Derek Ballard  Derek was relieved that Katherine saw him and did not go into the town hall. He didn't think that there'd be too much trouble if she'd have asked where his farm was, though he didn't want to risk it. He heard her calling him by his name and he inwardly cringed because he didn't know if there was anyone out, but there didn't seem to be anyone that heard her, which was a huge relief. At the mention of leading her to his farm he motioned for her to follow him and he smiled as he heard that she had brought the peeps for him. He had gotten his chicken coop/animal barn ready for them and he was going to use some of his corn that he had as feed for them. "It's this way. Oh, and Mimi's getting really close to having her kittens. She's getting her little nest box ready and everything, and she looks like a kitty balloon. Haha. They should be born in the next few days and the kitten's will probably be old enough for you to get one in a week or so. I just wonder how many she'll have?" He said as he headed up the road, looking over his shoulder to see if Katherine was coming on Jet.{{ooc: Having the RP time and all based on the game is kind of confusing, but at least things won't drag out forever like it would if it were based on reality lol XD Although we could still do timeskips lol}}

Katharine smiled as she followed Derek. "Well that is good. But I think Mimi would glare at you if she heard you were calling her a balloon. Pregnant females don't like to be called fat." She said giggling. Jet snorted before walking beside Derek. He nuzzled the young man's face before seeing the opening to his farm. Katharine watched as the farm came in to view. "Your farm looks great." She said gasping slipping off Jet to walk around on her own. She took the chick basket in her hands. Jet walked off to eat some of Derek's nice looking grass.

Derek Ballard Derek walked until he saw his farm coming into view. He didn't know what Katherine would think of it, though he hoped that she would like it once she saw it. He heard her mentioning that it was good that Mimi was readying herself for the arrival of her kittens and when he heard her saying that Mimi would glare at him for calling her a balloon he smirked and had to stiffle a chuckle that was threatening to erupt from him. "You're right. I shouldn't have called her a balloon. Though she looks just adorable the way that she waddles around when she walks." he said as he walked. The nuzzle from Jet was unexpected, though Derek did not jump, flinch or anything of the sort; he just kept walking, though he did turn back some to rub the black horse on the nose. As he walked he listened to Katherine complimenting the farm, Derek smiled. He was glad that the farm looked nice, even though he was the only one caring for it since his father passed away. "I'm glad that it looks all right. I haven't been too sure that it looked all right since my father passed away. I know that I till the land, plant the seeds and water them everyday, but sometimes I'm afraid that it may look a bit sloppy since it's only me here. I can tell you it looked much better when my father was running it. But enough about that. You want to meet Mimi? She's inside. Oh, and it's all right if Jet walks around the field, I just hope that he doesn't go eating my crops. I have some hay and things that I was growing for if I ever decided to get a horse, though with my not liking and being somewhat afraid of them before and still kind of am I didn't ever think that I would. Truthfully, it was mostly if I were to ever get another cow." he said as he started walking towards his farm house.{{ooc:}}

Katharine followed Derek with the basket. "Well just do the things I said about raising a cow and you will be fine. But really just see how you fair raising these two before you start on a larger animal." She said. Jet enjoyed the tall grass Derek had on his land. Jet learned from experience to not touch the plants that were in rows. "But really for doing things on your own, your farm is looking great. Now come close, I want to show you the two chicks for you." She said excited to show him.

Derek Ballard Derek nodded to Katherine and agreed that he'd do what he needed to care for the chicks before thinking of getting any larger animals. He knew that he shouldn't just jump right into getting something too big or too high maintenence or he may end up having the same thing happen and he'd need to get rid of that animal as well. He then realised that he'd have to name the chicks, but that wasn't top priority right that second, so he decided that he could do that later. Once he reached the door to his farm house he opened the door and saw that Mimi was sitting at the door, waiting for him to get home and bring her some fish. It had been almost every day that she had been given a little fish mixed in with her food, so she was expectant of it, though this time she was not going to get fresh fish for lunch. Although she'd not really even know the difference if it weren't.
Derek leaned down and then carefully picked up the pregnant silver tabby and turned to Katherine saying, "Here's little Mimi." He nuzzled his face into the cat's face and flank as she purred contently in her owner's arms. "You can pet her, though she won't let anyone other than me hold her. One time I had Hiro come over to visit and Mimi hissed at him when he tried to pick her up, though I'm starting to think that maybe she just doesn't like him. I don't know why, but she doesn't seem to like Ayame either. It may be that she doesn't like doctors or something, probably because they had her caged when they took her to give her a check up when she was little. She doesn't like getting caged. Heh heh..." he said chucling some as he led Katherine to the couch that was in his home and he carefully set Mimi down on one of the plush couch cushions. He then asked if there was anything that Katherine wanted to eat or drink while she was visiting.{{ooc:}}

Katharine giggled, "You should know no animal likes a visit from the vet. With the medicine they work with, it hurts their noses. But sure." She said. She gave the cat a scratch behind the ears before sitting on the couch. She moved the basket to her lap before saying, "If you have some tea, I'd like that but other than that, I'd like to introduce you to your chicks." She said smiling. Katharine slowly lifted the blanket and the two chick cheeped happily at being uncovered. One had a black spot on her head while the other had a white spot.

