any different now that he knew he wasn't seeing the way they saw than it was before. And there was still so much beauty and wonder to behold. Maybe he wasn't any good at making a picture on a canvas, but he would show his father he could still create art.
Of course, his mother got credit for Anthymos' love of flowers, and his discovery of the mixing of scents. He couldn't remember a time when any of the family didn't have at least some flowers draped about them. The petals were soft and the shapes pleasing. But when he was careful, Anthymos could roll a petal between a rock and his hoof and crush it. It took a long time to crush enough petals to get the oil out. But mixing those oils, he could paint whole seasons with scent. Evergreens didn't produce much oil, but they and holly could wreath a person in the smell of winter, though a snowless winter, Anthymos was still working on the crispness of snow. Dandelions and tulips and dogwood made spring live, while roses and chrysanthemums and green grass painted summer. Fall was blackberries and acorns and pumpkin.
Anthymos might not see the vibrant flame his siblings talked of in autumn trees, but he lived every moment filled with the wonder of a world rich in scent and texture. A roll in crisp leaves or the taste of the first green sprigs of spring, the smell of roses and the touch of snowflakes. His world wasn't lacking. And if he could just create art to show his father that . . . Anthymos knew it would make things better. He didn't blame his parents that he couldn't see all the colors, he just didn't want them blaming themselves either. He wanted to show them, to thank them for opening his eyes to all the beauty of the world. And this, these flowers, leaves, berries . . . they would be the way he showed them, showed the world, the beauty he experienced every day.

Ticket, please! Username: NinebB0nesFr33d Foal's Intended Name: Arturas Why this name? This is the Lithuanian spelling of the famous King Arthur. It was chosen carefully for this story telling youth who would rather spend his days listening to and telling stories of great figures of the past and present. Personality:
Arturas is not shy, but he lacks charm. His awkward speech seems to smooth out while he tells wild stories. He finds it nearly impossible to carry out a normal conversation without telling his companions about the legends, horror and romance stories he's picked up. There is an endearing aspect to his devotion to the stories. If he were to be able to put his feelings into words, he'd tell you that he loves stories because he's fascinated by everyone.
While he enjoys the verbal and imaginative aspects of stories, he longs to someday be the hero in one of the stories. In his first years he'd be seen marching through his family's meadow pretending he's a fantastical king of ancient lore or the prince who would dash into the flames of danger for a single kiss (the damsel always played by his momma).
While his heart belongs fully to his family. He understands or rather hopes that someday he'll have to do something brave for them. He second guesses his courage and relies heavily on the strength of his father and his other brother.

He's content with his own company wherever he wanders, but has a special place in his heart for his family. No matter how far he goes seeking wonders of nature to grace his eyes and warm his heart, he'll always find his way back to the flowery meadow where he belongs. Ticket, please! Username: Kyrieko Foal's Intended Name: Chroma Why this name? 'Chroma' refers to the intensity of a distinctive hue or the saturation of a color. Personality: A very playful and free spirit, Chroma adores brightly colored fauna that he can decorate either himself, his siblings, or even his mother with. It is his belief that having such magnificently bright colors on you, the sweet fragrance of the fauna wafting about your body, will allow you to relax and feel free. That's what he's discovered at the very least, so why shouldn't this be true of everyone else?! Although if you're allergic to flowers, this might cause some inconveniences... But he will find a way around this! Oh yes he will! He'll just have to get a little creative. But don't worry! You will feel free and have bright colors too! For if there is one thing aside from his playful nature that is a close second in how prominent it is, that would be Chroma's love of creative problem solving. He views problems like a puzzle, working out each piece until they fit beautifully together as a whole. And if he gets stuck, well. This just gives him an excuse to let his imagination soar just a little! For there is always a way to finish the puzzle! You just have to think outside the box! Anything else you would like to include: Such a lovely little family! Thank you for offering this contest! <33

Ticket, please!Username: Lunadriel Foal's Intended Name: Ranunculus Why this name? For my wedding, I had green ranunculus flowers. The beautiful mint green of this basket instantly made me think of this precious flower. I wanted a name that also had meaning directly affiliated with the family. Since they are to be raised in the flower field that their parents have made their home, I thought what better name! Plus, it will tie into his plots. <3 Personality: Ranu will be a budding intellect. His first impression will be that he's shy, like his mother. However, he is normally deep in thought. When something peeks his interest, he will speak and normally shock those around him who thought him to be the shy type. Ranu will also LOVE painting, just like his father. He will study his every inspiration and art piece, in order to create his own style. At the same time, he will enjoy weaving flowers with his mother. He will always tell her how wonderful she smells. Anything else you would like to include: This is the most exciting part! The plot I had in mind for young Ranu. Flowers as Tools: Ranu has grown up living and loving everything his parents have taught him. From the flowers around him, to the expression of art done by his father. As he grows to learn more about the texture and types of art, he will one day have an epiphany. Why should his love of art, and his love of flowers, be two separate things? Taking a flower and plucking it from the ground, he will use it to paint. It will be a momentous discovery, as he plucks different flowers, to learn the strokes and textures they create! This, will be when he has discovered his own style in art, taking a little from each parent, to be himself. Ranunculus flowers will be his favorite brush, though he will use many. <33

Small description/summary: This is a wreath made out of fresh Gypsophila flowers, or baby's breath. Granted it's not woven so feel free not to count it if that had to be something I needed to do, instead it's wire covered in florist tape, which then small bunches of the Gypsophila is taped on to. I've never made anything like this before but I read several blog entries and you tube video's to teach myself how to make this for the contest, I hope you like it. If your interested in making one, let me know and I'll direct you to the video etc which I watched, pretty simple to make and took me about an hour.

