What Rath and Manic said. It was set in medieval time and incest is not weird during that time.
A little off topic, I got a B support of Yarne and Nah where Nah stated that manakete and tanguel are like cousins. I was like, "What? *stares at the two and trying to think logic* ... I don't see how two different races are related... .__.; " Anyone care to explain that? sweatdrop
I don't think this is a spoiler but what the heck..
Well maybe she just meant they're like cousins because they both use stones to transform into a powerful creature. So society may look at them similarly. Also, as shown above, the word "cousins" back then may have a whole different meaning.
And yeah, I guess that's kind of neat as far as RD before PoR. However, the game itself must kind of suck after playing RD that has all these extras like swaping skills and infinite Forge. (I actually never used the Forge in RD, lol)
However, I would have liked to have played FE7 after FE6. I feel like the game would have been that much cooler, though the Final Boss would have been a let down. A weakened FD compared to THE Demon Dragon, leader of dragons. (Even though Idoun is an easier boss :S)

He's not just ANY Fire Dragon, though... if his stats are any indicator.

Compare every manakete you can fight in every Fire Emblem to FD statistically. Just sayin'… (the only other dragon that compares is Dheginsea)
Started pairing up the kids…. And I DO have cousins marrying.

@ Grimalkenkid: That... doesn't really help out. Lion and tigers may be different, but they both branch from the same group, which is a feline. Bunny and dragon don't branch from the same group... .___.;
@ Archolite: That's like saying that the laguz in FE9/10 are cousin. confused I don't think having stones to transform makes them cousin. But I guess you can be right about "cousin" can have a different meaning. My guess is that it may be reflect to the Asian culture where we called our families or close friends with family terms. For example, my dad told me to call my cousins "brother" and "sister" because we share the same last name, despite that we don't share the same parents. Same goes for my stepmom telling me to call her close friend "aunt." >>;

...Honestly, I'd think it obvious that she's referring to the fact that they function the same way in battle, what with transforming. She's not literally saying they're related.

@Jisen: Sorry. That's the only analogy I've got. I think Rath's right on what Nah's implying.
So I discovered something related to marriages and incest in-game you all might all find interesting:
I paired Chrom!Cynthia with Owain because they're both all about the heroism (and both offer awesomely good boosts syngery-wise, to each other as well), so it's virtually part of my head canon. Looking at their stats and such, later, I notice it describes the other in each not as "husband" or "wife", but as "companion". I wondered if perhaps it was because they were second-gen characters and can't produce children together ingame anyway. But I have Laurent and Severa paired together already also, and it reads "wife" and "husband" for them.
I suspect this label, "companion" was literally thrown in there to avoid incest implications and is only possible when you try pairing cousins (not easy to do, but there are enough combinations depending on MU, Lissa, and Chrom's pairings).
That said, I'd still imagine they ******** married at some point. Just an interesting observation since it was brought up earlier.

I believe you're right about the "companion" part FD. I guess America Nintendo are still trying to minimize the incest part. It may not be very noticeable, but you can see the hints hidden it that there are incest in it.

Well, in FE9 and FE10, Laguz DO seem to think of each other as cousin races. And I'm sure Nah is referring specifically to the races not the two of them as individuals. That much is a given. I highly doubt she was pondering about their respective ancestors getting jiggy on weekends. I don't think you have to look outside the games for some relation in a society's culture. But as far as using real-life as an example, it's probably just something like calling a best friend you had all your life your brother.
But remember Skrimir and many other Laguz lamenting the Dragon tribe for not helping against Slavers. Stating that they won't help their own kind and such. Even at one point using the word "brothers". Laguz seem to think other Laguz are just like them regardless of tribe. Other than the Heron tribe they're all ferocious, strength-oriented, and have a lust for battle. Dragons more so than the others, of course. But this seems to be the accepted opinion as a whole for all Laguz tribes. And who can blame them? All of the Laguz kingdoms essentially function the same way. (Again, Dragons and Herons are a bit different) They have the same enemies; Beorc/Humans. They really don't have beef with each other and seem to stand together on most matters. With all they share in common and how much they differ from the Beorc, it just makes sense that they feel connected.

Incest = blocked.
That's interesting, I didn't think they would do that. Even some of the English dialogue needs a spell check, so the game was rushed a little bit. Likely to get it out on the release date. I was kind of surprised it was announced to come out so soon and especially that they made the deadline. Anyone else notice some of the grammar errors though?

Nahh, they're just buds. Like Barte and Karla... ..... *Looks at Fir*. Oh, shut up... One of these days, I tell ya!
Though, the children do have plenty of issues. I wouldn't put it past them...

Are all S-Supports better than the respective A-Supports? Like, do they offer extra bonuses? I heard they weren't. Which, if that is the case, the kids don't even have much of a purpose in getting married. They need to enjoy their youth, damn it!

S supports are better than A supports by the same amount B supports are better than C supports. The difference is smaller than the jump from B support to A support, but at the very least, it's an additional 10% higher dual attack activation rate and 3% dual guard activation rate.

Because Archy didn't think about putting either of them in? I dunno.

Haha, I googled to figure out what you were talking about. I've only played 6-11 and 13. So that's why. I'll change the poll to something else soon anyway.
I know this is a total necro (but on a forum this slow...)
I might as well: My Current HM run [AKA: My Apo-smashy run]
My Current L+ run, which I paired for canon/headcanon (because pairs matter less on L+) ? Chrom/Sumia - Obvious. Robin(MU)/Lucina - Ahem...[Need an elaboration, I can provide, but...] Lon'qu/Lissa - Arrows. Stahl/Sully - Dat ending. Vaike/Miriel - Fairly sure this is more of a given, and anyways, Laurent's father is adept at losing things... which is Vaike's given trait. Ricken/Maribelle - Yes, Brady has a contradiction, but this pair... [also one of the few that's actually optimal on this run...] Frederick/Cordelia - I don't know... just did it. Gregor/Nowi - Ummm... Obvious. ??/Tharja - I'll think of a wuss for this wench later. Virion/Cherche - HolySupportSpeedBatman.