Derek Ballard Derek smiled as he looked down at the two chicks after hearing that Kathrine would like some tea. He only had some iced tea that he had made and he hoped that would be all right. He was going to get that for Katherine, thoguh he asked her if that would be all right before getting the tea. While he waited for an answer he walked to the couch and looked down at the two small peeping chicks that were in the basket.{{ooc:}}

Katharine smiled before saying, "I would love the iced tea. Now I would like you to know i brought with me five days worth of feed for them. And they are pretty much easy to care for and they are lovable." She said. She put one hand in the basket and one hopped on it. She lifted it out and the chick snuggled in to her hand for him to see.

Derek Ballard As Derek heard that Katherine would like some tea he smiled. He was going to get the tea right away, though he stopped and listened to her saying that she had brought some feed for them for five days and he gave a greatful nod. He hurried to get the tea and when he got back to the living room he was juggling the tea pitcher, two cups and a small saucer with some little pastries. He knew that Katherine had not asked for anything to eat, though he thought that he could bring them out in case she got hungry. he set everything down on the coffee table by the couch before seating himself beside Katherine and the basket. "I know that you didn't ask for anything to eat, though I thought that you may like to try one of these pastries that I made. If not that's all right, though." Waiting for a reply from Katherine he set his right hand down into the basket and grinned when the second chick hopped into his hand and snuggled against his fingers.{{ooc:}}

Katharine nodded taking a sip of the tea before saying, "That's fine with me besides i could use a snack from that ride here on Jet." She said taking one a eating it. She then said, "You did a good job on making it. It's delicious." She gave the chick in her hand another pet before asking, "So what are you going to name them?" She asked placing the one in her hand back into the basket.

Derek Ballard Derek was pleased to hear that Katherine liked his cooking. He lifted the chick up and petted it with his thumb as he heard Katherine saying that he should name them both. "I think that I am going to call this one Jinny and I think that I'll call the other one Mina." he said as he looked to the chicks for their approval. Sure, it was his decision on what to call them, but he wanted to be sure that the chicks would be happy with their new names.{{ooc:}}

The chicks cheeped happily in both of their hands. Katharine giggled as their reactions. "I guess they like the names." She said smiling. She ate another treat. She crumbled one in her hand before letting the chick in her hand some. It happily pecked up the bits of pastries.

Derek Ballard Derek smiled as the two peeps chirped happily after he gave them their names. "I guess that they doo, judging by how they are reacting to them." he said, rubbing the peep in his hand on the head. He noticed that Mimi was eyeing the peeps, though she didn't make any aggressive moves towards them, but rather looked at them as if jealous that they were receiving more attention than her.{{ooc: I'm so, so sorry that I haven't posted on this until now and I'll completely understand if you no longer want to do this RP. I just thought that I would post on it, just in case you did want to ^-^}}

Katharine noticed Derek's cat too. She smiled before saying, "Come on over, Mimi. These guys are your responsibility too. Derek feeds them and you take them out of the chicken coop and protect them from being eaten. She said. The female farmer checked her watch before blinking. "Oh Derek, I have to go. I have to check my plants and animals." she said giving him the other chick. She rushed out of his house before going to Jet. "See ya Derek." She shouted before Jet galloped out.

Derek Ballard Derek rubbed Mim's head before he set the little chick that was in his hand down beside the cat. He thought that she might try hurting them since they were getting more attention than she was, though he knew that she was the type of cat to pick up a mouse and take it to her water dish to drink; so he really wasn't too scared for the chicks. He watched the silver tabby looking at Katherine and then to the chicks, almost smiling as if she liked the thought of having authority over the chicks. He thought that perhaps she'd use them as practice before he own kittens arrived. "All right. I'll see you later, Katherine." he said as he picked up the two peeps, walked to the door and headed out to the chicken coop where he'd be keeping them.{{ooc: Oops... I thought that I posted last on this... I'm so sorry for making you wait so long for me to reply... Hopefully this'll not happen again... >.>}}