Ticket, please! Username: Baby Pandah Foal's Intended Name: Calamint Lilly Why this name? Why I chose Calamint: "This low-growing herb has pleasant mint-scented leaves, and its tiny but profuse white or pale lilac flowers appear in late summer to fall. Calamint loves sunny spots, and although small in stature, it will spread." This name had a certain romantic appeal to me and could easily take on a nickname such as "Cal" or "Mint." It is also a plant/flower name which continues the double flower name, like Jasmine Lilly's name. Why I chose Lilly: His mother's second name is Lilly and I would like to continue that. Personality: Isn't the name Calamint Lilly a little...girly? Yes, and that's because so is this foal. He will have an air of femininity that he cannot suppress or hide even if he wants to. Like his mother being hesitant of being stinky, he will be aware of his girlishness in his adolescent stages. He will go by "Cal" or something he thinks is a little more masculine, but as he grows he will come to accept himself and will own his personality. He will be very artsy like his father, whether that will be painting, singing, or dancing or all of the above we will have to see. :3 Anything else you would like to include: This family is beautiful, thank you for the opportunity. <3

Ticket, please! Username: Junglerunner Foal's Intended Name: Arias Why this name? Samandiriel is of course the Angel of imagination, Arias is the Angel is sweet smelling herbs... seems fitting since I want him to develop his character into a perfumer, plus the fact the families general love of flowers. Personality: Arias is mute, well actually he can speak but it is such a rarity he is generally considered mute. When he does, his voice is shy, meek, feminine and is usually never louder than a whisper. Arias wouldn't hurt a fly and goes out of his way to appease everyone he meets, he is never quick to judge, and even when the world and every one in it seems to have given up hope in someone or something, he seems to find the faith, and grace, to see the beauty in something long been discarded. He is someone that doesn't just give second chances, but third and forth opportunities; it's a sad day with Arias gives up on something or one.
Arias is at peace around his family but is also happy in his own company, he enjoys peace, serenity and nature; rarely will you find him in crowded or largely populated areas. Arias however doesn't simply wander about in search of a peaceful mind, he has a keen sense of smell, and from a young age has taken an interest in anything that can provide a perfume. Later in life, once grown up, he travels the land collecting items: flowers, lichen, moss, foliage, bark etc. and with the help of his human companion, crushes them and blends them to create scented rubs to sell or gift to others.
Anything else you would like to include: Ahhh I saw this recipe and just thought I had to make it for you! It's a rosewater cheesecake, with a pistachio sponge base. Enjoy!

I'll Tell You Something! Username: Cricket2008 Poem/Story Title: "What's that?"
Bounding as high as he could, trying to get all hooves off the ground at once, he felt like he could fly if he tried hard enough. Landing on all fours this time, he stomped his hoof shaking loose some of the flower petals stuck in his coat from previous failed landings. The landing was good, but the ‘flight’ wasn’t long enough, he snorted to himself. Rustlings on the edge of the clearing pulled his attention from his aerial attempts. A quick glance found his mother helping his father mash flowers for their colors. He’d been warned about wandering off without saying something first. Several times. But they were busy and if he asked, they might say no. Ears pricked and nostrils wide, his hooves slowly drew him closer to the edge of the trees. His nose told him something wasn’t quite right, but his curiosity pulled him on. A flicker of movement caught his eye. A snake? It wavered like a snake, but it looked fuzzy. “Armandii!” It was only his name, but his mother’s tone said far more. There was a warning in it that said if he took another step, he’d be restricted to staying at her side again. Maybe longer this time. Sighing, he turned and trotted back his parents. His father was starting to paint something new. With a foal’s short attention span, the ‘snake’ was easily forgotten. Armandii’s new focus was finding out what his father’s paint-splattered hooves were creating.

I'll Tell You Something! Username: Poem/Story Title: Calamint Lilly is a Girl's Name
Calamint Lilly is a girl's name But I can't see why I can't participate in a girl's game
Pretty flowers are a marvelous thing And I can't see why I'm not allowed to sing
The world is a full flower vase But why can't I Bless the flowers with my grace
Gender is a social chain And I understand why But why should everything be plain
Calamint Lilly is my name And if you know why Then I'm sure you feel the same

Ticket, please! Username: ktqueen Foal's Intended Name: Rabi Why this name? Rabi means spring time in Arabic. Considering the color of the family, the basket, and the fact that the mother's name is Jasmine, I felt that a good Middle Eastern name with such a theme would suit the family well. Personality: A well mannered, sweet, responsible sort of lad who maybe doesn't always know how to have fun. He's a little quieter at first, but is talkative enough once you get to know him! A little bit of a stick in the mud, Rabi doesn't like to break the rules very often and takes a little time to get him to do such things. But you won't find a more loyal and sweet lad around than Rabi. Anything else you would like to include: This is such a pretty family! Good luck everyone! <3
